What does creativeLIVE mean to you?

We've got a fun community activity this week.
Here's your opportunity to share your creativeLIVE stories with each other. If you appreciate the education creativeLIVE brings to you, we invite you to answer two simple questions in the comments on this blog post:
1. Where do you watch creativeLIVE? Where in the world do you watch? What time of day do you catch the LIVE feed?
2. What's your creativeLIVE story? There are lots of education opportunities available today: workshops, conferences, local classes, training videos, or other online webinars. How is the creativeLIVE experience different? How would you describe this experience to someone who has never watched a creativeLIVE event before? What has creativeLIVE meant in your life?
Leave a comment today, and encourage other creativeLIVE fans to join in as well.
By the way. The photo at the top of this post is from Sebastian Galimberti who watches creativeLIVE from Antartica where he is overwintering with a reasearch team from Argentina.

New Listener
I just tuned in today for the first time to Sal Cincotta's workshop. I am now running around the room excited as to what a treasure of a learning source I've found! I am tuning in from Ireland, I am just getting into the Wedding photography market and this is just the kind of creative boost I needed! Such an engaging format, such lovely people - I can imagine this becoming addictive!
Sal's courses
Julia,
I have Sal's senior program from creativeLive also. Yeah he knows! I did his packages like he said and am still learning more! Yes addictive! #4 course bought today! Yikes...now I need to go shoot and get clients! Cheers!

From Australia
Hi!
I'm in Australia and discovered creative live a couple of months ago, but can't remember where/how, but glad I did!
The first course I enrolled in was 'Inside the Glamour Studio' with Sue Bryce. I managed to watch several hours and decided I didn't want to miss a thing Sue had to say, so purchased the bundle which gives me the opportunity to watch it all at a time that suits me. Sue is amazing and I look forward to learning more from her and others in the future.
Being a shiftworker, it is nearly impossible for me to attend a course. I recently was going to attend a 6 hour workshop in Melbourne which I couldn't due to work committments. But with my creative live purchase, I feel Sue covered everything and more that I was hoping to learn.
And it is incredible value - the bundle was only $249! I can watch Sue and Simona whenever I want - it's almost like having them on hand as my own personal mentors!
So, a big thank you to everyone at creative live for bringing the joy of learning to those of us who, for whatever reason, are unable to attend workshops in person!
Watching From Belgium
I live in Belgium half the year and the other half in Littleton, Co. and I usually watch a video or two everyday from the classes I purchase. I either watch them in the morning or at night since they are way more informative than what television has to offer (exception I watch Suits when it is available)
I discovered Creative Live I think through a You Tube video. The first class I bought was Tamara Lackey's Taking Care of Business and I was hooked. I feel the videos go into depth and she shared so much. I like watching and then re-watching and then practice.
It has really upped my knowledge. I have tried many online courses, but feel you guys really hit it right with these videos. They just don't touch on the subject they go deep into it. I also like the diversity of you instructors, only problem with that is my budget is getting blown apart. But I look at it as an investment, because I am learning things that I am sure would cost me a lot of "stupid tax" if I had to find this out on my own.
Thanks and keep up the great work.

I've Watched Creative Live instead of the Olympics
That's how good CL is, i'm in Manchester UK, and I can't believe i've watched CL instead of the Olympics. I only just discovered CL via YouTube and can't wait for 5pm and the latest live workshops. My first viewing was Vicki Taufer which was outstanding and the best pet photography training i've seen, I learnt so much, I even had a question put to her live. The live chat rooms and questions from the internet audience makes it a magical experience, the presenters are all so warm and friendly. I even stay up all night watching the rewatches. I watch CL in our viewing room on our projection screen. Sandy Pucs Bellies to Babies and Tots to Teens were also simply outstanding. The whole interactive experience, the quality and diversity of training, the covering of marketing, sales and live real & raw photoshoots and the fact that you are broadcasting this free is amazing. I will certainly be supporting CL by purchasing items. Congratulations on an impressive achievement.

When I discovered CreativeLive
I am a UK photographer. I shoot editorial portraits and I am aiming to get into fashion photography. Due to a higher demand in my work, I have now started taking my photography more seriously. I am now learning how to set up my own business and how to become a real professional.
I recently discovered CreativeLive after endless searching on the internet for tutorial videos. I stumbled across many on YouTube but they were short and most were not that great. Some of the people teaching didn't really have a clue themselves. I have read dozens of books but I have a short attention span and I get bored easily.
Then I found a few CreativeLive videos and the people talking, seemed to be really clued up on everything they spoke about. They spoke in a way that was engaging and easy to follow. I then went over to the website and had a look at what they had to offer.
I recently watched Jared Platt's Lightroom Workshop and I soon realised this would be a good investment and that CreativeLive would now be the place to go to learn things.
Unfortunately I am still working on a 2005 iMac, so I am unable to watch the shows live because I can not install Flash Player 10 on my dinosaur mac. I am working on this however and hope to upgrade soon. I have seen many workshops on CreativeLive that I would like to buy and watch. Although as there are so many, I'm not sure if I can afford it yet.
In would recommend CreativeLive highly to anyone interested in Photography, from beginners to Advanced professionals. Everyone will learn something.

What Creative Live means to me
I was fortunate enough to speak with Kenna about this in Las Vegas of this year (2012).
CreativeLive is, in my mind, the future of education. While I understand that the online classroom is going to evolve in time, the true advantage of CreativeLive is the quality of education that one can receive vs the other currently available mediums.
I for one have taken and completed a formal education in photographic studies. While I value and appreciate the experiences and friendships that I built while I was in school, you simply can not replace the quality of education that you receive from CreativeLive because you are being taught by industry experts who are at the very top of their field.
Now, in college, you may of course go see someone speak, or participate in a symposium. With CreativeLive, you are immersed into a situation where engaging with the world's top professionals is the norm.
When you really think about it, the vision, the dream (forgive me if I'm overstating) of CreativeLive is the democratization of information to the masses.
As we all know, knowledge is power and by raising the bar of awareness, understanding, technical ability and access to this information we are creating an environment in which a student can and will learn what interests them in a way that is extremely meaningful.
Are all of the kinks worked out yet? No, of course not. But CreativeLive is still in it's infancy. When Chase announced CreativeLive and I watched my very first workshop, I didn't see an instructor discussing F/Stops & shutter speeds, I saw a world of possibilities in which all forms of study, from the arts to the sciences could be grown through sharing at the very highest of levels!
CreativeLive excites me for a few reasons. First, I came in when it was first getting up and running so I'm watching it grow up before my own eyes. Second, I think we are seeing just the tip of the iceberg as to how to appropriately lower the cost of education while increasing it's value AND making it worth the instructors time as well. Who wouldn't want a global platform to speak on as an expert?
I have many ideas about CreativeLive. The company and business model excites me. I think about being able to reach children in Africa, Tanzania, and many other areas who struggle every day to learn even the most basic of educational values.
Perhaps I'm overstating, maybe I'm just dreaming. Then again maybe the world needs to dream a little more, share those dreams, and start finding ways to say yes, together, so that we can find solutions to our problems, and enable our loved ones, all of us, to do, to see, and to achieve whatever it is in our hearts it is that we wish to do, to see and to achieve.

