Weekly Event - #imadeit Friday's

Hello, everybody. And welcome to this special broadcast in which we are going to talk about some community events here creativelive that are all about sharing your creativity. My name is Russ Andy's. I'm on the host here at creative Life and I'm excited to be joined by our head of marketing. Mr. Rick Silvestri Me. Rick, how are you doing this morning? I'm super excited to be Here s get good, as you can tell so Oh my This is a lot of fun. Guys, this is something that we've been wanting here at creative life. We're gonna talk about some events that we've been working on for a really long time. These are things that are really going to help you and us, who are also learners here creativelive to learn as much as we can from the events that we have here on this network. So what are we talking about today? Sure. So we've got a bunch of really exciting things happen. It creativelive very recently Justice week. We'd launched a couple of really important new features on the website profiles and...

galleries, thes air places where our community can share the work that they do associated with a particular class and then comment on things that each other have have done. So really changing the nature by which we can engage with one another inside of creative life. There's a lot of really great energy in the chat room, everyday people sharing tips in your URLs and talking about the courses. Now they can continue that sharing after the class is over by posting work that they have done based on the things that they've learned. Yeah, so everybody out there, by the way, jump into the chat room right now there's a green chat live with. Maybe it's blue. I can't remember this moment. Chat live with class participants link directly below the video feed. If you click that and open it up, I am here joining you guys in there to say hi. We're gonna have some special guests join us throughout this broadcast, and we're going to talk to them. We're going to ask your questions. So if you have any questions about the things that are happening here, a creative life, we would love to hear them. But these these initiatives that we're taking are things that again are kind of personal to me because I think that that creative lives events are amazing. I've learned so much. But the things that I've learned the most have been the things where I've heard something and then gone out and done it right. And how do you demonstrate your learning in side? The creative life community Previously you couldn't really do. That s so we're gonna have Dana Underwood coming upto talk us through using this new product future. How did upload your work, How toe share with other people, how to comment and all that stuff on. Then we're also going to be talking about some other sharing platforms that we have, which are a new community program called on a role where we've selected some of our favorite students from around the world. I'm excited for people to see some of the work that these people have been doing. Exactly. Yeah, really good stuff on. And then we have our artist in residence program. We have someone who's actually doing a two month creative exploration project here at Creative live in our space. And then, obviously this is part of a new initiative that we're calling. I made it Fridays, So every Friday on Creativelive, we'd love for you to upload your work, to share it through social media, using the hashtag I made it and encouraging one another and showing positivity and support for other people who were sharing their work. That's what we're all about. That is what we're all about here it created live. And I think one of the things that speaking of support, I think when people that has supported people out there without them knowing it because of the work that he does on our website is Mr Dana Underwood, why don't we come on? Yeah, I just be me here. Right? Kind of weird. Thanks for joining us. Thank you for having me. Yeah. So for those of you out in Internet World, Dana Underwood is our director of product management. He leaves a daring team of designers and engineers and product people who built our course calories. And why don't you take the folks through shore you built for? So you know, we're really excited about it. And a So you guys know our audience is always so generous about sharing the ways in which our classes impact them. But until now, we haven't had a way for them to actually share the work that's inspired by those classes. So really, that's what course galleries are all about. And so I want to talk through how to get started, and I'll use myself as an example. You know that I was an audience member. I was watching creativelive years before I was actually on the team and and a working professional photographer. Well, yeah, it is amazing. I thank you. Uh, and so you know, John, bring those classes have always really inspired me. So, you know, I was able to sit in on one of his travel photography courses. And so the way I'd start is I'd navigate to his travel photography class through our catalogue, because that's where I want to share the inspiration that I got from created love. So you took that course you were inspired by, and then you went out in the world, Did some work that you want