Budget Lighting...cheap/qty vs. expensive/quality?

I'm on a budget and very new to lighting and am still learning. I plan to purchase lights soon and don't know if I should go for quality or quantity (meaning getting 1 light this month, then the stand the next month, then the soft box...you get the idea) Any suggestions out there?

It really depends on what you need the lighting for and on you what you are willing to spend! I started out with a continuous lighting system, Super inexpensive 200 for the whole set! It’s worked great as soon as I got used to using it. The only downer was if didn’t have a power plug I didn’t have light. So I bought a rechargeable battery with a plug it lasted me 2 hours and it was more than sufficient to start. Start where you can! PS I still use the continuous lighting from time to time!