Impressive post of Creativelive
Creativelive post looks to be impressive for the students who are interested to find exam messages during exam day to remove stress of study. share this creativelive post as facebook status with your facebook friends..
Its like Heavens day out on Earth.
My name is stan and I am from India. Here in India,People do not share skills, unless you reach a certain caliber in the professional rung.I stumbled across this site randomly...don't know how, most good things happen this way. This is a great concept for creative photographers not to feel all alone in their pursuit to perfecting their skills. One good thing is the streaming. Its great for people across the world who cannot afford the programme at their convenience and yet be a part of the whole stage.Suddenly I feel the world a smaller place. I love you guys. Hats off to the guy who has come up with this concept. I pray this concept applies to all branches of creativity. This would make the world a better place. God bless America.
My story
I'm not a photographer. I take pictures for myself and have no intend to go pro. I stumbled across CL when watching one of Chase's videos where he announced CreativeLive. For me CreativeLive is my class room for all things I want to learn about the photography business.
I usually watch from the UK, Germany and now even at the airport when travelling. When in the UK I watch from 4pm to midnight plus one hour when in Germany. Sometimes that's not possible so the rematch might just do the trick in some cases. Otherwise I try to make the most of it and if I feel that a course really would help me getting the most out of a shot with my equipment the course will be bought.
Love the freedom and variety. Amazing stuff and very good prices in my humble opinion. Long live CreativeLife!
Creative Live makes my Light Bulb turn on!
Creative Live introduced me to influential, motivational and informative photographers. My eyes have been opened to many opportunities that are right there in front of me.
I tend to watch the feed during the workday. The downfall of being on PST time:(
Creative live is educational
Hi, Creative Live means a lot to me, its my number source for learning and building my confidence in portrait & wedding photography.
I adore when there is Bambi Cantrell, Jasmine Star, Crista Meola, and Sue Bryce comes out to give us excellent advises and teaching.
And the team that makes this all happen is you guys from Creative Live, to me there is no other online, local, or other means of teaching better.
I have been hobby photographing for @ least 13 years and just a year ago decided to make it pro!. oh yes I watch it every where I can even under the shower
Sao Paulo Brazil,
Creative-live just excellence
I watch creative-live from a UK town called Maidenhead, which is near Windsor. I try to catch the live broadcast at 5pm local time and the re-watch for the bits after 11:30pm I miss.
I like the style of Creative-live, the team put in so much effort to make the experience feel almost personal and the instructors are excellent and get as close to 1 to 1 as you can get over the internet. The mix creative-live has of the in studio students (my dream to be there one day)the chatroom and the way the instructors take question from both is fantastic and even the instructors ask questions of the internet students. I have suggested creative live to a few friends some I know have watched.
As a hobbyist Creative-live has demystified strobe work for me, it gave me the push to take the flash of the camera and the confidence that some time in the near future me a couple of friends will hire a studio to do some head shot and portrait they want.
Creative-live just excellence
My escape
Hi from Australia and care for my wife full time creative live and photography are my only outlet. It means so much too me to be able to gain more knowledge into the art of photography thank you when i started watching i could only shoot auto now use manual
What Creative Live means to me !
Well, first , I watch Creative Live faithfully in Hawesville Ky . I enroll in every class available even if I do not think the class applies in my area of photography , but guess what ? I take something away from every workshop I watch . This oppurtunity means so much to me because I am being taught by THE BEST OF THE BEST , FOR FREE. I am learning so much about technique , I fell in love with Sany Puc, Sue Bryce , and Bambi Cantrell , which I would have never been able to see do their craft in motion. Its such a huge deal for me tobe able to be a part of these. My photography is becoming publically noticed better, I am feeling more confident in my work , I remember often things each photog has said as I am in a shoot . THank you guys so much for everything u do!!!! We photographers should never want to stop learning . and this is my tool to do it !
Fantastic Resource for any level!!!
What a great resource. I've downloaded three courses already. I wish i could watch some of them live but I have to work during the live sessions. Zack Arias was amazing to watch. HIs work style and portfolio definitely stands out from the pack. John, John, this guy is smooth back there helping everyone with his lighting set ups. I loved John's Small in Home studio session as well. Can't wait for more, thank you!!!!!!!!!
Amazing!
Hi, I am watching CL from Hong Kong. Thanks so much for bringing all the SUPERB photographers around the world to share with the world!! I can't express how much I have learnt from each individual course that I have enrolled, to name only a few Bambi Cantrell (amazing great humble inspirational teacher, not to mention her photographs), Tamara Lackey (it was truly an amazing experience seeing live how to talk to the kids whilst photography), Zack Arias (another fantastic teacher I would say). Can't wait to see more LIVE courses!!!! Thanks CL teams, U are superb!
Limitless possibilities
To Sarah and myself Creative Live means limitless possibilities. And endless world of knowledge and perspectives shared that have impacted our art of photography and business of photography exponentially.
Not a day goes by that we don't watch (or re-watch) at least one video from our CreativeLIVE library.
Creative Live remains with on throughout the day. Even during a corporate portrait session yesterday, I had to share with two of my subjects the CreativeLive website and recommend separate courses for each of them as they were interested in photography and didn't know where to begin.
Thank you Creative Live for the endless potential and the limitless possibilities.
Thank you so much - you rock!!!
I cannot express enough gratitude for your work! It means so much for so many people. As for me, I am a self- taught photographer, based in Ouarzazate, Morocco. I live in the desert, so to speak, I have no access to courses, books and also for the moment no money to buy them online. The free courses gave me so much invaluable education! Thank you so much!
Amazing opportunities!!!
Hi
I am a wedding and portrait photographer from/living in Denmark (scandinavia) I have not had the chance to follow any of your events live, since its the middle of the night here and I have two small kids, but I have bought and thoroughly enjoyed both of J* online courses. I would love if you had her come again (and again and again and...:) she is so accessible, fun, down to earth, honest etc her two courses has changed major things in the way I view my business. + she is self-taught as I am myself (and I think a lot of other photographers are these days. I find that all of my questions are answered during the courses without me having to ask them because there are so many people (in class and on the web) who ask, that some of them are bound to have the same questions as I have. I would love to see you bring her back and have her do what she usualy does when on a styled shoot/workshop with great styling etc (only with the cameras rolling as you did with the live wedding with laura and billy). I will for sure buy anything you ever make with her in the future. thankyou so much for giving us all these opportunities to learn, both our craft, our businesses, and that so many others are going through the same struggles as we are.
A shout out from Herzele, Belgium
CL is a killer knowledge resource - I've been following already a long time. It's mega cool that you make photography workshops, given by crazy ass excellent photographers, accessible to everyone around the world. And allow people to even ask twitter questions real-time. Zack Arias, Jasmine Star, Bambi Cantrell, etc.. and recently Matthew Jordan Smith. Not only the technical things, but especially everything around a shoot! Following things live require me to burn the midnight oil, but it's more than worth it. A big inspiration!! Thanks a lot.
The meaning of life, the universe and everything
I can't quite put it into words, i feel you're giving A LOT of people a chance that would just have been impossible not too long ago, in a way that is just incredibly selfless.
Personally you gave me the possibility to attend courses that would have been absolutely impossible otherwise (seen as i live waaaay down south) Meet incredible people whose ideas will probably shape me as a person and photographer for the better. I will be forever in debt with you
Thank you so much, to the whole team (i won't name names because i can't possibly write them all even if i spoke with some more than others you all rock)
Addendum
Ah, and you've helped both galimba and me a lot, i'm so glad to spread the word too...
I love me some creativeLIVE !
I watch creativeLive everywhere! During the LIVE feed of the workshops I am always watching at work which is in Newport Beach, CA. I have two monitors in my office and one will be set to the class much to the disapproval of my boss. I might have to have this written into my next contract! I almost always watch the reruns at night at home. Double dipping!
There are so many ways to learn photography on the web today, but not one approaches the creativeLive experience. The opportunity for me, the amateur to actually creatively engage with the instructor is simply amazing. When the instructor looks in the camera and acknowledges me for the question. WOW! And obviously it is a testament to the production team at creativeLive for the quality of instructors that agree to teach in the workshops. It is so apparent from the depth of the class outlines, the prep work of your moderators and the instructors willingness to engage that everyone is in it to provide the best teaching experience possible. For me you have always succeeded. I see everyone having such a great time learning together that I'm always wishing I was in Seattle. I have enjoyed EVERY one of the classes that I have had the opportunity to watch. What is absolutely amazing and appreciated is that your classes are not cookie-cutter remakes. Each one stands on its own and the personality of the instructor shines. I have my favorites, but what I would tell someone who is looking to this platform for learning is to definitely give creativeLive a look and I'd guarantee them we would be exchanging notes in the very near future.
hi from Antwerp, Belgium!
Hi there, My name is An and I currently live in Antwerp. I've spent 6 years in DC, but never came across CreativeLIVE until a few months ago I was surfing the web for some info about a photography question I had. Great courses so far, on weekends I watch the reruns during the day. I'm currently watching the WordPress course which starts at 6pm my time and runs until 1 am or so?? I can't make it that late, as I need to get up early for work and cannot watch the reruns either, so thinking about buying this course!
Keep up the great work and many greetings from my living room in Antwerp!

