Save Yourself From These Hilarious Photoshop Blunders

Think you can spot an egregious Photoshop blunder? It’s actually harder than you might think. Some are subtle, like the suspiciously smooth complexion of a supermodel’s face in a makeup ad — while more blatant examples violate the basic structure of the human body, like a sixth finger on one hand or disproportionately long legs. Though rarely intentional, these hilarious Ps mishaps are abundant in our visual, advertisement-dominated world.

Photoshop is, without a doubt, the most powerful and essential tool for any photographer or graphic designer. Through color changes, touch-ups, and a plethora of other editing capabilities, you can manipulate an image and focus the viewer’s attention, usually on a product or person. Unfortunately, an overzealous pursuit of perfection in Photoshop can sometimes be disastrous to the image, distracting the viewer from the intended message.

See if you can spot the blunder in each of the following images, courtesy of Ps Disasters:

This one’s easy, but really makes you wonder how this ad made it to the printer. Perhaps the designer simply forgot to add a leg to this amputee model — or maybe they just loved the rustic look of the additional foliage as a replacement for the model’s right leg. Either way, it’s a classic Ps gaffe.

Honey, can I give you a hand with that fleece pullover? — or two, or three? The extra hand on the woman’s right shoulder is easy to miss on a quick glance, but if noticed, will not leave viewers thinking about the mid-season sale.

Does this pet carrier double as an invisible cloak? Instead of snapping a photo of a dog comfortably nestling in the crate, someone used Photoshop to combine an image of a dog with that of the carrier, albeit they forgot the back half of the fluffy creature. The idea was strong — the execution was not.