to associate with that core. Exactly. Great. And so you go to the course page right that you had. So you watch travel photography, you go to the course page and you want to start uploading your work? Absolutely. So I'll go to the new student. There's a new link right on the right side called new student work. On clicking that link takes me to a section of the page where I can see the nine latest images that have been shared with this course gallery. And I can click the upload my own. So that leads me to a drop down. This is pretty straightforward, but I wanna walk everyone through it. I can click upload my work and it will take me to my finder on my file chooser. And I choose that image. It shows up right here, and I can do all the basic things. I can crop it exactly how I want it. I can add a title. I can add a description. They come a boathouse. This is something. I shot Italy and then I can go to add to a community. So we're Rick has talked about. I made it. So this is how I actually want to share my image with the I maybe community and get it posted to the I made a gallery. Cool. I could do that right here. And so the I made it gallery is a special gallery. That is the kind of the best work that people have done on creativelive the things that they're most proud of. They want to share with the entire community. Exactly. So just make sure that I understand it's the standard upload. So what is the image? Go if you don't click the I medic our. If you don't click it, it will go straight to the gallery that's associated with the course. So the primary gallery is associate with the course. That's right. And then, if you're you can upload work in progress, maybe some assignments that the you know or exercise that the instructors suggest it'll just be within that course community. And then, if you're really proud of maybe a finished piece of work and you want to share with the entire creativelive community, you tag it with. I made it exactly great. Yep, cool. And then posting, clicking post a gallery with post in both places. I made it and in the student gallery, cool so I can see my image here right in the first spot where I like it, of course. And then if I want to see any of these. This is the student, the travel photography studio work gallery. I can click on the thumbnail and of course, I'll click on a thumbnail of my own and see it in all its glory. You know, retirees without the syrup just big and bright. Uh, and on this page now, you know someone else can come here, show my image a little love by clicking the heart. They can actually comment on it. Leave me a comment on and they can actually share it to social. There's lots Twitter, Pinterest. Yeah, And once I'm in here, I might browse and click the arrow to browse to the next image. And maybe I come upon this beauty, actually love this image. This is taken by our own candy clustering on. And this is a favorite image of those that she shared from her recent trip to Cuba. And I've already said so by commenting on the image. I've also click the heart to show her that I like I would like it three times because I really love this image. Sure. Um and then I can also share this to say Facebook, for instance, where it will share a thumbnail of the image, Right? Credit? Kinda. It will mention the class and it'll have a little It will have a link right back to this page. Great. So then you can share this great piece of work that Kennedy did with your community, bringing more people to Kenna's work and sort of supporting her as a artist and creative. That's right. Awesome. And if I want to support her even more, I can click on her little profile icon in the lower left and go straight to our profile. Well, where I can learn, among other things, that she likes mustard on her french fries. But then I can also click on any of these thumbnails to see on image right there large on our profile and interact with it in all the same ways gotta. So the sharing starts at the course level. You go into a course that you took. You upload an image that is associate with learning that occurred from that that class and then, uh, it shares to that particular gallery. If you want to share it with I made it, you can, and then it goes the entire credit live gallery, and then it Also, it also will appear in your in your profile in your profile. Exactly. Great. And so then you have this record of the learning that takes place over time as you participate in more and more creative life classes. Exactly. Exactly. So I would be remiss if I didn't think that people at Creativelive who had their hands on this because, like everything, this was a team effort. Yeah, so I'd love to do that. You know, Jacob, our designer, our engineers Alley, Justin, Gabe a Lan and Erin Ah. And in the market or marketing team specifically Kristina, Whitney, John and Jessica. And then, of course, Cannon and Russ are always there to represent their points of view and the points of view of the audience out there. So everyone, Well, and on behalf of the people who are again, I consider myself just somebody who gets to learn every day. That's it's the best part of my job on DSO. All of the things that you guys do to actually enhance that and make that possible is just eso wonderful. So we are really