What CL Means to Me
It's an opportunity to learn, to grow as an artist, to flex creative muscles I didn't know I had. I'm always inspired and always supercharged after sessions to get out and creative...to BE!
I usually watch replays on my laptop as I'm generally busy during the day. Wish we had an extra couple days to watch replays only because juggling kids makes it difficult to always get through a full session.
What CL means to me
I watch from home in Sheridan, OR mostly. I've found CL to be very inspiring, educational and I LOVE the concept. I see CL as cutting a pathway for new business models that are co-creative. THANK YOU !!!

Impressive publish! STICK WITH IT!
What creativeLIVE Means to Me
I watch creativeLIVE from Chattanooga, Tennessee, at 12 noon EST. I was introduced to CL by another photographer the weekend of the Bambi Cantrell workshop, and I have been hooked ever since.
I tell every photographer I meet about CL. I let them know that the workshops are free during the live broadcast, but can be purchased at a reasonable price if they are so inclined. There are many free webinars online, and I have attended a couple of them. The difference between these and CL is significant. Many of these webinars are done with the aim to sell you something you don't need, whereas CL is done with the aim of producing better photographers. I like that there is a worldwide audience, many of whom ask questions that I would not have otherwise thought of. I like the idea of teamwork that CL promotes.
CL has afforded me an education I could not otherwise obtained because of financial reasons. CL has opened my eyes to the possibilities and has elevated my photography, though I still have much to learn. I looking forward to the coming year with creativeLIVE.
What Creative Live means to me...
1.
Where: Leipzig, Germany, Europe
When: Usually 6pm CET (9am PT) and I usually pass out a hour or so
before it ends. I try to catch what I missed on the re-runs which
doesnt always work...
2.
I came across CL in march, a friend of mine who knows I'm into
photography sent me a link to the Bambi Cantrell workshop.
Watching it got me hooked and when I got account I enrolled
for several photography workshops.
During the summer the quality of the life feed wasnt really
good for me so I missed some of it but it got much better
recently.
What I like about CL is that you can watch it almost anywhere
with a computer but you're still right in the middle of it.
Its really good to learn from experienced photographers, seeing
exercises live, watch how they do it, get to know their mindsets
and in general the relaxed atmosphere.
The hosts Kenna and Susan are lovely too.
Keep it up, good stuff!

I'm was on the Virginia Peninsula when I first caught on to Creative Live with Jason Hoppe. I am of the age that I never learned Photoshop in school. So what I have learned and enjoyed very much in the process was CS4 and CS5, and InDesign CS4. What a fun teacher is Jason! Thanks to everyone for making available live teaching, especially in Photoshop.
What Creative Live means to me
I live in Tasmania on the NW coast - gorgeous spot. I do a lot of on-line study and found Creative Live during a photography course. If it wasn't for John Greengo, I would never have understood parts of my photography course. I quite often can't watch the live shows as they start at 4am my time, but I'm happy to purchase the courses.
what creative live means to me
I watch creative live from washington,pa (south of pittsburg)I found you through my daughter, who got me back into photograpy. I started with a cannon a1 in the 70's and kept using it till this summer when my daughter asked "have ya looked at DSLR's" I had in the past but was intimidated. She has been using one for a couple of years. she got me looking, I became intrigued not intimidated. She got me a used DSLR for my birthday, and the rest you can say is history. I am having a blast taking pics and learning on the fly, reading, looking at things on line, asking her questions and watching and learning from you. I watched all 3 days of Rick Sammon, it was so informative. I figured out the "Sammon Swirl" and couldn't wait to send pics to my daughter to show her. I hav taken alot of the things he said and put them into practice in everyday life. Eric Warren PS Susan sorry to see you go. We will miss you, but have a great time "following your dreams"
What Creative Live means to me
I watch CreativeLive from Lagos, Nigeria.
I found CreativeLive though Jasmine Star's blog. And I've been hooked ever since then.
As a self-taught Photographer. I always ravage Google for ways to improve my Photography.
But with CreativeLive. I believe is the best thing that can ever happen to anyone.
My Mum always wondered what's the people talking on my Laptop are on about and why I cant get off the computer when she need to send me on an errand. And I'm always chanting I've got a training to attend online for my fellow Photogs out here and they always thought I'm wasting my time.. But only me knew what I've gained from CreativeLive.
Thanks so much.
You mean a whole lot and much more to me.
PS: One day.. I pray to be in CreativeLive's House Live and have people watch me among the in house student.
Thank you CreativeLive Team!!!
What Creative Live means to me
I watch creativeLive from London UK, and although I am not a photographer, I am totally hooked. If I can't make the live experience between 5pm and midnight, I'll wake up early for the next day re-watch. Since Bambi Cantrell, I've seen pretty much all the workshops and each one brought something memorable to me both as self-employed osteopath and as a photography lover. Zack helped me understand how to work all this gear my ex-photogrpher of a Dad abandoned, Bambi's tips make my subject's day everytime, Jasmine Star gave me the courage to pull it together, set up a website, get blogging and put myself out there. I took all the pictures myself and although it's working progress, I'm kind of proud already! My next project is to catch-up on Vincent Laforet's class and create a proper video intro. Personnal work can feed into business is many different ways. I heard about you at a photo meet-up group, and I've been telling every one I know who's interested in creativity and entrepreneurship about it. A rising tide really elevates ALL ships. Thanks you all so Much!!!
What Creative Live means to me
I'm a retired Englishwoman living in France who has discovered the joy of photography late in life
A broke niece asked me to photograph her marriage so I found Creative Live whilst searching the internet in a panic for hints and tips on wedding photography. Bambi Cantrell showed me how to pose my ladies (they thank you too) and I was hooked. Since that first course I've watched everything. Over here in Europe the streaming starts at 6 in the evening and goes through to 1 in the morning, sometimes I get up really early to watch the rerun. My husband just doesn't get that I sit with my headphones on, glued to the screen, for three evenings over the weekend. There's always something new to learn about photography and your instructors are so inspirational. Many budding photographers would never get the opportunity of talking to a pro at all and certainly not for so long and in such depth and that's just what it feels like, an informative chat with someone who knows their subject and is willing to share that knowledge. Thank you all.
Oh and what's not to like about knowing that you're watching the same thing as a guy in Antartica ?
What does Creative Live mean to me
I watch creativeLive from Boston, MA and What does creative live mean to me? Creative live provides me with knowledge and skills that I can apply to my job and schooling. Creative live also provides me with the opportunity to watch online either at work or at home and I really appreciate the re-watch to cover anything that I miss. I also like that they give me the option to buy the tutorials at a reasonable price. You guys and girls are great and I really appreciate all that you do. Keep those courses coming!
What creative live means to me
I live near Seattle and have only just discovered Creative Live. I recently watched Rick Sammon online for all 3 days. It was a great educational experience and that's what Creative Live is all about.
CreativeLIVE rocks!
I watch CreativeLIVE from Cumberland, Vancouver Island, BC.
I have taken a few web design courses taught by Eric Fadiman and Im signed up for Justin Seeley's WordPress course and also his social media course, both coming up very soon. I think the courses are fantastic and if you buy the courses you get a really good bang for your buck. I love how they answer every single question, it's just like being in class. I don't know anywhere you can take courses like these for that price. Good job you guys, you have helped me a lot, keep up the great courses!
What does Creative Live Mean to Me?
I cannot believe that the most helpful teaching is free, produced by expert instructors that are able to communicate at an understandable level. Lesa Snyder was so good, I purchased her book which breaks down Adobe CS5 into logical steps. I am retired so I use my home computer to log in. With limited funds this is a blessing! Keep it up!
Argentina
I'm from Argentina too!
I don't remember how I started to see CreativeLive... I think It was at the times of Creativepro...
For me it couldn't be better, I apreciate so much your work and the effort to bring us the chance to watch your very proffessional seminars for Free!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Horacio
CreativeLIVE is my school and
CreativeLIVE is my school and my inspiring source!
Thank God for you guys. I would definitely encourage everyone to eyeball creativeLIVE! Trust me it's worth it.
My name is Samir and I live in Sweden. I found creativeLIVE on the internet when I was searching for David duChemine and from that on ...I am hooked.
creativeLIVE is the best!
I found out about creativeLIVE from a friend several months ago and have been watching the courses live whenever I can. In Texas, they start usually at 11 am and go through the afternoon. If I have work scheduled for the day, I can usually catch most of the evening's re-watch and I'm so thankful that creativeLIVE does that. The instructor/photographers present such helpful and interesting classes and it's so wonderful to see them LIVE in action! I'm a visual learner, so this format is absolutely the best possible learning format for me. The only way it could get any better is to be one of the live audience participants :) Thanks, CreativeLIVE!
Creative Live is simply
Creative Live is simply amazing!
I'm a stay-at-home mom. A few years ago my liking photography sprouted into a passion, nay and obsession! I signed up for college classes, part time. I made it through a year. I was wracking up debt too quickly! Being a single family income who has managed by NOT having debt, this quickly became an issue, even though my husband supported me with photography. So, I dropped out.
This is where Creative Live came in! I was able to continue my education, and this time from some of the top photographers in the world! Between reading every photoblog, learning site, and of course CL's workshops I feel as though I'm years further ahead then I would have been just attending school.
I've seen my online photo-friends attend live, I've made new photo friends... and I hope that one day I'll be able to attend live. You've created a resource that is invaluable. It's truly one of the most amazing things, a pay it forward, shining example of people helping people. Creative Live is nothing short of a blessing.
Thank you from southern FL
What does Creative Live mean to you?
W0w, Creative live is such an inspiration to me I really have to thank you all for coming together and getting very well known photographers to share there insight and knowledge / skills with us all over the world.
Thanks to B&H's as well.
I have learned so much and have been greatly inspired by your workshops, I pray it continues into the future.
I watch from Raleigh, NC
What does creativeLIVE mean to you?
I watch CL from Buenos Aires. The workshops start at around 1pm and the rewatch during night. I think CL is avery usefull resource for any person seriously involved in photography. All seminars add a new topic or a new technique to explore. Simply Valuable and great!!!
Ricardo Aquino - www.ricardoaquino.com
1. I watch creativeLive in Belo Horizonte City, from Brazil!!!!!!!!!!! And the time of the day for me here is normally is 13:00 local time and so on.
2. In the beginning was because of the specific content (6 months of photoshop course) which I loved. And then all the courses starts to help me develop in so different areas of photography. Now I'm most focus on wedding photography, but even courses like posing and lighting helps me in my area.
I've just think you should do more courses in wedding area and my suggestion is bring Daniel Aguilar (http://danielaguilar.net) or Fer Juaristi (http://ferjuaristiblog.com) to creativeLive. Those mexicans are simply mind bending wedding photographers.
Hi! I watch Creative LIVE from my workstation in Rome, Italy.
All the webinars, workshops and training videos are useful both in a professional way and to connect different photographers all over the world.
live the live!
i watch creativeLIVE just a few miles away from the studio. sometimes i hear a plane pass by in the audio and then hear it pass by in real life. kinda crazy!
usually i have my kids underfoot while i'm watching, so i alternate between the desktop and my ipad. on occasion, i catch the audio on my android in the car...once even while i was out berry picking. :O) then i play the rewatch to make sure i didn't miss anything!
all that ^^^^ is why CL is amazing. not every person who has the drive to succeed is in a position to pay for a workshop, or commit to a specific weekend away from home/kids/work to attend an in-person class. i am grateful beyond words for the education CL provides at no cost. i appreciate each and every team member and each person who buys a course, because you in turn help me fulfill my own dreams! i pay it back by participating as much as i can and spreading the word. as soon as i am in a position to do so, you can bet i will purchase every single photography class! they are ALL worth watching over and over again.
there is no classroom anywhere in the world that can provide the diversity of teachers that CL does. they all have their own amazing stories to share, and each has motivated me and inspired me in different ways.
i have tried over the past year to explain what CL is to people who wonder why i would spend a weekend tied to the computer watching people take pictures! it is such a simple concept, that it's hard to explain how amazing it is. it's a way of uniting and enabling the photography community so that we all become better at what we live to do. it doesn't just share the cost of education; it helps people world-wide connect and support each other in achieving their dreams. thanks so much for all you do!
I watch from Taiwan for work.
I watch from Taiwan for work. Usually the first showing is during the wee hours of the morning. However, the reruns immediately after runs from 7am until 1 or 2pm, so it works out well. It has been a very helpful tool. I especially enjoyed the day long workshops.
creativeLIVE means...
I prefer to watch CL at home. I live in Panama, the seminars start here around noon, that's good becasue most of the time I can plan to do other things in the morning and then dedicate the rest of the day to the seminar.
I learned about CL by a relative who is a photographer too, he recommended me to watch the seminar by Penny de los Santos, and then I felt in love with CL. Needless to mention the quality of the instructors, the didactic value, the motivational boost, the professional(r)evolution that these seminars provide (by the way, Matthew Jordan was fantastic!). For me, what sets these seminars apart is the creativeLIVE people. You guys have a knack for making the magic happen. I enjoy the cozy, relaxed, and honest atmosphere of the seminars, by honest I mean people truly committed to what they do. That makes a difference.
My sincere and humble gratitude creativeLIVE.

