Creating Equal Values of RGB

Did I mention equal values of red green and blue make gray I mentioned that let's take a look at that what that means I'm going to create three layers I'm going to feel one with white one with black in one with equal values of red green and blue or middle gray I'm going to put each one of these layers into the color blend mode what do I have great skill women's right equal values of red green and blue produce great all right let's do it again zero zero zero that was two fifty five to fifty five to fifty five this is zero zero zero what do we have grayscale okay one twenty eight one twenty eight one twenty eight what do I have now watch what happens no matter which one of these layers I choose do you see it change that's because equal values of red green and blue produce gray and I did mention this was ground hog office it day for photography right? So color management right? Anybody use it anybody calibrate their monitor if you don't you shouldn't since you're sitting in here suffering...

through me um you've made a decision you are not of the faint of heart so if color calibration matters any where it matters most here wait a minute dude there's no color here it's just it's just gray right all right here's the thing let's say it was wearing a red shirt and you take a picture of it and you look at it on the monitor you don't necessarily know if it's the exact read you just know that it is uh red or it's green so you don't necessarily know and it can be a little bit off and it still would be ok but you certainly truly know was going to say an expletive but I caught myself um it was sure us but I appreciate they say that creative really creative people swear a lot and people that tell the truth swear even more all right so let's take a look at this gray if it matters any where it matters most in great because if it isn't a grade do you know it pretty quickly right because the grays equal values of something so let's just move this three points okay so I'm going to move that color three points and I'm going to can you see that different the glare a little just check to make sure yeah that's coming out a little glare e I would see if you can do you see the shift in color? Okay it's not grey anymore it's a neutral green but it's not gray so if color management matters anywhere it matters the most when you're dealing with chromatic grayscale images and the reason that is is you can see that that is not grey to green gray so in the conversion process you need to have as tighter control, as you possibly can have.
