No matter how much I read on
No matter how much I read on studio lighting or how many questions I asked -- nothing seemed to sink in, until ... ZACK ARIAS! For the first time in my life, it all came together and made sense. I wish I would've found this online workshop sooner. It would've saved me hundreds upon hundreds of dollars in gear I did not need (or know how to use), not to mention how much in frustration it would've saved me. THANK YOU, ZACK, FOR FINALLY GETTING ME TO MY "AH-HA" MOMENT!
Zack is in my mind, a true
Zack is in my mind, a true artist. He lives, breathes, suffers and succeeds with his art and craft through his work.
I'm always more a fan of people first, and professionalism second. Zack aces both exams.
I think that this workshop is critical in the development of any photographer and is one of the pillars of the CreativeLIVE suite. A "Must Have Core Course" of technical understanding, common sense business practice & application, taught by someone who truly wants to give to the community.
Highly recommended in every way. Yes, yes, yes, and double yes!
THANK YOU ZACK! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I'm an alum of both the
I'm an alum of both the OneLight DVD and Zack's OneLight in-person class. I pre-purchased this course because I knew it would be amazing. I was a bit worried that there would be overlap from his other course offerings but was pleasantly surprised. I tell every photographer that I meet about Zack, his classes and the wealth of knowledge up for grabs on his blog. If you have never shot in a studio or if you are seasoned pro, I guarantee you'll get more than your money's worth out of this course. Zack's work pays his bills, not the equipment companies. Therefore, he can be up front about his likes and dislikes. Zack also doesn't screw around with people, he's the real deal and tells it like it is. Mark my word, buy this class and get the best ROI of anything else you'll buy this year. Zack has the natural gift of teaching. You'll quickly realize that it's not about the latest and greatest gear, it's about your client's needs and knowing how to find solutions with what you've got. Enjoy.
I have taken Zack's OneLight
I have taken Zack's OneLight workshop and highly recommend it. But this workshop really helped me step up my game at the office.
I lead a photo team at a big consulting company, I am the experienced photographer on the team, the rest of my team are still learning some of the basics. This course has helped me fashion my own training sessions with my team.
But most importantly, when my company's marketing and communications team started talking about a web re-design and wanting to re-shoot all of the company's leadership, I knew this was a project I had to go after - so I studied the seamless set up portion of this workshop a couple times.
Today i got this email from that client in response to the first shoot of the project:
"Caroline – the photo is fantastic!!!"
I have to say that is 100% due to this workshop. This is a project my team wanted to take on and needed to take on to prove to our own company that yes, there are professional grade photographers right here on staff.
Mission accomplished.
Thanks Zack!
Although I am not a
Although I am not a professional photographer, I have grown up with a camera in my hand. I have always seen my world through a viewfinder. I learned through trial and error because the professional photographers I knew treated their craft like a dark secret.
Then I watched Zack's live workshop.
Sure I learned about modifiers and white seamless, but it was Zack's teaching style that really made a lasting impression. He was so no-nonsense and down to earth. His love for his craft and his art poured out as he taught. Also, it was obvious that he genuinely enjoyed teaching and this took the quality of his workshop into the stratosphere.
Needless to say, this shifted my understanding of what it means to be a true professional.
It comes as no surprise then that I bought the course. I continue to learn from Zack's workshop. It was the best photography investment I have ever made. Period.

I love that Zack keeps it
I love that Zack keeps it real, and discusses not just how to do things, but why. Not only do I learn a lot from this class, but I also get motivated each time I see it. This class is honestly the best money I've ever spent on photography training!
Zack - you're the man inside
Zack - you're the man inside all of the studio classes !!!
I've seen a lot of teachers, which are doing studio classes, but you do this on a very lively manner. I've never seen sudio classes like you do ;-)
At fist I like your kind of "Cheap Shots" ... you take great images with a kind of inexpensive gear - especially the one light stories.
Most of the other photographers are teaching classes by using a lot of light - you can fix the same shots with only one light *thumbs up*.
By my selfe i'm teaching "low budget" stuff, but many people are going the other way ... don't know why. Even the available light is the most powerfull light you can work with. Also my theory fits with your "one light" kind of take this shot.
Many people should think about your style of photography and related back to the beginning of photography (Adams, Feininger, ...) ;-)
Keep on teaching/living your kind of photography - it's worth it - this class is worth all the money ... and much more !!!