grateful and I'll speak happily on behalf of her went out there for saying thank you for the constant upgrades and improvements and new additions like this to be able to actually share our work. Absolutely cool. Yeah. All right. Thanks so much. Thanks, Dana. Right. So for all of you out there in Internet world, you can Now this is very forced. I made it Friday. You can upload your work to the gallery in a course that was your favorite. Share it to the I made it gallery. And we're gonna be commenting and sharing toe Facebook and Twitter through the creative live social media profiles just really celebrating our community and the great work that they have done over the past years. Now you have an awesome location, Teoh. Share what you've done, show what you've learned and support other people in the creative community. Well, because that's what it's all about. I hear constantly from photographers, especially who come in and talk about how they don't have anyone in their area to talk to about photography, about the things that they're passionate about, because a lot of people do see each other is competition and so are very jealous of their secrets. And that's when things that when they come to creative life when they watch our events. They're so excited about it because they get to talk freely with people who understand and are open and sharing. That's what we're all about from all over the world from all over the world. And so I love that. We're just That's what we're doing. We're encouraging that to continue. And so we've created this ongoing space. The I made it gallery where people can be proud of the work that they've done can put it out there into the world. That's, Ah, positive place. You know, we don't This isn't a place for trolling or for, you know, harsh criticism. This is like, Hey, you uploaded a thing. You took the brave act of sharing your creativity with the world. A lot of people are afraid to put that that piece of work out there absolutely, and this is supposed to be a safe, positive place for you to do that. It's celebrating the accomplishment of putting work out well. It's fun because I have a ton of work that I've done that I haven't put anywhere because I have been hesitating on creating a website because it's it's scary, a lot of work. Scary. Well, it's a lot of work, but it's a little scary to put your stuff out there right on DSO finding the place where people are there to support are there to encourage and to help you to improve. That's key to this. So I'm really excited to start uploading some my stuff. What are the things that you want to see people do as part of I made it Fridays, as far as I commenting and helping each other. Absolutely. So, uh, first of all, upload your work and share it to either the I made a gallery or through your own social networks. Use the hashtag. I made it and be proud of the work that you've done and be proud of the journey that you're on like it takes a long time to develop your creative taste or creative style to find your own voice. But every step along that way matters and and sharing that and saying that like, yes, I am creating something and I'm expressing myself in a way that's important to me is a brave and noble act, and so the first part of I made it Fridays is just sharing share in the context of the class that you're taking throughout the week. And then on Friday, you know, use the hashtag tweeted post to Facebook posting instagram Use the hashtag. I made a ted creative life every Friday. Our social media folks are gonna be kind of sharing and supporting people in the community that have posted work. And as you see other people post work to creativelive or on the hashtag, just give him a thumbs up. Give him Ah, you know, ah, heart on the gallery. Get through a little love their way that you really like that image than at a little comment. So it's about finding work that you that that speaks to you and then encouraging the person who created it well. And it's not just for things also that you you're doing online. We also just we want you to get out there and be doing stuff in the world. So if your if your particular art form, if the thing that you create is not something that you can easily share, that's great, go out and do it. That's the encouragement necessary to go out and do work every week is so helpful, Teoh to a lot of us who are in this space where we want to be creative. We want to share those things that we have inside. But it's scary, it's hard. And so we need that encouragement where we can get it, not just from people saying that they like our work or, you know, helping us to know what is what we can improve about it. But also just knowing that people want to see it. Yeah, and knowing that it's okay to share it. That does not only look, I think what One thing that's important for me and for creative live about the I made it Fridays program, is it? It's starting to re. We're hoping that helps people redefine what success means. Success doesn't mean making huge amounts of money and being world famous like the act of actually putting some I made. This thing like that in itself is successful, like getting to a point where you've express yourself. You worked on something, you created a piece. You put it out into the