Converting MOV to MPEG for Roku and TiVo Viewing

I needed a more standard format than the QuickTime format provided by the HD course downloads. I use Linux for computer work outside of Lightroom, Elements and other applications. So, I was pleased to discover "ffmpeg" and the following conversion commend:

ffmpeg -i ${fileName}.mov -f mp4 -vcodec copy -acodec aac -strict experimental ${fileName}.mp4

where fileName is your MOV file without the extension. I simply put a loop around this command and convert the entire course while I eat dinner. And then theya re ready for me to watch on my Roku XS.