Getting Creative
Watching from Newcastle, NSW, Australia. Usually starts around 3am in the morning, over the weekend. While it is early, I think what is special about watching live is that we can chat with a host of different people all over the world... sometimes bickering over something, other times exchanging info. It's all additional learning processes which is the fun part. Of course the info from the workshop is fantastic.... learnt so much from both of Zack's courses, amongst others.
Keep up the great work.
I am also looking forward to cybermonday / christmas packs :D
Where do I watch creativeLIVE? etc...
I watch creativeLIVE in my house in Kansas City. I have been known to rewatch my purchased courses while folding laundry or knitting!
I love creativeLIVE! This summer I had a revelation that it was time to pursue the thing I went to school for 23 years ago...right when I graduated, I also got married and started a family. I had put my serious studies of photography on a shelf to raise our 6 kids and over the years my film cameras had died.... finally, I bought a Canon Rebel T3i last spring. I discovered I had a lot to learn about digital, but also realized that the love I had for photography was still as fresh and intense as the first time I picked up a camera. I decided to start a business and started watching tutorials and reading books, blogs, and anything I could get my hands on to help me get up to speed. My close friend/consultant sent me a link to Tamara Lackey's "Whiteboard"... I watched all two hours without leaving my desk and immediately signed up to watch Tamara's "Taking Care of Business" which I purchased, as well as her children's course... both are fabulous. I watched Taking Care of Business Live, and soon into it, realized I would need to refer back to it as I developed my business and so, purchased it.
Not long after that, I decided to send a video tryout for Rick Sammon's creativeLIVE course and was lucky to be picked to be part of the live classroom... what an experience!!! I loved every minute of it... one of my favorite aspects of it was meeting all the amazing and talented people that make up the whole creativeLIVE crew... such fabulous people. Rick Sammon was fun and informative and the other students are now all my Facebook pals!!! love seeing their work... I only wish I lived near Seattle cause the creativeLIBE crew are all great people... can't wait for the Wordpress course... will be purchasing more of the past courses once I get underway with my business.
creativeLIVE | Rocks My Socks Off
I watch from Adelaide, Australia, and the Live feeds are usually around 2-3am in the morning. I've only been exposed to it recently and was lucky enough to catch a re-watch of Matthew Jordan Smith's last day. The re-watch went from morning to late afternoon; it blew my mind. It was fantastic to see someone so highly successful with such a vibrant, positive attitude; who was even more than willing to share some tips to some, other, newer photographers. Incredibly inspiring, to say the least.
Keep it up creativeLIVE; you're onto something that's so good it's beyond words.
A great way to learn.
I watch CL from wherever I am on whatever device I have handy. I've watched from my desk at work, my laptop at home that's sometimes connected to an LCD TV for even better viewing or from my iPod touch when I'm on the go.
CL has given me and so many others the opportunity to learn from master who we would not have otherwise gotten to see and for FREE. I've learned how to better use the equipment I own as well as what equipment I should own. From software, to lighting, to the technical aspects of photography and even more recently how to perfect the icing on my cupcakes and cookies.
Thank you CL for providing the opportunity for me to learn and inspiring me to get out and shoot.
creativeLIVE is a treasure!
I watch from a little town in eastern Washington that is saturated with portrait photographers. Building a business has been hard and thanks to the instructors and their willingness to share, I keep plugging along, working to build my business. I started watching with David duChemin and have only missed a few of the workshops. David was so inspiring, as was Penny de los Santos, whose workshop I didn't think I would get much out of, but that was truly not the case. Zack's "head in a clean spot" is with me with every session I have. I've even taken the plunge into studio lighting and I wouldn't have had the confidence to do that without creativeLIVE and all the great instruction. Thank you!
Great if I could make it work
I'm living and trying to watch on a small island called Ko Samui in Thailand. Despite a 6Mb connection I am unable to watch either your live stream or the play back. I can see 1 or 2 seconds of footage every 10 seconds or so. ISP's in Thailand offer quite fast internet connections, but only offer to domestic websites, it gets a bit slower when trying to connect to international web sites.
Would be great if you could offer lower quality feeds so that I can watch too. Would love to see some of the great stuff your putting out into the world.
:)
Try Watching Again, and Let Us Know.
Azizg, we recently upgraded our streaming service to new servers that (reportedly) provides better streaming priority to other parts of the world. Try watching the main feed, and the lowres feeds during our next live workshop, and let us know if you see any improvements.
What I LOVE
I watch from my comfy living room recliner with my ear buds, in Coal City IL (1 hr south of Chicago). Weekends are so busy so get to sometimes watch part live then catch later, what I missed on rewatch.
I dove into Photography after loving encouragement from my awesome hubby to help me cope with depression. Has been the answer to my prayers. I have a slim budget so I gleen everything I can from everywhere and CL is the pot of GOLD! What I love is every time I think oh I wont get much useful out of this one because idont shoot that or with that equipment (Like Penny De Los Santos with food or Zach Aries with studio lighting or Matthew Jordan Smith with Fashion) ....I end up so glued, learning so much I don't want to miss a word and scrambling for a notebook to take notes! Every time! I do portraits of all my friends and family especially newborns and give them as a gift. I never charge and love every shoot because it gets me out there and shooting as Chase is always telling us to do! I also learned an immense amount from Lesa Snider CS5 Thank you Thank you Thank you for giving so generously of yourselves in all our behalf! Hey what about shooting interiors? Do we think there would ever be a class on this???
Where in the world do I watch CL?
Burlington, VT! I started watching CL with Eric Fadiman. The timing was perfect. I believe he was doing a Flash tutorial and I was taking a class in that, but it just wasn't quite sinking in. Eric gave me the "designers" approach and it made sense. Then I watched "Wedding Photography" with Jasmine Starr. I don't think I moved from my computer for an entire weekend! That was an unbelievable experience. Jasmine was so open and real throughout a very intense experiment. I am a huge fan of CreativeLive. Keep up the excellent work!
What does creativeLIVE mean to me?
I watch from Sweden.
I absolutly love creativeLive and have been watching nearly every time. What you bring is so valuable that I can't believe it's free. World class photographers and instructors for a 3 days workshop? I don't believe any other sites is offering that. Thanks a lot.
Amazing Creatives
Im watching creativeLIVE in the Philippines from work, lol.
For me, creativeLIVE is a phenomenon. It is exaggeratedly amazing.
For all the creators, photographers and crew, thanks a lot. Keep inspiring more photographers around the world.
CreativeLive
I watch CreativeLive in my home office as it streams live on my iMac, in my little Northern California town of Chico.
CreativeLive has given me the opportunity to attend workshops from the very best photographers in the world all from the comfort of my home. It's hard to put a value on the information given in the courses as for me, some of it has been instrumental and life changing when it comes to my wedding photography business. Thank you to the CreativeLive team your hard work and innovation is so very greatly appreciated!!!!
CL awesomwness
I watch from Devon UK.....CL present great, relaxed , informative, relevent courses from awesome presenters...and whats more they are free....what more could you ask for...CL are a great Team...keep up the awesome work guys...and gals...missing you already Susan....
What does CreativeLIVE mean to me?
I watch from home in Barboursville, WV. I am a stay-at-home-mom on a tight budget and CreativeLIVE gives me the opportunity to expand my knowledge in photography without worry that I am taking away from the family budget for my hobby. I am especially grateful for the ReWatch as I often have to leave part-way through a segment in order to pick-up a kid. Thank You!
CreativeLIVE
I'm watching from Birmingham, AL. I've replayed Zack, Tamara and Matthew many times and keep learning each time I watch. Can't believe I have access to these awesome instructors! Thanks for doing such a great job - can't wait to see what's in your lineup for next year.
What Creative Live means to me!
I watch on my laptop in Pensacola, Florida. Creative Live is the best, most comprehensive, free training available. Although I have been a photographer since 1949, every lesson has increased my photographic knowledge. The Creative Live staff is excellent, the studio is marvelous and the lighting is great. Words cannot describe how much I look forward to receiving the e-mail announcing a new lesson.
Carl
CL on my iPad
I usually watch on my iPad (via ustream) while at home. I am from Twin Cities, MN. I usually can't watch until late at night or early morning. I sometimes will listen in my car via iPhone.
The CL sessions are great and have really enlightened me and opened my eyes to all of the great artists out there. I enjoy the photography how-to, video sessions the most. I am also a kelbytraining.com subscriber, and love both services. If you haven't checked out the kelby training yet you should as i found it invaluable.
As far as CL purchased sessions go....I bought HDDSLR Cinema with Vincent Laforet and Tamara Lackey's Taking Care of Business and Anatomy of a photo shoot with Mark Wallace. I am looking at buying the Zack Arias sessions as everyone seems to really love them.
What does CreativeLIVE mean to me?
