Susan’s Apple Pie Recipe:
6 apples
1 cups of sugar
1/4 cup of flour
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
2 tablespoon butter
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon milk
1 Pie crust
Cut apples, bake in oven you’re done!

So you might be wondering why I just showed you an apple pie recipe when this post is supposed to be about the recipe for creativity. Let me explain. I have just given you my personal apple pie recipe. If you were to take the recipe I just wrote and bake an apple pie, although you baked it, you’d still be making my apple pie. It’s much easier to follow someone else’s recipe than to create your own but where is the challenge in that?
So how do you create your own apple pie, well it’s simple. You research a variety of recipes and take the bits and pieces that you like from each of them and apply it to your own.

This same technique can be applied to your artistic endeavors. Think of creativeLIVE as a great resource for creative recipes. We feature some of the best professionals in the industry with their own individual talents. Learn from these instructors and mentors but remember it’s your creative responsibility to take examples from each one of them and create something that’s all your own.

So, the next time you tune into creativeLIVE to watch your favorite professional, don’t limit yourself to one recipe. Cook up your own recipe for creativity.

Be creative, be yourself!
