Thank you so much everyone for being here. I'm super excited. So, this class is called creating impact with color gels. If you know my work, if you are familiar with my what I do, color is something that I am very aware of, and I put a lot of thought and effort into my images. So, in this course I'm gonna break down everything step by step on how to shot, my camera setting, why I shoot manual, everything manual, including the white balance, I shoot Kelvin, and why I use gels. The number one question I get asked a lot, is that I use blue gels a lot. And, I don't actually. I rarely ever use blue gels, even though we have some here. We'll use it for another purpose. But I will break down and show you how I do my thought process and how I create my images. So, here we go guys, lets get started. First, I wanna thank a couple companies that I work with. They're amazing. Bayphoto, they've been with me for almost 10 years now, always supported me. Triple Scoop Music, I don't know them but they...
're amazing. And ProFoto, I don't know if you guys know but I'm with them. So, they also provide all the lights here which are wonderful to work with. And, I also have a great relationship with Canon. And, I just want to thank these folks for providing everything and helping bring me here along with CreativeLive.
Light is essential to creating cinematic images as well as color. In this class, join five time portrait photographer of the year Alexis Cuarezma as he breaks down his process for using color gels to make an image that grabs your attention. He will teach how he sets up his camera, creates a color scheme, and selects gels to get the desired image in camera. He'll go over simple color schemes that can be done with only two lights, as well as a full stylized image using multiple lights and color gels.