I watch when ever I can from Monterey CA. I get busy so sometimes I have to miss some things. But I know I can purchase the course and get caught up so I don't feel left out or can watch the sections I missed. I'm also a visual learner. I pickup things alot quicker if I see them. I love CreativeLIVE and plan to take many more workshops. Especially photography and photoshop sessions. I'm hooked and can't wait for the next ones.
What does creativeLIVE mean to me?
I often watch creativeLIVE at home, but I'm lucky that I live close enough I can go into the studio now and then. The opportunity to watch free content and get excited about learning new things, and then having a huge library of content available online is amazing.
Thank you!
What does CreativeLIVE mean to me?
I watch in Florida, at home.
The big thing to me, is learning, learning anything and relating it to my life. A lot of the cookie and cup cake things can be used in Fimo, and sculpture. The fact that you give information for free, is a wonderful opportunity for people to gather skills and knowledge for the future use.
I do horse photography, but I learned from the various photographers you have had there, and adapted some of the photo shop to the free program of Gimp.
What does creativeLIVE mean to me?
I watch creativeLIVE from beautiful Grand Junction, Colorado. I usually watch the sessions late into the night, after they have aired that day. I put my baby to sleep, and settle down at my desk, or in my bed, with a cup of tea and an excitement to learn.
creativeLIVE means accessible and affordable learning in a supportive community. I'm so grateful for what creativeLIVE does. They work hard to better the art of photography on a broad level for a global audience and I have learned so much from workshops from some of the most talented photographers there are. Thank you!
What does Creative Live mean to me?
1. I watch from Ventura, California
2. I have been watching the live events, for quite some time. I find them very informative, lots of fun, try to pass along this great resource to everyone I know. When I can't watch live, I do sometimes buy the workshops.
What creativeLIVE means to me?
There are not enough words to say what they have done for my self worth and the business sense. Every since I saw Zach Arias lecture I've been hooked to all the sessions that have been shown there after. creativeLive and the teachers give back in a BIG way and I can only say thanks and point others here.
What does creativeLIVE mean to you?
I watch from North Yorkshire in the UK. Usually a marathon viewing on the Saturday as I work late on a Friday and as most broadcast show from around 6 o'clock in the evening to the early hours of Saturday, I usually watch the third replay of Friday followed by the live showing on Saturday.
I like the whole staff of Creative live, as they become the models in photshoots, run around in the background setting up equipment especially John Cornicello, also Kenna and Susan for listening or at least reading what we say in the chat room.
My favorite workshops have been the ones by Zach Arias, with his down to earth ideas, and budget photograhy ideas.
Worst point is the beginning of each workshop showing you how to view the program, while you are viewing it. I know some of this is used to set teh streaming quality and sound levels.
thanks to all and keep up the graet work.
What does creativeLIVE mean to you?
I usually watch from home after work. So I'm usually watching the replay.
CL is an amazing offering of top quality classes from incredible instructors.
CreativeLIVE means the world to me.
I live in Lubbock, TX. It's 2 hours from Amarillo, and nowhere else. Even though it's a well established city it is pretty isolated and NOT known for its photography. I watch CreativeLIVE from the comfort of my own home--and by home I mean tiny apartment--usually under a pile of children.
While my husband is still in school it has been hard to find time and money for photography -- a more expensive hobby than most!! And with 2 kids, taking time away from home for a workshop is out of the question. The opportunity to have a FANTASTIC workshop, right here in my own home! is unbelievable. I watch live as often as I can but when my kidlets take me away fromt he computer I'm always grateful to be able to catch the rerun at night. I love that although I am a mom and wife first and foremost, I have the opportunities to keep the artistic side of my life kindled, and CreativeLIVE is a huge part of that.
Thank you!!
What does creativeLIVE mean to you/ where do I watch?
I am in to photography for a year or so and developed so many skills and consumed so many small technical information ,especially since I got my dslr camera this year in April, I progressed so much that I knew that now I am at the stage when I would need some more serious informations.
So as a self learner, this courses on creativeLive have put me to the ground and show me directions and styles of other professional photographers. I got information for this site from my friend who even isnt that deep in to photography, but since I know for it, I am constantly thinking what else I could see and learn from creativeLIVE. I even plan my weekdays so I can watch you guys :)
I see creativeLive as a revolution in... how to say it... internet level, because you bring professional photographers in your studio and they bring their world of photography and share it among people in the world as with people who are on that course. I know learning through internet is getting more and more popular, but certainly creativeLIVE opened my eyes for the world of photography and you serve it perfectly ! You bring some major names which I could possibly not be able to see in my country so I just droll when I watch them on your site ;)
Since I follow creativeLIVE I got impressed by Bambi Cantrell, Zack Arias and Matthew Jordan Smith and since I watched those photographers I constantly drive few important words in my head - "what is my vision ?" and "what is the hero ?", plus I loved when Zack wrote a comment to Matthew Jordan, (when MJ had his course for creativeLIVE), that MJ is doing a great commercial for Zack by saying "Learn to use one light first", I loved that one !
I follow you guys, from Slovenia, Europe from 6pm till 1am and it became a habit, so thank you so much for this unforgettable internet experience and I hope you will keep it up, because this is THE BEST way to open your eyes and mind and that might help to improve your/my "vision" ;)
I wish you all the best guys, because you are giving us the best, thank you internet and thank you creativeLIVE <3
CreativeLive where/what?
I watch Creative Live workshops from home on my laptop.
I really credit Creative Live for reviving my passion for photography. I lost my motivation for taking photos after getting an SLR and seeing how badly my photos turned out. From watching inspired professionals and still-growing students, I learned.
I learned to have patience with myself.
I learned checklists for the kind of finished product photos I want to take.
I learned about lighting and trial & error and about all different kinds of photography.
Thank you Creative Live!! Keep on inspiring
I watch Creative Live in my
I watch Creative Live in my apartment in Provo, UT. The live feed starts at 10:00 am mst.
I really enjoy watching creative live. There are so many different things to learn. I helps me with trying new things and learning things I haven't even thought of. I love the workshop environment, especially seeing the photographers doing shoots and exactly how they do it. I also love seeing the students work and how they learn. I started watching I think with Zach Arias one and have caught most of the other ones since.
What does creativeLIVE mean to you?
Lcated in Mebourne, Australia, I usually miss the original broadcast as it is usually overnight. I happily view the "rewatch" repeats. This is ok for me, most times someone will have asked the questions that I might have if I was watching "live". This is what makes creativeLive different from other classes on the internet - the interaction with students. I like the intructors and it is so good to be able to watch the classes before buying them, I can direct my money into the ones that I would particularly like own.
What does creativeLIVE mean to you/ where do I watch?
I'm from Slovenia/EU and I watch creativeLIVE on PC or smartphone.
It means a lot to me to see and hear sucah a great artist for free. Most of us don't have the opportunity to travel around the world and attend various workshops. CL is like stereoids for my knowledge and creativity.
Thank you very much and recpect to CL and Mr. CJ. World needs more ppl like you.
What does creativeLIVE mean to you?
1 - I tune in to the live feed (whenever possible) from Warren, Pennsylvania. Sometimes from my office, sometimes from my Android phone or tablet - once or twice I've kept it streaming from a local restaurant. Usually, that means noon to 7pm-ish. If I miss anything, I try to hit one of the rewatches.
2 - I live in a sort of geographic vacuum, the perfect middle zone between stops on the major workshop / seminar circuits. I'm just about halfway between Chicago and Philadelphia, and nowhere near a freeway. Which means I lose a solid 14 hours of driving to hit either for some training. CreativeLIVE, for me, has been a priceless educational experience. There's no way I could otherwise afford (time or money) to get the kind of in-depth training you've provided, from some of the best names in the photography industry. It's the next best thing to in-person training.
To anyone who hasn't watched yet - I would highly recommend it as one of the most valuable educational tools you can find today.
What does creativeLIVE mean to you?
I watch from my desktop computer at home mainly, but use my iPod as a backup via the Ustream feed. Being a SAHM to a young toddler makes it difficult to spend the whole day (many times several days) watching the GREAT classes in one sitting. So I will get as much in as I can during the LIVE feed and then watch the re-runs at night when he's asleep and my DH is doing homework. I make it work.
I have registered and watched at least 5 or 6 courses now and I LOVE what you guys do. I already went to college and got my degree, but never ever dreamed that I would OR could have a passion for photography and that I could do something with it. I can't afford to go to seminars or workshops or take photography classes because we're putting my husband through school, and I stay at home with our child. We are a low-income family. CL has given me the resources I need to research new topics, learn new or better techniques, and also to feel more confident in my abilities. I was able to do my first product photo shoot thanks some of the things I learned from "Lighten Up and Shoot" - and I got very positive feedback. It was a great feeling and something I probably would have never done if I hadn't WATCHED someone else do it. The visual learning process is HUUUGE for me -- creativeLIVE is the perfect resource for me. I can't thank you guys enough for what you've done for me, my photography and my editing skills. I love this community.
