When I say “pop-punk,” the first name that probably comes to your mind is The Story So Far. They’ve been leading the new-ish wave of pop-punk bands for a few years now, with their debut LP “Under Soil And Dirt” putting them on the map in a big way. They’re in the studio now with producer Sam Pura (side note — Sam is also a CreativeLive teacher, so if you like his work then definitely check his two classes out) working on album #3, and from what I have heard I expect it to blow the band up in a big way. It’s seriously that good.
We caught up with TSSF bassist Kelen Capener to get a quick studio update, trade stories about how high-energy Sam is, and talk about how they deal with the pressure of topping their last two albums. It’s always a pleasure to talk with Kelen, so definitely go say hi to him next time TSSF comes through town.
And apologies for the crappy phone connection during the first part of this — it gets better about halfway through.
