And we couldn't be more excited to be bringing this live event to all of you out there online. Whether you're watching us on DP Review or on Creativelive, we have got an amazing day in store for you. My name is Ken Klosterman and this is Susan broader. We will be your hosts today off the show, along with a slew of amazing people from DP reveal, but also from some special guests and some folks that you're going to recognize if you are a creativelive fan. We've been host here a crowd of life for the last three years or more over 3/3 years. So there might be a lot of new people joining us from the DP Review site and welcome, Welcome, everyone. And why don't you explain to them what creative life is all about and what we do here? That's a great idea. We're so excited about this partnering here with DP Review today and so again, if those of you who are watching on DP Review and this is your first time seeing creativelive, we are an online educational network. We have an entire channel that is dedicated to photography and video education. We bring some of the top instructors from all over the world who are really working professionals. These are the people that are doing for darker free day in day out, but are also amazing educators, and we have classes that are available to watch for free any day, any time zone anywhere in the world. When they are alive, you can watch online, you could participate. You can ask questions just like you're gonna be able to do today. So it is live. It's a virtual classroom, and you could be there so took out those courses and took out the back catalogue. Check out what is coming up and register for free so that you get those reminders. So for all of our different events, when people have questions about gear and we don't have any additional assistance, they always the the producers always come to Kate. Kate, What was your what? Well, let's give you the mike back. You're not out of this yet. Hey, that's right. What was your last purchase? In terms of of a camera and or, like, 2013 we're gonna be talking about a year in review. Did you buy anything this year? And and what was it I did? I bought the Fuji X 100 s as my walk around camera. So why, um well, when the first version of that came out, I was very interested in the camera. Um, but I knew that version two was gonna be better, so I decided to hold off, and I got version to when it was released earlier this year. What do you think? It's fabulous. I went to New York for photo Plus earlier this year, and that was the camera took with me. I took that my IPhone and I was good to go. We're gonna be talking a lot about that kind of shift from DSLR is everywhere to absolutely to mobile devices and the smaller cameras. So cool. All right. Thanks, Kate. Morning, guys. All right, Barnaby, let's talk before we get started. A little bit about what it is that we are doing today. Okay, so we got three main segments today. The 1st 1 is gonna be about Look at all the gear. Yes, not just of the year. But we're gonna look across the product classes. Think that exists right now. Consumer digital imaging. Then we're gonna move into a practical segment where me and John Green go. One of the resident photographers here Talk through what kind of beer you want for situation. Yeah, I'm really excited about this segment. This is the 1st 1 to go into the different classes. But then this is the what if I am going travelling? What? What? What if I am a mom with little kids and I want a photograph? Dance recitals? What do you recommend for me? I think I love this segment. That's gonna be really got a lot of gear to show you as well. It's all for sale. Yeah, that's true. After that, we've got a live shooting segment with one of our writers, Annette John Connor, cello. Another photographer from association. Creative life. That'll be studio lighting, portrait techniques, natural light through splashes and three strobes. And they're ending the day with a panel segment, which should be really, really fun unless dp review team the guys you'll meet in a minute. And also some guest experts as well from the industry will be coming on and saying a lot of, hopefully all of your questions, but also we talking through tech trends. You know what's happening now and what's gonna happen in the future. So what are some of those big themes that are going on? What's going on on the DP Review site right now? Wait a big thing. So last year the big thing was putting WiFi in cameras. Yes, this year, the big thing is being getting it right. So making them reading so shortly, genuinely social tools. And I think connectivity is a very, very, very big deal. It's not something which you know hasn't reached maturity yet. Okay, it's very important, and it's unusual now that we see a camera coming out, certainly aimed at the consumer audience that doesn't have some kind of social features. It's really amazing. It's amazing toe watch. I mean, the Internet, social media think about Facebook hasn't been around like that that long and so to see it being tightly integrated. That is what people want. So yeah way, it'll be a great dialogue. It should talk about that, especially with some of our guests. Like you said, Sam got Gate Gate terribly from Samsung. We've got John Carlson from Pentax. We got a mark, were from Sony and also Zip Gila. Who's from If I He's been industry for a really long time. Such a lot of fun. Very, very cool. Well, I think we can get started.