What does creativeLIVE mean to me?
1. I watch creativeLIVE from Atlanta, Georgia, USA. I usually watch at home, although I've attempted to watch from the office which I usually can't do.
2. creativeLIVE allows me to receive expert instruction, from photographers I admire and respect, about topics that are highly relevant to my growth as a photographer. As others have pointed out, the purchase price is incredibly affordable. There is no reason to be a freeloader (like I admit I have been to date, which I plan to change)! Every creativeLIVE session I've tuned into has been first rate. Tamara Lackey was superb. The photogaphy duo (Mikey and ?) were fantastic. I'm grateful that creativeLIVE is able to field questions from your Internet audience. This is a bonus that is very much appreciated, and makes me feel like part of the live workshop, even though I'm many miles away. Keep up the fantastic work!
What does CreativeLIVE mean to you / where do I watch?
Watch from Morrisville, North Carolina
Several instructors from all over the world are slowly molding me in becoming a true professional. I could already see drastic change in myself! Long live creative live! May be i will present one day on creative live on my techniques ;) www.expertpicture.com
What does CreativeLIVE mean to you / where do I watch?
I watch from my home in Louisiana. I'm often busy during the day and can't always catch the whole program at once, but the re-watch enables me to go back and catch the portions that I missed earlier.
I'm pretty new to the photography and Photo Shop world and greatly appreciate seeing the experts share their experience with me as I don't have a lot of money to spend. I learn faster by watching others demonstrate and allowing me to follow along. Thanks CreativeLIVE!
What does creativeLIVE mean to you/ where do I watch?
1. Try to catch the ones I want to watch live from Maidenhead in the UK, not always possible I have purchased 4 course all have helped on one way or another.
2. Why is the Creative Live method enjoyable / useful, there are topflight trainers who share their skill and knowledge with the questions from the on line worldwide students make this method so good it has the benefit of hundreds of students yet feels like a one to one
What does creativeLIVE mean to you/ where do I watch?
I watch while at work... while I am suppose to be working on my thesis ;) But your classes are much more interesting then my thesis.
I live in Pullman WA a little college town that does not offer photography courses for anyone who is not a photography major. I love photography as a side business but never wanted to make it my full time job so my major is not photography! CreativeLIVE has been so helpful to me. The information is great and I am able to take notes while listening in. For anyone living in a small town it is a great resource! I even posted about it on my blog Elizabeth Hirst Photography. I am a small town girl at heart so you will have a student for life!
What does creativeLIVE mean to you?
I watch creativeLIVE wherever I am. At work, at home, on my cell phone. Anything I can do to increase my knowledge, I will do. I've had to catch a few reruns at night because I missed part of the day, but most of the time I watch during the day.
I LOVE creativeLIVE. It has changed me as a photographer. It really opens up teachers and courses that would have cost enormous amounts of money to go to live. Just being able to watch a workshop with Zack Arias or Bambi Cantrell for free is amazing! Then the prices of $150 for 3 days of information, it just doesn't get any better than that. I've loved every workshop I have watched, and I have learned more in the 9 months of watching creativeLIVE workshops than I ever thought I could.
Thank you creativeLIVE for all that you do! I don't know what I would do without you!
What does creativeLIVE mean to you?
I watch from my laptop in Seattle, Washington.
CreativeLIVE has been amazing. I'm so thankful for it. I've watched a number of the free live casts as I process photos for work, and have some as well. I always pick up new tips every time I tune in!!
What does creativeLIVE mean to you?
I watch on my kitchen imac - starts at 11AM for me here in Dallas, USA so the house is quiet on weekdays. The LIVE event is a little hard on the weekends since the house gets noisy and family errands try to take over, but I squeeze as much as I can out of it and life practically shuts down. I've been in sheer heart palpitating panic when there is ever any interference in the feed.
The CreativeLive experience came into my life at the perfect time for me. I googled online photography course back in early 2010 when I was beginning to pick up the hobby again and it linked me into your first LIVE photography webinar which I immediately registered for and noted on the calendar. I couldn't believe how much I learned from John Greengo and his incredible visual aids. From then on I've been hooked and havn't missed a single one except Bambi's posing class which I am so close to caving in and purchasing because I know it will be worth it. Your classes are so financially accessible in comparison to your standard live attendance venues with the pros. So I immensely appreciate the incredible talent and content that is shared with such a positive and open viewing experience! I really do believe that ya'll are changing the field and creating a more peer supportive environment amongst the photography pros and all your viewers. I am a total CreativeLive junkie!!! You guys just keep getting better and better...
What does creativeLIVE mean to you?
I watch from the UK, I try and catch as much of the live feed as I can via Iphone, PC and laptop depending where I am in the house. The feed is normally around 5pm here.
CL brings great names to us that we would normally have a hard time to get to hear and watch, CL does it for FREE on the live feed and a great deal to buy the course over the weekend!
CL has aloud me to expand my photography by introducing some great teachers that I would never of had the opportunity before.
Thank you CL :)
What does Creative Live mean to me
I watch from my home in Fenton, MO and have enjoyed the likes of Zack Arias my first, Tamra Lackey, Jasmine Star, Mark Wallace, Rick Samon, and others. Love the fact these exceptional pros share their expertice with all of us watching the venue is exceptional and the things I have learned are you must know your equiptment and practice. I only wish I could afford to purchase some of these courses, but still love the chance to watch, learning that live broadcast sometimes things can and will go wrong, but usually things get back on track with you outstanding crew.
CHASE JARVIS THANK YOU FOR YOUR VISION
MO USA
I watch from home and I love it! It means so much to me! I have zero money to spend on furthering my photo and photo shop knowledge and I need as much help as I can get. Thanks for making these available for us for free. With great instructors they just keep getting better and better packed with more info than I can remember! I may not be on the chat much anymore since I figured it messes up seeing the CL event. I am there and loving it! When it is at a time I can not watch live I watch it in the evenings. Thanks again so much!
From a Small Island...
1 - I watch CreativeLive classes from 41° 22' N / 70° 32' W (I'm in Edgartown, MA - an historic whaling village on the eastern coast of Martha's Vineyard... USA)
2 - Different people have different learning styles - for me, I learn most quickly when I watch how someone does things. Usually it takes one time, maybe two - then I like to try it on my own. CL classes are the perfect venue for that learning style. AND (most of) the instructors are very "down-to-earth" - they use simple, direct language and are not overly didactic. Love it!
All Good Things
1) Seattle
2) What is most compelling to me about CreativeLive is the philosophy that sharing knowledge is a good thing. There are a lot of people out there who are fearful of this idea. By getting top notch instructors and producing a great product CreativeLive has built a worldwide community of creative people who are learning to better their craft at whatever stage they are at. The live format shows that things can go wrong, but you have to dust off and move forward. I have learned a great deal from the courses and want to thank everyone at CL for all of their hard work.
Aussie Fan
1 - I watch creativeLIVE in my study in Perth, Australia. As it is based in the USA, I have to sit up all night to participate live and ask questions in the chat room.. it has been worth it *every* time.
2 - CreativeLIVE has changed my career, I was a struggling photographer prior to participating in both of Zack Arias' workshops. He helped me understand the studio process a lot better and I've managed to pick up several regular clients for headshots and corporate profiles. By participating live I've also connected with other photographers around the world, it's been great!
What does Creative Live mean for me.
1. I live in St.Joseph New Brunswick, Canada. I watch on my laptop in my basement office. Thanks for the rewatches! I catch a bit here and a bit there at all hours. I especially enjoy the Monday rewatches. Thats my most relaxing moments of the week.
2. I had the miraculous chance of catching my first Creative Live weekend event with no other than Bambi Cantrell. Just before I did my first wedding. I bought her course on the spot. It was unbelievable what I learned in that one weekend. The lighting and the posing but most of all the interaction with her clients. It gave me a huge head start and was a great confidence builder. I've watched all of your photography sessions since then. Can't thank you enough for the experiences you bring to me on every watch. I plan on buying other coures in the futur. When I get the chance to afford another gift from me to me. They are wonderful career boosters. Great job everybody! And a special thanks to Susan and Kenna for the bonus interaction between the viewers and the guests. Same goes for you John and all the other people behind the scenes who make it all possible. :) In case your interested here's my website. www.brenphotographie.ca.