I have been a professional
I have been a professional photographer for more than 30 years and I learned more in Zack's videos than I had in my first 5 years. He is one of the best in my opinion. thanks for the course!
I missed the live event, but
I missed the live event, but am familiar with some of the other work that Zack has done, so we decided to purchase the download.
I was very impressed with this video series. Zack shoots a variety of scenarios over a couple of days and builds everything up from complete basics, that even someone completely new to studio lighting could understand, but also dives into lots of other detail, advice and some neat tips and tricks – so even if you have experience, I am sure that you will learn something.
Zack has a fantastic way of teaching that puts you at ease and lets you know that it isn't as difficult as you might think to take fantastic pictures. He makes the information very accessible.
I would highly recommend this video series - it has been one of the best of its type that I have seen. Well worth the cost of the download.

I have watched the class
I have watched the class online (despite the worldcup at the same time) as I reckon i have rewatched it about 8x on my iPod since! These 3 days are the best ever. I didn't know Zack before but am subscribed to all his feeds now! Bought his DVD,... AMAZING,

Zack Arias is a light master,
Zack Arias is a light master, though he would never admit it. My wife attended his OneLight workshop several years ago then we saw him again at the Woods' One seminar. We also got to hang with him at a meet-n-greet here. And now with the creativeLIVE stuff everyone can start to get a clue. Worth every penny.
Zack's workshop is ideal for
Zack's workshop is ideal for anyone who is new to studio photography and wants to see how to creatively setup and light different subjects.
Besides going into the techniques in great detail, Zack does two other things that I think are rare in a lot of educational videos: 1) he runs the gamut between doing a shoot with a very low-budget and contrasts that with the results you can get with the "right" equipment; and 2) you get the opportunity to see a professional in action -- interacting with his subjects, creating on the fly, working through a shoot with 1, 2, and multiple people. Invaluable expertise and wisdom is shared in an open, humorous and energetic forum. An absolute steal at $149.

Zack in three short days
Zack in three short days instructs you in the fundamentals of studio lighting. While the abilities to master such skills requires time and repetition on your own. The value of this course is the ability to review and practice at your own pace. With so much information packed in such a short amount of time, this course is a bargain at two or three times the price.
Never seen anyone explain the
Never seen anyone explain the technicality of photography as succinctly as Zack. Easy to comprehend and absolutely priceless information. The definitive authority on studio lighting.
I, much like others here,
I, much like others here, watched the course live, and also purchased the creativeLIVE course (in addition to having taken Zack's workshop in London). Zack is extremely personable, very to-the-point, and has a fantastic teaching ability, where he starts with the simple concepts and expands from there. Different types of lighting and effects overwhelmed me, until I watched Zack break it down into manageable, easy-to-understand pieces, and build from there. He truly has a gift of being able to communicate. I wholeheartedly recommended his course. If you are even the littlest bit ambivalent about whether or not to part with your money for this, don't be. You will NOT be disappointed. Your knowledge and your photos will improve immeasurably.

Zack is unique! His way of explaining is fun and clear.
I enjoyed each and every second of these sessions. And I think a learned TONS. He is great at teaching and amazing as a photographer.
The Studio Lighting class was
The Studio Lighting class was a great class with the right balance of technical, editorial, creative and business elements. Nothing was left out, great questions were answered and it was a no frill honest sharing of information from the real world. It has led me to building a white seamless in our meetup group studio where I also started to teach this concept. Zack has made me a better teacher. Every month I play some parts of the videos as a refresher. I could go on and on, just let me say it was AWESOME!

I always approach workshops
I always approach workshops with one thing in mind... if I can pick up one tip or trick I can add to the mental toolbox... then the workshop is worth the money spent. Zack might as well have been sponsored by Craftsman! I added several things to the tool bag with this seminar and I highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn more about lighting.. interacting with clients, posing... etc. It's topnotch to say the least. Keep up the great work Zack and the creativeLIVE team.

I watched the course live, purchased the creativeLIVE course and have taken Zack's workshop in Atlanta. This creativeLIVE course is the perfect complement to his other materials. Zack is humble, direct, practical, disarming, knows what the devil he’s talking about, and drives to the heart of the matter. Get it. You won't be disappointed.

Outstanding course. Zack lays down some very important fundamental methods in a down-to-earth way. I was glued to my computer on the weekend it debuted, and still use some of the practical ideas that Zack shared every time I pick up my camera. Entertaining, informative, highly recommended!

This is the best money I have ever spent in regards to my photography education! Zack cuts through the muck and gets straight to the heart of studio lighting. His course has given me the confidence to come in from out of the rain and shoot indoors! Thanks Zack!
Throughout the entire class,
Throughout the entire class, Zack not only delivers excellent technical knowledge about lighting, camera and client handling; but moves full speed ahead into practical application with a smile and great humor! This is by far, the best photography workshop/class I have experienced, all the way from my own home! Definitely a worthy investment; I am at my 3rd watch and still learning new things!
