Lightroom: Copy and Paste Settings

Now remember, I have another photograph right here to the right of this photograph that's almost exactly the same, and I obviously want both of them. So I want all the work that I did on this image to be transferred to the other image. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna click on the image that I've finished. I'm gonna go over to the adjustment area, and at the very bottom of all the adjustments is these three dots. If I click on it, I can copy the settings from one image to the other. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna choose the edit settings to copy. So I'm not gonna copy everything, because remember, they've moved a little bit, and so some of the stuff that I've done might not work. So I'm gonna choose the settings I wanna copy and I'm going to look for the right settings. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna look down here and say, okay, I obviously want to change, I want the profile to go over and I want the brightness and the color and all the effects and everything like that to come ...

over. The only thing I'm not sure about is the tools themselves. So I'm gonna click this drop-down menu, and I can choose what I want to come over. Like, for instance, I want the radial gradient to come over because that's kind of a general thing, but the brush itself is going to be different. And so if I copy that over, there would be a bright spot in different places. So rather than do that, I'll just leave that unchecked and hit Copy. Now I'm gonna go to the image that I just haven't done anything to, and I'm gonna click on those three dots again, and I'm gonna paste. And of course there's shortcuts to all these, as well. And I'm gonna paste those settings, and boom. So let's go back to our original image that we really like. I love this image. I think it's ready to be shared. If you really want to work on this image a little bit more, there are a couple things, just small things that could be fixed on it, and that we're gonna do inside of Photoshop next.

I enjoyed this quick tutorial. A very good introduction to how to use lightroom.
