Take Action Today

What I want to do now is just encourage you to think about how you can start taking action today because as we know, now is the time to start your holiday marketing regardless of when you're watching this. Now is probably the time to start your holiday marketing, so I was about what to do if you're feeling overwhelmed. I was like, yes, that's me, first of all, just focus on one top tier promotion. What is your one big thing this holiday season? And focus on that? Don't worry about, too don't worry about three just focus on one make and then make email capture your number one priority everything that you're doing on social media ask yourself, is this driving people back to my email list? Is this getting people excited? Is it encouraging them to sign up for your list? Make that your biggest priority and then scheduled time on your calendar once a week during the holiday season to email your list, your email us to means nothing if you don't actually email them or better yet right on sched...

ule them in advance. You guys have so many tools from abby's class, just get it done now do it even if the photos aren't done yet, go in right the copy. And then come back in when the photos were done, plug the photos in hit schedule and go you, khun save drafts and male chimp, so get as much of that done in advance is you can and then again, if you're feeling overwhelmed, focus on only one social media platform and make it one where you're most likely to find your ideal customer new customers on twitter, don't worry about it your customers, not a fifteen year old kid don't worry about snapchat, you know, worry think about where your customers and just pick one, because the reality is they all have such big user base is that if you could be successful at one it's better than being mediocre it a lot of them and then just remember our cycle, right? So the whole idea is bill the anticipation capture email, reach out to your email list and then repeat so as long as you kind of can keep this in mind and just ask yourself, where am I my anticipation you don't capture reach out, okay, I did that start over and this's really as simple and what we just covered a lot today. But this is really as complicated as it has to be, so keep that in mind. And then you one of my favorite things to always just asked is what can I do to make money today so I wantto have you guys we want to wrap up I kind of get you guys to think about this question what can you do today and I know the end of the day and I know we're tired but I don't like to use the word tomorrow because it's really easy for tomorrow to never happen so what is something that you can do today that's going to help you make money in the holiday season so one thing you can do today that's going to help boost your holiday sales one thing you could do today um well obviously I need to get this project going so I think tonight if I could take one adult coloring book picture making into a children's version it's a good step to the department I'm going tio review my current network and see who I could reach out to perfect no reach out to my email these excellent um create a uh campaign and melt him great a template perfect organize what I've learned this week that is actually a big stack yeah I'm going to re watch this whole last segment my brains yeah actually and actually doing plotted out for yourself I do a listing to the focus on the cooperating perfect that's a great one I'm callin during out all my reminders fantastic and that's actually what we're hearing of the chat rooms is the most people are talking about right now from the segment is really the calendar and how they could do it and some and there's there's sort of a fun debate over you know shouldn't be an ever notice should it be on paper right? And the reality is that it should be whatever you're most likely to check I can't I love that get to work book, but I can't use the paper planner because I never remember to bring it I need every every detail of my life on my phone or it doesn't exist and that's why I love evernote but some people need to write it down if the thing that works best for you is a giant calendar posted on the wall of your studio post a giant calendar on the wall of your studio so absolutely without a doubt take all of the steps and plug them into whatever method works for you because there's no one right method it's your method is is what's working so you want to focus on that? Yeah, you know the other one that I really like here best, sofia says tell people that I'm in business and I think that's another, but I feel like that's like the best one that we've heard because it sort of encapsulates everything that you've been talking about today he absolutely that such a that such a big one right there are people here I am I have products for sale you can buy them on that's such a good one so you guys are troopers because not only are we at the end of this day but we are at the end of the entire five day conference and I know based on the glaze looks and everybody dies that you guys have learned a lot this week so from any of the classes that you've done this week I want you to share one thing that was like a huge breakthrough moment for you I know there were so many but just pick one was a great breakthrough for you this week I'm learning the importance of the priority of email lists and email marketing yeah and I know you guys learned a ton and abby's class about that so much so much stuff that you can go back through I can't think of one today which I think that's right to fight that you should be following your peers you should be following your client. I was like, oh, I have all my friends yeah you in particular really want to be following your client? What better way that twenty I think twenty three percent of your sales come from e mails instead of ah online yeah that's a that's a stocking standing for a lot of people I would say from monday's class on pricing that once you raise your prices you know that you're you're really customers your your ideal customers are waiting for you just raise your prices and media yes they are waiting for him and they want to hear from you absolutely she stole my yeah she said you know your best customers waiting for you to email them they are they get that social media connections straight to the email list yeah it's really it's a really big jail cause right your best customers they want to be on the email us they want to hear from you that my achilles heel of having a hard time with scheduling is something I'm really going to have to attend to yeah it's something that you want to and you know if you can be a little bit loose and free about it but if it's not you then just schedule it and put those reminders in and and you scheduling and planning it's a muscle so the more you do it the easier it gets I saved the newsletter idea that's not that scary and it's something I would really have fun doing yeah for you mark it doesn't have to be scary it shouldn't should actually be fun what I always think is really funny is that makers and creative for them marketing is a scary business thing but in big companies marketing are the weird creative, funky people right, we are the weird creative monkey people, so marketing should be justice fun for us as making our products, praising my prices and valuing my product x because I know that they are worth more than what I had them listed for, and it really has worked out, um, I was at home actually watching so immediately, I was like an animal, and then the next day, I was like, no, you know what, I'm going to do it, and I've actually seen a ticking myself this week that is fantastic, and I really didn't think that I was going tio I was really nervous, but now I'm charging shipping, which I wasn't, and I increased my prices and some of them I doubled my prices on things, and I've sold those items, and my visits my page have increased this week, so either there's some correlation here thiss week has been my top selling leak like this year because you're now showing people the actual value of your pieces, you're communicating that through the price and it's clearly paying off that's awesome congratulations, thank you. That that's really fantastic to hear that that just really completely makes my day from the chat rooms we have kim was is agreeing with you she's, saying, you know, her big takeaway was raise your prices because your ideal customers really are out there waiting for you read scorpio is saying, you know, with lisa's class about how to write more effective descriptions. Um molly vanroekel said last night, the panel discussion about social media really made the angels sing for me. I've never been able to understand how it all work us together, so I thought that was really sweet to yeah, I think that's so great is that idea of thinking about it as a system instead of this piece in this piece is they have to, you know, they have different functions, as you said, like what you send your mailing list is different than what you sent post on social media, but they're all part of the same system, and they're ideally all driving people towards hitting that buy button. Yeah, yeah, there's just it's quite the best everybody right now is just is kind of excited and running well, and I think that we should wrap up because I want everyone to go ahead and get to work and start taking action on their holiday marketing plan. Excellent. Well, megan thank you so much for this. This has been a fantastic course. You know it's been it's been so much fun to watch this whole week has been really fun way have a lot of really fun comments in the chat rooms as well and speak you after saying I don't want to say goodbye to this guys dirt bike is saying I serendipitously found this I found out about this conference on wednesday so I bought the conference thank you dirt bike I'm feeling site though to start I've put off so much of this for so long I'm glad to know I'm not alone um and sandra glover clark sandra glover clark who has been with us for I believe all week yeah he has actually been a super active participant in our make a living selling what you make facebook group is excellent thank you she's saying I love all of megan's classes her firsthand experience and communication is awesome I love this class because I'm not really a newbie but I certainly need more education and this class is most definitely educating me so yeah it's just it's been great. It was SO helpful to actually see Megan's (tentative) schedule for her marketing plan. It's great to see people who are makers and how they run their business rather than teaching what they 'would' do or 'could' do. Thanks Megan!