1. I watch it in my family room! Usually the replay - over and over! :)
2. My story is I have spent many years telling people that I want to be an artist but never found my medium. Then I got my first DSLR and after a year of being afraid of it I decided it was time to learn!! I came across creativeLIVE and have watched several awesome awesome DID I MENTION awesome courses - starting with Bambi Cantrell, then Jasmine Star, John Greengo, Zack Arias and Lesa Snider - each of them sharing so much information and enhancing my photography in incredible ways. Some people feel like their trade knowledge is a secret that should be kept - but your instructors give so much to us and are incredibly genuine!
Thank you creativeLIVE for all you do for us!!! :)
Community
1) Central NY USA
2) I think the best part about the CreativeLive experience is how it enables the world-wide photographic community to come together all at once and have a conversation, and actually get answers to questions in real time. A lot of times someone from the internet will pose a question I hadn't thought of, but will find relevant. It's great to see some very talented people teaching, but what I think is even better is how they get their brains picked the entire time. I've always considered sharing knowledge as one of the best ways to get ahead. It shows you two things: what you know, and what you need to learn next. I've tutored many times where I find myself learning more afterwards because I didn't know the answer to every single question, and it helped me push that much more to keep educating myself so that I could relay that info the next time.
CreativeLive Love
1) I usually am watching it in St. Johns, FL
2) I discovered CL with a lighting workshop---before Kenna and Susan even started to hostess (miss you Susan!). I was hooked. Awesome creatives, great courses with so much diversity in subject matter, CL provides artists with the opportunity to interact with some great mentors LIVE and you feel like you're a part of the classroom environment. And given that this is a live viewing, you literally get the opportunity to try before you buy for free. I have been inspired by so many of the speakers and the hosts make you feel like you're part of the family. Thanks CL!
The suburbs of Washington DC
I usually start watching Creativelive at work. I try to work it out so I'm driving home during the lunch break. Then tune in when I get home and throughout the weekend. I always tell myself that I'll watch while I'm doing my weekend chores but always find that the weekend has flown by and nothing is done but I have learned so much!
I watch every class I possibly can. Everyone brings so much to the table, I am always afraid I'll miss something important if I don't watch everything and Free is a price I can afford. I do pick and choose classes to buy so I can watch them often. Some I have watched so much I can recite them word for word and when I'm shooting I can hear the voices in my head! Hahahaha! Even subjects I'm familiar with are so interesting to me because I can watch Michael Jordon Smith and hear him say something and it is an "ah ha" moment. "Yes, I do that too!" Very cool!

