** What % to pay the hair&makeup artist?
What percentage of a booking should we give the hair and makeup artist?
What's fair, what's not, AND what's too much for them to ask? I don't want to cheat them, but I also don't want her/him to cheat me.
ZERO idea here! Please help. Thank you so much!
I recall Sue saying in one of the other sessions that she pays her MUAs something like $100 or so. I don't think it was more than $150. They're proficient in hair and makeup. She wants them to be able to do more than one thing and if I'm not mistaken, they're also able to do editing as well. I think she said she doesn't pay any more than that. It's take it or leave it because they're getting the experience and also a kick a** portrait for their portfolio. (Not her words, but mine.) I'm sorry I can't remember the amount exactly, but maybe someone else can confirm. I'll correct myself if I find that amount to be off.
ETA: Found it! She talks about this in the Glamour course. She said she doesn't ask the MUA how much they charge, she tells them she pays $100 for hair and make up (per session) and asks if they're available.
