Hi, In your training video's I see Zack Arias shooting tethered while previewing the images on the back of his camera. I work with a Nikon D700 and I am going nuts trying to find out how to work this. Can you help me on that?
Bye,
Leon

For Nikon cameras, try using the camera control script from DIYPhotoBits.com. I used this Windows script with my D80 to review photo booth images on a large plasma display. I think you might find this solution is less than ideal, though. It allowed the camera to retain files on its memory card, which is something you don't get when you tether the D700. I believe all tetherable Nikon cameras are designed to work this way -- no local file storage or review when tethered -- but with a max tethering distance of 16 feet with an unbuffered USB cable, your computer is close anyway.

Leon - is Zach using a Canon? I think it works differently with Nikon. I don't recall being able to activate the rear viewfinder when shooting tethered on Nikon.

Hi.. I am new in this CreativeLive! which its amazing! can anyone tell me how this works? I want to see the workshops on line! any ways.. Leon.. I do also have the D700 and I had really hard time trying to figure it out how the focus works! sometimes the pics comes out blurry.. but I understand now how it works more or less.. what are the problems you are facing with the camera? its an amazing one! I got it to shoot under difficult lighting situation.. as in church for example! I can raise the ISO up to 2,500 and the pictures wont come out with noise.. so.. its worth it... ok.. hi everyone and hope to hear from you soon! regards from Mexico!

Adobe LightRoom 3 has tethering built in. I did a commercial (product) shoot using a Nikon D700 in December tethered to a Mac running 10.6.8 using LightRoom. I did have problems with it. I would have to restart LightRoom every 10 Min or so - cycle the camera etc.. In the end it did work and my client was able to preview the photos (which was a requirement for this type of shoot). I would not recommend the setup if you need to keep a flow going or have to move around much. Perhaps Nikon Capture is better - I have not tried it.

That's because he's shooting with a canon, In his workshop he had the students hooked up with there own cameras and all the Nikon shooters had to look at the tv,it didn't show up on the back of there cameras

Tethering is for sissys who cat tell their clients to get out of my creative space and let me shoot. I've had nothing but issues with it and it messes up the vibe of my shoot. Some live by it but Im all over the place and to spontaneous for tethering. Im sure in some product shoots it can come in very useful but when it comes to people , no way ! Not for me!