world. You made it. Not only did you make that physical piece, but you made it in terms of your successful person that has created something and has given something back to the world. Absolutely. And we have another. Another program that we've started very recently that I would love to talk about. Great. The honor roll program. Okay, so yeah. So But again, to reiterate what Dana was saying earlier when you are uploading an image to the the course gallery, which is where you share it with everyone who is working on that particular course, if you check the hashtag, I made it button there. Then it will share it also with everyone else outside in the world. So feel free to do that. And now we'll move over, move on, Teoh to the folks who have gone out there and done stuff. So tell us about the honor roll on a roll program. So a couple months ago, we put a call out to our community Teoh nominate people who exemplified the learning community. We have here a creative life, people who have actually done great work on who have learned from Creative Live and who had put that out into the world. And we kind of wanted to just pick some of our favorites. Not necessarily the best, but people who are engaged in the journey and who are putting workout and are proud of that. So it was a community nomination process. Some people nominated themselves. Some people nominated others, and we want toe introduce those folks now. Absolutely one thing toe. Let everybody know if you go to our blogging creativelive dot com clash with Log You can see all of these folks and check out their Facebook twitter. Their social media links their portfolio sites so that you can actually go and see the work that they're doing in addition to what we've got to show here. Because these people are doing amazing work there, really killing it, and we want you guys to support him. That's part of the reason that we're doing this is to be able to get people to see the work that other people are doing in the in the community here, a creative life. So go ahead and give these people some love on. You can do so by going to creativelive dot com slash blawg, and that's where you'll find all the links will show him here. But if you don't have time to read him down. That's we can find him. Cool. Our first member of on a roll is Adrian Far 85. Yes, a full time photographer. Uh, he is Ah, quote from him. Before I found creativelive, I was taking mediocre pictures as a hobby, wishing to be something better but not knowing how. After finding and learning a wealth of information from creativelive and it's instructors, I'm now full time photographer with a real purpose in life to create amazing images that I can leave behind to inspire others. So, like, awesome. Like he started off like so many people as a hobbyist, some of the creative passion worked really hard, studied with creative Live and is now putting amazing work into the world. His favorite courses are beauty and Fashion, from Matthew Jordan Smith and The Business of Senior Photography by Mr Salles and Kata. Well, and 80 is one of those guys who also really active in the chat room and is one of my favorite people. We always reading questions from him because he asked such really important pertinent questions on DSO we love when he joins, because he's just a positive influence in the in the room. He's a great guy. I hope to meet him someday in person because I I love his work. Normal Do killer work. Yeah, Norwich, England. So you have to get across the pond. I want him to come here something. Yeah, So it's It's I love is working. He's very also a possible effect in the chat room, which is great super on. So you guys can throw a tweet or instagram but a love Teoh Adrian far at Twitter and at eight and far photo on Instagram Facebook, his website right there. So throw some love at 80 far on. This is what I love like is part of the nomination process. He showed what he was doing in 2010 and then now what? He's up Teoh in 2014 and just the improvement that he's made along the way. Amazing. His portfolio, by the way, is also super filled out so you can go in and find him on creative life and kind of heart. All of the stuff that he has done, which actually brings up something I think we didn't necessarily mention, which is that you can go back to those courses that you've taken in the past and upload pictures to those galleries now. So if you have that were part of a course and did some work afterward, that really shows what you learned from it. We'd love for you to go back and actually share those in those galleries so that people can see that's what that's what he has done here is gone through and you can see all the different courses that he's been a part of, um, and has shared work from those courses. That's great. Moving on Next person is anti carpeting from Finland, another commercial and portrait photographer, his quote that he shared with us. I don't just take images, I make them. I'm a creative out of the box thinker. Imagine anything is my motto. I create exciting words until stories. With my pictures, I have a strong background of composite photography, art, direction and retouching, so I'm not only photographer, I'm a creative artists portrait photographer of Finland and internationally awarded, so