Fusion Page: Basic Workflow

Let's have a look at the Basic Workflow of how you would bring a clip into fusion and start working with it. Inside of our edit page, we have all of our clips here and if I'm just over a clip with my play head I can switch to the fusion page anytime just by clicking on the fusion button down below. And it will bring that clip into the fusion page. From there, I can add nodes and do all kinds of fancy things to it down here, select certain nodes and adjust them in the inspector, animate things in the spline and the key frame panel until I really love what's going on. And then when I'm finished with the shot I can just switch back to the edit page and it will live here in the timeline. I don't have to render things out. I don't have to convert anything. It just lives there sort of as an effect in the edit page. The other way to open something infusion is to make infusion composition. So, in basically any page with a media pool I can right click in the empty space and select new fusion co...

mposition. And we'll just call this fusion composition one sounds great. I'll hit create. And then that lives here in my media pool. If I double click on it, that will open up this blank composition here in the fusion page. And from there I can add media, I can generate graphics kind of really whatever I want to do but those are kind of the major ways that you get into the fusion page and you really start working. It always either comes from the timeline or the media pool. It doesn't, you can't really make something yourself inside of the fusion page without out kind of doing that step first.

Helpful class if you are interested in DaVinci Resolve. Casey Faris presents the information clearly and doesn't waste time. Looking forward to his Color Correction and Fusion classes.
