Brand Yourself as an Experience
business card like, what is a business card when I sure somebody who I am, I need to be able to give them a better experience on a business card? And so, at the time, I decided I wanted to do a video business card and brand myself as an experience. So this was a bride and groom who got married and Cayman Islands, and they decided they wanted to do a post wedding trash. The dress in the middle of Stingray City with a bunch of sniggering is and like you go three miles out into the ocean to a sandbar, And then people were feeding. The stingrays was so they all know this, and they like, congregate there. But, I mean, they are dangerous, but they're so kind of used to people there that unless you really provoked one or stepped on them and scared them, you know you won't have like a Steve Irwin moment. But it was obviously in the back of my head the whole time, because in the water and literally, the stingrays are like sucking on my stomach and like all over me, and I'm like shuffling my fee...
t so I don't step on one and trying to get the shot. And it's like this whole thing. And I was like, This needs to be documented like this shoots ridiculous. And I I want to show like what I have to do. Like, you could look at the foot like, cut me out of it. If you look at the photo of the bride and groom the water, you have no idea what went into was going on there. So I thought this would be a great opportunity to create ah, user experience, sort of video business card myself. Granted, this is when I first started launching destination weddings and I was really trying to figure out, like, what could I do to make people want to fly me across the world because, like, why am I so special? It could hire somebody in the Cayman Islands? Why are they going to spend all this extra money and flying me out? And so I felt that I needed to kind of show them that Well, this is why this is what I will do for you and this is what I'll produce. And so, at the time, I mean, I think this was back in 2008 or something when I when I did this video. So it's still like a little low tech. And like I had my sis tensions shoot stuff, we had some like GoPro. We just kind of like shot stuff while we're shooting and put it together. But I want to show you this video because the idea behind it was we all have video built in their cameras we have in our cell phones. There's no excuse why you can't cut something like this together. Have a friend help you do it and show you and what you can offer as a user experience swimming. He and we specialize in Spanish wedding and international child photography. Trend now is for weddings, brides and grooms. Teoh travelled exact locations and make it even more of a forest occasion way pretty much have three hours. Totally fine. But I mean, we're gonna get got jet skis they wanted You may want to think like, luxurious this You think I think almost like a lifestyle ever travel leisure or some sort of cool to get them like speeding and like, Okay, Like flying? Yeah, they want like that. Well, James Bond feel like this is us, like sure better be sick. I feel that I tracked interest, spirit, sort of out of the box. Tend to get weddings that are just about wedding day itself. There about the entire experience. Just told that in order to get the starfish, you just like, look, you'll see them just walk around. People think of me as fearless. They think of me as a Ventress, spontaneous as vibrant, funny. And I think that that shows my photography my styles really colorful, really happy, really loud and exotic. And that is what I try to portray. Way Do ask photographers is really because not only are we capturing moments and immortalizing memories, but they're that much more important because once in love type, thing and way really have one chance to get shots. It felt like so direction. Important day. Yeah, I was asked to go to the Cayman Islands and photograph a bride and groom instantly City. That was the last stop of our day. Bryant Room wanted to go on trash dress and jump into the water with their clothes on and getting down and dirty stinker. So I was like you found the right person, this huge black things in the water. There's those ominous shadows with sting rays. I think of myself as the Indiana Jones of Wedding Destination. Little secret that's willing to do whatever it takes to get shot crazy adventure seeker topper for experiment that she is with scary. Every part of your body tells you like watch up like you're in the water and they're standing by your like I love that I can blend my travel photography with my wedding photography and have all of my passions wrapped up in one and actually get to do that for living. It's amazing. I wake up and I feel blessed every day. What, every day to be experience. I want to do as much as possible, and I'm just ready for anything. How do you do there underwater? That was like a little clip that we put together, and it was really just a show, her personality and we having fun on a wedding, A Z Comptel with the most crazy well produced. But I loved showing that because I mean, that was such a crazy shoot. Honestly, we had to chum the water to get all these stingers to come to us and we have, you know and then meanwhile, I'm having to, like, try. It is not like they cooperate early trying to grab the slick singer and wrapping around you, like handed to the bride and groom like Take the shot, Was it? It was a ridiculous shoot, and I'm so glad that I was able to showcase that because there's so many times and I find myself on location like this is ridiculous. I don't know this part of the job description, but it was so fun and awesome at the same time. And the photos that came out of it were great. And I think it was just a great way to showcase people like this is This is who I am and and this is what I will do for the shot. So that was my video business card, and I think that that's an important thing Toe have as a travel. Not even this photographer but voted photojournalist and a journalist is toe have some way for a brand to see you and how you work and kind of what your persona is. I think it makes you more riel, and a lot of times it'll make people. If I'm submitting to a total stranger about coming to their country or or shooting a hotel or something like that, it's cool to send them almost like this little clip of me and an example of my work. And later on we'll talk about writing and stuff because it just makes me more realism person, and they're more willing and to want to help me out and to bring me over there.

I've been listening for, like, two hours. OMG. Like, I could, like, you know, get more from this if, like, she stopped jibbering and get to, like, you know, the topic? She sounds more like a rambling stream-of-thought teenager than a mature adult giving a succinct organized presentation. In two hours, I have, like, learned about two or three things I can, like, use. Like, Ehhhh...? It's like, bor-ing! Like, whutttt? Is she, like, 15 or what? Sheesh.