2. Hard to explain but there is something better about a live class. It feels more authentic and interesting with the interaction, the live guests and the behind the scene views.

I watch at home with a good bottle of Malbec and some snacks. Thank you for bringing the best instructors to my home, I have learned a great deal so far, plus I had a great time. I have improve so much in my photography since CreativeLive started. I wish I could've had this opportunity when I was 15. I admire all the people who are sharing their techniques with the world. Creativelive is by far the best photography training available in the web and i now them all =)
Un fuerte abrazo, Marcelo.

I watch from my PC in sunny
I watch from my PC in sunny Singapore. The first creativeLIVE show I ever watched was John Greengo's Fundamentals of Digital Photography.I loved it so much I bought it and try to watch all the courses. Unfortunately its usually early hours of the morning when the workshops come on. But its a testament to how i love the courses when I stay up and watch! Of course I often fall asleep and so I buy some of the courses. I have recommended the site to numerous friends. So although a creativeLive course means the lack of sleep for a few days, I am excited and inspired to learn each time and will continue to watch and recommend to my friends. Thanks!
What CreativeLive does for me & when!
I watch from my work desk in Scotland, UK. Luckily the US/GMT time difference means most workshops start just as I finish work at @5pm!
The Live workshops mean I feel like I'm openly collaborating with & learning from world experts, especially when my free time is limited.
Everything with Chase Jarvis & Vincent La Foret is massively inspiring, those guys wow me every time!
Keep it up! X

1. Mostly at home. Sometimes on my android while not at home.
2. Since watching Zack Arias and his studio lighting class, I have found more joy in strobes than in all other photography fields together. I'm not afraid of flashes anymore and I know exactly what to do with them. As easy as that.
Every creativelive teacher speaks like he has no secrets, and I like that.
All in all I have never paid for any of the classes, probably because I never miss both the live and rewatch. Also it's not easy to spare 150 usd these days, especially in the country where I live. Also, it's never the same feeling when you watch live and the recording... somehow... this is meant to be LIVE.
Long story short: CreativeLIVE means a looooooooot to me :)
What creativeLIVE means for me
Hi all, Henke "Imaginara" Bengtsson from Sweden here. CreativeLIVE is an unprecedented awesome center of learning, providing high quality professional workshops and seminars for everyone. My absolute favourite so far was without a doubt Matthew Jordan Smith, mostly because it was not targetted for the absolute beginners crowd, but rather the "we know the technicalities, but need the inspiration" crowd.
To answer the questions: 1. i watch it from my office most of the time. Currently a PC, but sometimes i watch it at my retouching workstation which is an iMac.
2. The CreativeLIVE experience is an exellent way to not only watch a great show and seminar, but also be able to comment and send questions directly to the presenter. And if you are lucky, the other participants may even answer the question before it reaches the presenter. The chat functionality could use a bit of work as the IRC protocol has it's ups and downs, but overall its an awesome system.
See you soon at #creativelounge

What creativeLIVE means for me
Hi, this is Pablo from Barcelona, Spain.
I am glad to say that i've watched almost every creativeLive show.
I'm starting in wedding photography bussines and i think creativeLive it's been very helpful for me in my career. I've learned something important in every course that have made me better photograph.
I hope you guys can delight us with new shows in 2012.
sorry for my english

Pablo
What creativeLIVE means to me
The first creativeLIVE show I ever watched was John Greengo's Fundamentals of Digital Photography in spring 2010 and I enjoyed it and felt it was so well done that I bought it before it was finished being recorded. I was still only using a point and shoot camera, but planning to buy a DSLR soon, with professional aspirations, and John Greengo explained things so well I learned a lot right away. Then, I learn more every time I go back and re-watch any of the videos. I like his humor, his visuals, his teaching style.
I have only attended one or two other workshops while they were free. I just don't have the money to spend on it this year.
I do love learning via videos and very much appreciate creativeLIVE. I subscribe to the newsletter so I'm always made aware of upcoming opportunities.
But I haven't yet answered your questions! :D
1. I watch on my computer in my home office. In 2010 that was a PC laptop. This year I got an iMac. I watch during the day when my kids are occupied with their own activities.
2. I think creativeLIVE is the only online training that is offered free for initial viewing and only costs if you want to download the videos to keep. If I were describing it to someone who has never watched a creativeLive event, I'd simply explain that these are live recordings that you can watch free when they're made and then choose whether to buy them to download and keep.
What has creativeLIVE meant in my life? It played a part in kickstarting my entrance into the DSLR world. And I look forward to more classes on photography, Photoshop/Elements, and Lightroom. I'm signed up for WordPress for Photographers too, and hope I can watch most of that.
Thanks!
What creativeLIVE means to me
I watch creativeLIVE with focus and attention during my time (typically the start of the day before the rest of the house wakes up!). But I also LISTEN to creativeLIVE throughout the day while I work so I can multitask - and flip over to the stream when there is something that catches my attention (which is often!).
My creativeLIVE story has culminated in this project: http://rockthemo.tumblr.com
We all have good ideas, but I often find myself, like many others, leaving those ideas on the shelf because it would take too much work to get it started. Reading Chase Jarvis' blog has helped break me on that mentality - it's better to seize the idea and just do it. Whether or not the end result is what you want/hope, you will be better for the doing. creativeLIVE has given me inspiration and ideas on how to approach and tackle problems along the way. I changed the lighting for my project the morning of the shoot because I happened to watch some of Mathew Jordan Smith's Beauty + Fashion session before I loaded up the car to head to the studio.
In short, thank you very much for this innovative sharing and learning platform that is creativeLIVE. I probably would not have gotten off my butt without it.
Speaking of sharing and learning - would love the communities feedback on the project! and all proceeds go to Movember, so if you want to bid on a print, I won't stop you. :)

What creativeLIVE means to me
CreativeLIVE has been a fantastic place to broaden my knowledge base of photography in a relaxed and enjoyable setting. I've gone to 6 years of Art School but Photography is an ever changing/expanding field, especially now. CreativeLIVE has tapped into the creative minds of some of the most successful working photographers and asked them to share their knowledge. CreativeLIVE is unique and there is nothing else quite like it, I can't thank the team enough for helping me take my photography to the next level, and the next one after that!

In the middle of the night
When something is really worth watching, I don't care to stay up all night to watch it. Content is key and that you can find in many of the courses of CreativeLive. I love the live concept and the choice if you want to buy it, or not. It's all free of choice and for a very reasonable price.
Due to the time differences I have to watch many of the courses in the middle of the night. But again: many of them have my interest and that is the only reason I need. And if I want to see them back, I buy them. They are my new 'books' of knowledge.

1) Watching CL from Jubany Station, Antarctica ;-)
2) The CL experience is massive, free, online, interactive and it has the best teachers you could think of! Thank you, CL! I'm learning a lot from you.
Brilliant photo Sebastian!!
Brilliant photo Sebastian!!
More than once I've heard of "the guy that watches from Antarctica" during trainings, it´s good to meet you.
1. I usually watch live from my desk at home in Mexico City or take it around the house on the iPad if I'm needed elsewhere.
2. CreativeLive is different because of it's format: free, live, audience participation and most importantly top notch instructors.
Every CreativeLive training I've enrolled in I've taken value out of, it also has an incredible global-community feeling. Moderators Susan and Kenna go to really great lengths to make sure voices outside the studio are heard; and the rest of the staff make sure courses run really smoothly.
Keep up the good work!

Best place to learn ever
I found Creativelive last year when I was in Vancouver, BC I found this system very interesting to learn! i followed Lighting classes of Zack arias, bambi Cantrel and other sometime from home, sometime with the headphone at work and doing multitask!
I learn everything from this and everytime try to reproduce it! Now I'm back in France, it is harder to watch online and react through twitter but I watch the replay when it is a decent hour for me!
I always would like to come in the studio when I was il Vancouver and now because I'm in France I dream about a creative like workshop organized in Europe, like London, find a place, doing a workshop with european local photographer and model and concept!!!!!
I really appreciate the live reaction and feel like we are heard even if I'm French and watching from Europe! i can get answer from our mentor and this is awesome!
thank you
