Reflective Light

and the last type of light is reflected light, and it's when I can. I will photograph people and subjects in very bright conditions. It's in the shadows. It's in the great caverns around the Platte planet. The caves it's in, um, snow caves. It's the way the light is reflecting or coursing its way through that. I'm picking up that reflective light, so I'm often crawling in under very thin cornices of snow or snow caves. I'm not recommending it because it's very dangerous. These were photographed when I was young and foolish a couple of years ago. This is in a hot in Ethiopia. It's useless to photograph outside when the sun is high in the sky, but in the shadows you can pick up and work all day. know, I'm spot reading off. The face is illuminated by the light, and it's that reflective nature. It's the way I photographed these camel drivers in the Sahara Post Sunset Light on in San Francisco. It's the Buddhas in a meme are, but it's all that kind of reflective light. There's harsh light just a few feet away, but in the shadows it becomes magical. So this is mysterious light. This is beautiful light. It's It's not traditional light. You know, it's not the sunlight. It's reflected light. And if I'm using sunlight than it's putting subjects like in this case of this ah young tour AEG, which are people off the desert on the southern reaches of Morocco and on the northern reaches of Mali, they wear turbans to practice protect their head from the sun. It's bright noonday light just a few feet away, but in the shadows of the doorway, it becomes soft and nice, beautiful light to work with. Young man in Bhutan, you saw earlier those three models that I was photographing with candlelight. I'm just using that kind of dreamy light. This is a young girl in Myanmar, a great location again, that I'll be conducting workshops in the near future and again in the shadows of the underground cities in Morocco. I call him underground. It's using that soft bounce light that suddenly transforms the subject into something magical, which also happens, by the way, in Antelope Canyon and some of those deep chasms in Arizona, the best light is noonday light, but 70 feet below the surface, where all that direct light is bouncing off the various walls above you. The first exposure of the water is an eight minute exposure of the moonlight reflecting on the water eight minutes. Six hours later, I took a second exposure of the source of the light, which is the full moon. The trees remain live and intact, and this is taken ah, half hour to hour after sunset, where there's still a little bit of lingering light in the post sunset sky.
