Extra: Art of Composition, Spring Tour 2010

talking about the spring tour that I will be giving Ah in Toronto, New York, Washington D. C. Los Angeles in the ah towards the end of May throughout the month of June. And this is really a seminar. That's a full day seminar, and it's, ah, a couple of $100 I think it's well worth it, because I will talk for eight hours about composition and we'll have a break for lunch. But I cover these subjects, finding the inspiration, what inspires me and how you confined your own inspiration. I draw from the art world. I use Renaissance painters, Abstract Expressionists. I make the case for finding inspiration from anything around you point of view. I'll take some of my favorite photos I've ever shot over the last 30 years, and I'll show various photos leading up to those photos and why and how. I was thinking at the time I take the picture so really illuminating and and I've shot for it, but also relying on my archive, I created what I call the 10 deadly sins of composition, and I'm drawing this ...

from from the tens of thousands of photos have critiqued over the years. What are common mistakes in compositions and how they could be made better? Um, I talk about the lenses that they use. I I think I surprised people by how few lenses I use. I've used about three different lenses, which comprises 90% of the photos I take elements of design, color and light is another lecture. I talk about landscape, wildlife and humanity, and so it's a full day, and I think it's worth the effort. I love teaching. I think teaching is a noble, um, occupation, and I take teaching seriously these air. The city's I'll be teaching these workshops in and, um, Quincy is on the outskirts of Boston. Alexandria is on the outskirts of Washington, D. C. Minneapolis and a Costa Mesa just outside of Los Angeles.
