Last week, we published Ben Von Wong’s tips for creating an epic photograph. One point Ben drives home throughout is that you don’t need fire, explosions or intense special effects to make an epic image. For Ben, it’s about the story. In his latest blog post, Ben unveiled what is quite possibly his most powerful story to date.
Answering the request of Nicole, a 54 year-old shy fan with a disclosed illness, Ben sprang to his feet with his unrivaled enthusiasm in an effort to bring her dream to life. What was her dream? To work with the young and talented photographer to capture something worth leaving behind, to capture beautiful images of herself before the terminal nature of her illness set in.
Not only did Ben make it happen, but he was given a very rewarding experience in return. He had this to say after finishing the project; “And though these images that she ended up loving, were created to bring Nicole’s dreams to life, I’ve never felt more alive… because doing something that matters makes all the difference.”
