So let's get started with setting the foundation I know this is kind of like the boring stuff no one wants to talk about this but it's really important to think about the fundamentals before and I I believe it's important because it helps you strategize it helps you plan things out so that the results you get are optimal are the best results that you can possibly make happen so just to clarify the course title of this workshop is it says giveaways and contest right? So just to clarify it contests there it's typically based on merit so it's more like a competition where you get people to do specific things and you choose based on other votes or you decide based on set criteria what makes the winner the winner giveaways on the other hand, there's usually no criteria it's usually a random drawing so that makes it really easy for people to join and throughout this whole course I'm going to be using them interchangeably let's talk about debunking some giveaway and contest miss myths because...

I know for those of you guys were here watching this you know kudos to you you're probably here thinking like there is potential with doing giveaways in contests for your business. For all those people who are kind of skeptical with how giveaways and contest can help your business, I want to kind of set something straight and go through some of the possible scenarios that you might have gone through when you've done your own giveaways and contests and how if they weren't very successful these might be reasons why so miss number one giveaways attract the wrong type of customer. This only happens if you offer the wrong prize, so we'll get a little bit in more in depth and how to select your prize. But the prize can really make or break your give away so it's important that we talk about that because I see so many people making this mistake and I just wanted to shake them like no, don't do that giveaways make my brand look cheap, but only if you do them too often so a good frequency. I would say if you were to ask me, I would think once every month is a good frequency if you did it once every week, then yeah, you know, people are going to start to expect that well, my chances of winning are pretty high because you do we give away once every week I might win one of these days, so they're going to wait for you, right? But if you spread it out once every month, once every two months that's pretty good and when you think about that that's not too much work to do either one to do giveaways in contest to plan that out to set up your promotion every once a month is pretty it's in the grand scheme of things it's not much work for you giveaways train my customers to wait for them kind of like a discount, you know where if you there's some people who argue that if you give out discounts to often than people are just going to wait until you give them a discount. But again, it's on lee, if you do it too often and just the general giveaways don't work, but only if you don't set it up correctly. And this is what we're going to be talking about in this first segment of this workshop, where I'm going to show you some of the specific steps you need to take to ensure that your giveaways get the best limelight with your fans. Giveaways don't need to be promoted. I don't know if I should say this, but I feel like I should say this it's kind of like that beating a dead horse, but you know if you build it, they will not come just because you have give away just because you're giving away a free product doesn't mean that people are going to suddenly appear out of the blue to want to join, as I mentioned there, so many people these days doing giveaways every day want I mean today, just go out there and ask in your face the group's who's doing the giveaway. You can probably get, like five to ten people, at least who are running giveaways. So you really want to make sure you're giveaway stands out, and everything in your business needs to be promoted. We can't assume that just because we created it, that someone's going to come find it. We have to tell the world about it.
