Email Marketing for Crafters Intro

Welcome tio email marketing for crafters with abby glass enberg abby is a sewing pattern designer. She writes about the home so in industry, and she writes about creative entrepreneurship. She has had her blogged for ten years, and it is called while she naps dot com so make sure that you are following her if you're not already and, of course, on the subject matter that she is teaching us, she has a killer email newsletter with a stunning fifty percent open rate, fifty percent open rate so I know that is something out there that you guys are going to want to learn all about. Please help me welcome to the creative five states for the very first time. Abby glassberg, come on up, welcome, tio, creative live, thank you so much and so excited to be here so fabulous to have you here as part of this conference absolutely absolutely amazing, so email marketing eyes something that I know for myself is scary. So in addition, tio, my work here, creative, live I do, I leave photo tours around the ...

world, and I I know that I really should have an email newsletter and I don't I don't collect email addresses very well and the reason why is because I feel like I'm going to clutter up somebody's email inbox and I feel bad about that. Is that something that you hear a lot of um I alone know you're definitely not a lot I think that's really the number one concern the number one reason that people don't have an email lists and don't set on email newsletter is because they're worried that they're going to have the opposite effect on their fans and customers and the one they intend they intend teo you know how people love what they're doing by more of what they have to offer but really they're worried that if they send out an email and and if they do they they feel guilty that they're going to be cluttering up there their subscribers and boxes and making people annoyed and or even angry at them and I think that's the number one thing but there are other reasons that people don't have email newsletters besides that and I think the two other main ones are time people really worried about adding another thing tio their list you know they're already doing all the social media and all this other stuff on the computer that's taking them away from crafting and so time is a big inhibitor on dh then I think the third biggest piece is content you know everybody talks so much about having email newsletter you need to have one you should set up a list blah blah blah but what I feel like it's missing out there is what do you put in it like week after week, month after what he's supposed to put in there on dh. So that's, really, what this class was going to be focused on of those three things, plus a whole lot more tests, like I see it, fear in people, but that's, exactly what you all are here. So thank you, abbi, for being here, it's our pleasure to host you and take it away. All right, thank you so much.

Abby Glassengber's class is a great tool for beginners. Abby encourages us to focus on the goal of our newsletter, and to incorporate aspects of newsletters we enjoy into our own writing. A particularly useful section of the course was the description of different content types that work well for e-mail marketing. Those of us who dislike "salesy" content are given the revelation that our newsletters are a gift to our most dedicated fans. With this in mind, putting together newsletters becomes a more thoughtful and fun process.

A down to earth and honest voice. I found this quite relaxing and a really nice class to get rid of those fears of email marketing. I love how the audience can participate and questions have been asked.
