All right, We're moving on to Samantha with Notify. Hello. Great idea. Thank you. Great to see you again. I got a little sneak peak preview yesterday and the thing I love about thoughtful stationary. I was just co hosting Jason. Whoa, Max, I think bigger make more. And one of the tips that he gives is to really get on top of that gratitude and thank you. Thanking other people. So I see so many unique ways to thank other people. Ah, lot of stationary. Tell us about Notify. Sure. Notify eco friendly paper products company I've expanded recently in the last year or so into stock goods including, you know, tea towels and tote bags. Things like that. And I sort of fell into doing city inspired designs that it's all photographs, but I take myself and then the designs I create. So I've just recently launched a New York collection and in Oakland collection, and I have, of course, the San Francisco Collection. It's very city inspired. It is. It's just just fell into that. Yes. Wonderful. Okay, ...

so walk us through some of these products. Tea towel? Yes, I would. This is yes. These air teach house. Does that mean he really just kind of fancy dish tiles? But you know, they can also be on display, so to speak in your kitchen are in a bathroom. Yes. OK, so I do this around the holidays where it's the tale that's over on the loop on the oven, but no one's allowed to use it. Don't touch it. Don't touch it. It's just there for to be pretty. OK, I get it. All of these things, air functional as well wash and all that. But yes, they're very pretty. They are. Okay, so this is what is this? So these air box sets. This is the San Francisco lovers, assorted set. So I have the San Francisco said I do the New York lovers. That and now the Oakland set. They're all eight different images of each of the cities. And so I just doing a sort of box set. A lot of people started telling me they were wanted to frame them, So I started to make larger prints of all of the different works and then expanded recently into doing you know, like this is the Brooklyn Bridge ornament taxis, the Golden Gate Bridge I mean, just all kind of things. The coaster sets now, so it's just kind of like expanding the product line into more gift e items. Okay, so tell us about yourself as an artist. Sure. Where did you get your start? Well, I've always been into photography. It's something that I have enjoyed for a long time on Deny went Teoh College for graphic design and advertising and worked in the Francisco advertising world for 10 years and then moved into doing this. That's a side business, a little hobby and realized. I actually enjoy working for myself and creating a business. So here, iam. Okay, so remind me, how long have you been in? I've been in business for about three years. Okay, so what's that three years been like, Do you want to talk to us about the faces or the evolution? Definitely. The first year was a lot of craft shows lugging a lot of this stuff around mainly the San Francisco Bay area. Just trying out different markets and trying different products each time, seeing what worked and what didn't on. Guy started to get into a lot of retail stores and decided that I really liked selling wholesale and focused mainly on that. I have a new online presence. I have my own online shop, and then I sell on Etsy and other things. Okay, but Oh, thank you. I didn't wanna lock me here. Some people say I I got into the retail store. That doesn't just happen. No, it doesn't. That. What did you do? The Oh, you know, just putting yourself out there. I I also do a lot of mailers, so I put together because it's paper products. It's a stationary. People wanna hold it. They want to see if they want to touch it. Know what the paper feels like, you know, on that sort things. So I target the stores that I like around the country. And I put together a little mailer with samples, and I send those out reads you could actually use your own products and marketing. Hey, look, it's a note. I wrote it. That's wonderful. Any any other sort of turning point or conversations or things that you initiated that really made a difference for where you are now. Yeah. I mean, I think you know, having the city specific items really works you know, to target, like a full city. And so Samer says, Go. I just was doing a lot of events. Just tryingto have the exposure. Get my name out there, and buyers would come to smaller craft shows or things like that. And that's how I started to make those partnerships. Great. Great, great, great, Wonderful. Okay, so you as an artist, and this kind of can come up. Some people are full of ideas. They're they're overflowing with them. Are you one of those people? Are you the person that needs to constantly re inspire to stoke the fire? Which one are you? And how do you keep that going? Same w a combination. OK, I'm very inspired, obviously. But just everything around me, I carry a camera with me, tried to take photographs that whenever I can. But then, you know, I mean, certain business things get in the way of that. Whether it's, you know, I want to create a whole entire line of this. Well, that's gonna cost money. So you have to do it in stages and sort of plotted out in planet. Yeah. So there is a system to creativity? I think so. I mean, you never really want to harness and keep somebody back from that. But when it comes to the business aspect, you definitely have to be mindful of how you're spending your money. Yeah, I was there a time where you had, where you thought that you should do something or you did something and it didn't work on How did you sort of stop yourself and saying, You know, I need to sort of detach my emotion or my thing that I thought it was gonna be. Have you had a moment like that? How did you turn that around? And advertising. Presenting creative ideas all the time. And they get shot down one after the other. You pretty much lose connectivity. So you were already in shape for this exercise. So I just start with smaller runs of things. Try. I print a lot at my house and do it that way and just see what works. Okay? Yeah, maybe some of those mailers or great ideas for testing. Yeah. Do you keep track of what mailers you send to who they're ideo? Yeah. And how do you track the progress? Just that they send you an email or right? Usually if if I get that call back without email with an order them great. If not, I usually wait a few weeks and maybe try toe, approach them in a different way. Okay, Fantastic. And it seems like there might be a bit of networking that one needs to dio not just with other artists and makers. How do you know where to mark to network and with who and well, I definitely you know, I read magazines and try to keep current on. You know what stores air happening in which boutiques are opening up in different areas on. Then just try to see if they would be a good fit for my work. And then also I look at other stationers and see you know where they selling and what I like. Teoh also sell their you know, and then just see see what what kind of store it is and check it out either usually online, because sometimes they're not in my area. Right? Right. Yeah. It's amazing how this big wide world has gotten so much smaller because of the connection that we have through the internet and obviously the connection that rebuilding right now. You know, this is a perfect example of what you're watching. Right now we're building conversations with artists and makers and getting to know not just the beautiful art that they make. But what's the why why did you do it? How do you keep being inspired? How do you keep yourself fresh as a business owner? And then I think there's a really interesting thing that you said, which is that you have that advertising background So other parts of your life as a business owner can apply to being an artist as well, definitely. And you sometimes forget that. Go in separate. But sometimes it's really not. You're always learning, right? Oh, definitely. And there's many days where I think my geometry teacher or somebody for for all those math skills that I never thought I would use and now Dio exactly yeah, thank you, Mrs or Mr Whomever. Well, great. So where can we find you online? Give us the deep eso notify dot com is my website, but that is spelled N o t e like a note N o T e I f y dot com, right? So there's there's note. If I fall in how you spell it. That's right. It's been such a pleasure chatting with you. And you're extremely talented and way just look forward, Teoh. Your continued success. Thank you very much.
