Class Introduction
So, what I want to start off with is just kind of a brief history of the digital world. And, I put together some infographics here on what has actually transpired over the last 25, 30 years, if some of you can remember that far back, I certainly do. So the first slide that I have here is just kind of an idea of where it all started back in the day when computers were new, we had software, and how you could actually more one file to another from one file from an application to another. Well, back in the eighties, back when I kind of joined the digital world, we had just a few basic programs out there. Photoshop, and you can see by the dates that we have here that this Photoshop, or Photoshop actually came out in 1988, so we celebrated the twenty-fifth anniversary of it, in fact, we here at Creative Live actually put together a great video that you can hunt down. But, when you had a Photoshop file, Photoshop itself had very limited compatibility with other applications. And, back in the ...
day we had multiple different software manufacturers, and none of the applications talked to each other. So, when we had Photoshop, we also had two different page layout applications, one of them was QuarkXpress, which came out in 1987, and I know some of you that are watching this are like oh my gosh has it been that long, yes it has. My how time flies.
