Action - Find Out If We Can Create A Listing That Would Beat Our Competitors

in this video, we want to see if we could create a product listing that would beat our competitors up until this point. Most of the criteria has been very clear cut. Either the numbers work out and we put a yes or the numbers don't work and we put a no. This criteria here is going to be a little bit more subjective, but we still have some very important indicators that could tell us whether we could create a product listing that would beat our competitors or whether that be a very hard thing to do. Let's get started by looking at the double dog leash. We're gonna open up an internet browser, head over to amazon dot com and type in double dog leash and we're gonna look at a few of the listings here. And the most important thing we're looking at is the images. The images are what sell the products besides the images, some other really important factors to look at are the product title. Are they using keywords that are optimized for the search And also the five bullet point description of...

the item. Let's take a look and I'm just gonna go straight to the first listing that's not sponsored and click on it. And the first thing I'm taking a look at are the images and this example listening here has a lot of images and they seem like very high quality images. And another thing is to have a picture of the product and use. So it seems like this listing is pretty good on their photos. Next up, we want to take a look at the product title and just by the length of the title and the type of words they're adding in there. It does look like they optimize their title by putting as many helpful keywords as they could in there. And the third thing that's really important for us to look at are the bullet points. And if we were to read these bullet points, we would see that it's a great description that's well thought out and also includes a lot of the keywords that their ranking for. So besides those three factors which are the most important, we have a few other things that we could take a look at if we scroll down, we can take a look at their product description. Is it just a plain block of text or is it formatted? Which in this case they formatted it with bold lettering and made it look nice with how they space it out. And another thing besides that is we can look at the number and the quality of the reviews And they have a lot of reviews and it's a pretty high rank 4.5 out of five stars. And just by looking at some of these reviews, we can see that these are high quality reviews. They're not short reviews that say great products and that's it. These are very descriptive and people spend a lot of time writing these for this reason I would say that this would be a very hard listening to compete with because they're doing a lot of things really well. But let's take a look at some of the other listings and see how they're doing. I'm gonna take a look at this one and the first thing I'm taking a look at our the product images and these images look very nice. They give a lot of information about the product and they also showed the product in action. Next up is the product title and it's shorter than the other products and there's not as many keywords in it, but it still looks like it's pretty well thought out. If we scroll down, we see there was a lot of thought put into these five bullet points and they seem descriptive and include important keywords. It will scroll down, take a look at the product description and it doesn't look as nice as the last product, but they have put some thought into this. It is spaced out pretty well, but there's no html formatting, which you can tell because none of the fonts are bold ID or have a special look to them. And finally, if we take a look at the reviews, We'll see that it has a very high average 4.7 out of five. And if we scroll down, it looks like these are well thought out reviews for the most part, the customers have spent a lot of time writing these reviews and it's not just a quick, I love it or this is a terrible product. Let's keep looking at some of these other products and I'm tending to lean towards products that are similar to the one that I found on Alibaba that I was thinking about importing and that's why I'm choosing this product here and again, we have a really great listing. It looks like some high quality product photos that show it in use and well thought out title with a lot of keywords in it. They're making use of most of the bullet points for them and they're pretty descriptive. The product description is pretty much nothing. So that's one thing that we could definitely improve on in our own listing. And the review average seems pretty good. And if we scroll through the reviews, it looks like these are what very well thought out reviews given the information that I've looked at so far, I'm gonna go back and say that No, I don't think it would be very easy to create a product listing that would beat our competitors. Now, let's take a look at the acrylic stapler and I'm gonna click on the first one here and take a look at the product images and these product images are okay, but I don't think they're that great. None of them really show the stapler in action. I mean, this one kinda does, but not really, it feels really fake. And I think we could beat them by creating better product images. The title is descriptive but it doesn't look like it includes a lot of keywords and I think we can do a better title than this. And same with the bullet points, there's not a lot of thought put into making these really helpful and we could definitely improve upon that. If we scroll down, there's not much to the product description, it just looks like one or two sentences of plain text and the review average is pretty high and these reviews do you look pretty well thought out But given all the rest of the information that we saw, I think we still could beat this listing and we could create a better product listing. Let's take a look at the one below it. Here we have one product image. Very little use of the bullet points. A very short title. That's not very descriptive or including helpful keywords, not much thought into the product description And the reviews are not that great. 3.7 out of five stars definitely. I think we could very easily beat this listing. Let's take a look at at least one more. This seems to be the best listing for the stapler so far. Just by looking at these photos, they have a photo of it in use and they look like high quality photos that make the product seem very nice. The title is a little more well thought out. It's more descriptive and includes more keywords and if we scroll down we can see they're taking huge advantage of all of these bullet points. The product description is not perfect. We can improve upon that And the review are pretty high 4.5 out of five stars. And these seemed like very well thought out reviews. Some people definitely took a lot of time to write these overall. I think that this listing right here would be a little bit tougher to compete with. But given that the other two we looked at were not very good. I think overall we could create a listing that would compete with most of our competitors for this product and I'm going to click yes here. Finally we have the belly cast cat and let's take a look at the first one here. So it seems like they have some pretty good images. None of the images of the product actually in use, but it still gives you a good idea of what the product looks like. The title could be improved. Its very short, not very descriptive or including helpful keywords. They did a pretty good job of taking advantage of their five bullet points. There's a lot of information in the product description page, but it's not formatted at all. And for that reason, I think we could do a much better job here and the review average is pretty good and the reviews are seems like very high quality, well thought out. Let's take a look at another listing here. We have some images that are good but not great. A title that seems very short and not very descriptive or helpful. Keywords the bullet points are not being taken advantage as well as they could for one you have the same thing repeated twice and they're just not that descriptive and including that many keywords. The product description is not formatted. Well, I think we could definitely improve that. And the review seemed pretty well thought out With the average of 4.4 out of five. Let's take a look at one more here here. We could definitely improve on these product images. Same with the title. We could also improve these bullet points including more helpful texts. We could improve upon the product description and definitely improve upon the rating overall. I would say yes, we could create a product listing that would beat our competitors for this product in this video, we found out if we could create a product listing that would beat our competitors in the next video, we're going to see if our products are trending, pause this video now and don't move on until you found out whether or not you could create a listing that would beat your competitors
