Save Stories as Memories

if you will look right underneath the circle that we use for photos and videos. There's a smaller circle, and these are where Snapchat memories are stored. Now, before we tap on that, I'm gonna swipe once to the left. And you're also going to see one more icon at the top next to the triple dots on the my storyline, and it's a little been within error going into it. This is where you will save your story to memories. Okay, so let's say I want to save the last 24 hours. By the way, what I typically do is at the end of the day before I go to bed. The last thing is, I hit this button and it saves my entire day. So I'm gonna do it right now just to demo it, tap it, watching those taking all that data, compiling it all together as one story in the format that I created. And then it will kind of go like that and will know that it is fully saved Bling like that. There it is. A little check. Mark tells me that the story is safe. So now when I go down here to memories. I can see all of the days ...

of stories that I have saved since they implemented this feature, which they started in July previous to July 2016. You would save your story to your phone. Now it defaults to save it to the cloud on Snapchat. Which is better because those issues we had with downloading them before were messed up. The audio video sinker, the picture size they're saving it themselves. But that doesn't mean we can't save a tour of device. It means that now we have a number of things we can do with these memories, and we're looking at all of them right here. So now that I have this memory, I just saved this one in the upper left corner and kind of give me a preview of what's in that entire story. If I tap and hold it now, it gives me options. And here are the options. First of all, I can tap the Blue Arrow, too many videos. They limited toe like a minute so I can actually send that whole story to somebody. But what I can do is up at the top. I can edit this story name so I can say creative live Day one. So now I have a title for my story that makes it easy for me to reference it. I can go in and I can tap edit story, and I can go in here and I can trash the lower left corner. Any one of these snaps from this memory, I can upload it into today's story. So let's say you snap something, um, a few days ago or last month, and you're like, Oh, I have this really cool picture and I want to remind people of it I could click this upload button or I'm sorry. That's a save button, and I could now save this directly to my device. They change this on me, okay? We'll get to in a moment. I could also re embellish it. So by tapping on the draw tool in the memory, I now have access to all the tools again. So I really wished at the time that I had added this to it. Now I can same thing with the the draw tool, the text tool. I can add stuff to what I've saved before and repurpose that content again. I'm gonna discover the changes. For the sake of this, I can also trash a snap from this story. And if it's under a minute, I can send that to an individual. Yes. Can you reverse the club The way the hand shows on the emoji on the emoji? You could only use the emojis as they are, so you'd have to find a reverse hand to do it. They actually that some of them there's a demand for that. So some of emojis like there's been a fist bump to the left while there, including in the new one. The fist bump to the right. Because I guess some of us are lefties and some muscle righties, and we don't want anybody to feel discriminated against. Right? Lefty here, by the way, go south. All right, let's fire this up again. I'm gonna charge the crowd out of this phone over the break. We're in a supercharge it okay? Back to memories. The most important part to me is not the reusing them, actually not a fan of reusing them, because when you reuse them, it frames them and it's not doesn't feel native, and I don't know why they do this, but it puts it in a frame that you can tell it apart from your native snaps. You can do it if you want to, not a huge fan. What I do like to do and I think it's very important, though, is this tool right underneath Edit words as export. So when you export the story you want in the bottom, last words has saved video. Now you can see it's taking my whole story from the day that is stored remotely and Snapchat servers, and it's pulling it down to my phone. Now that it's on my phone, it's in. My content is in my possession, which I think is critical no matter what you're creating online is that you always have a copy of your original content, and it allows me to repurpose it. You can save individual snaps. In fact, if you will open up your Snapchat, go to your story and click the triple dots next to your story. On the my story page, you'll see all the snaps you've created. Tap on any one of them, and you will see at the bottom you have the option to delete your snap don't do that, but you'll also see the download link on your snap. They receive that little doubt. It's a down arrow with a line under it at the bottom of any snap you're looking at. That lets you save the snap to your memories.

Wow! This class blew me away. I was fortunate to be part of the in-studio audience. Joel does a wonderful job of educating you on the nuts and bolts of Snapchat. My favorite part of on how to create stories using Snapchat and the use of Geofilters. Most importantly, I really admired the energy and enthusiasm Joel brings with him for this course.