this shows the diversity in the creative life community. We have a working commercial photographer who's doing great work for major brands and is still engaged with creativelive learning Mawr doing mawr and participating in the community. If everything's when I hear instructors who are joining in tow learn from other instructors because learning is never something you're done with. Yeah, it's not something where you're like, OK, I got it finished. That's that's the whole thing. That's my whole thing. Personally, as as just me is the desire to learn and to improve myself. That's what we're all about. His favorite courses are basically anything by soup, rice and imaginative fashion photography by Mrs, which is totally recent. So the guy didn't work this well, still learning on a regular basis. Terry Gill, who is a botanical photographer and designer you can instagram her at at Terry Gill Tweet her at Terry Gill Studio Shore. Some love. This is such a cool, mixed medium of photography and design. She says that her work serves to illuminate the relationship we have with plants not only for food and air, but for beauty. I have been a part of the live studio audience in San Francisco. I'm a lifelong learner. Creative life has been an integral part of my development as an artist and an entrepreneur. Her favorite courses are artists that thrive with by an array and the art of selling you make from terra genteel. So, uh, great design sensibility here that could make beautiful wallpaper or, uh, posters for just really, really cool stuff. And I love seeing the variety of work because, you know, we started in photography. We've been really doing a lot of photography, but we're branching out into other channels, other types of art, other types of creativity and being able to see and showcase that as well is really, really cool. Yes, I love it. Moving on. Teoh Miss Daphne Chan be from Vancouver, Canada Twitter at definite Chan Instagram death in Chan photo You can find her website daphne chan dot com She is a boudoir photographer and glamour. By watching creative life courses and a lot of hard work, I was able to turn around my failing commercial studio today have today I have a thriving boudoir photography, live work studio and I've never been happier. She was community nominated and her nominator had this to say about her. I see Daphne as a mentor for photographers who want to give a higher purpose to their work for their clients and for women. Her favorite classes are 28 days with Soup, rice and building, a boudoir photography business from Gen. Rosenbaum, which she was actually a student in That was really cool to be able to meet her in person again. I love her work. She does some beautiful stuff. She also doesn't beautiful, fine artwork. I'm outside of her boudoir work, which is gorgeous as well. Cool, moving on Teoh Daniel Seeley, photographer from Colombia. Daniel Sealy's His Website. You can find him on Facebook. Daniel Seeley Photo Twitter Daniel Scioli 89 Instagram Daniel Seeley, I love this work. Super artistic fine art sensibility. A little bit of mixed medium here, uh, and his quote. I want to be a photographer. I wanted to be a photographer, but never had the smallest idea of how to get to that point, where taking photos would represent an income. And while searching the Web for large aid, I found out about Creative Live and was hooked immediately. I've been a creative life student for eight months now, and it was through your classes that I discovered amazing fine art photographer Burke shading. She has inspired so much of my work sense her class with super her classes, along with soup, rice, large aid misson, Neela, Emily, Soto and Giulio have added something magical to my creative process. I am starting my business and already have contracts. And for port contracts and portrait sessions booked, I began submitting work to galleries and small art venues in my local community. His favorite courses are Master your Craft with Brooke Shade in Experimental Portrait's with Soup, rice and large aid, and you can definitely see the influences of the super cool. But what I love is that it is. It's his work. You can totally tell. He's got his own voice. He's got his own style and it shows It's beautiful. Yeah. Uh, Miss Emily London, from Utah, is a makeup artist, designer and photographer. She was nominated by someone else in the creative live community. You can tweet or instagram her at Emily London Miller and find her portrait sat Emily London Portrait's dot com. Uh, here is the nominating quote about her. There is no other photographer I know of who has taken everything super Race has given, shown and provided, and applied it to their business better than this gal. She is an inspiration to me as well as to others. I believe in Sioux Prices. In bed with Su Facebook group. She's come up with products for her own business and has provided them for purchase to others. She shares a wealth of her knowledge on her blood. She's invested money and time and developing her brand and has done it in such a short amount of time. This is one photographer that I see going places I love. How we have someone in the community just recognizing the great work that Emily has done. And then you can see the soup rice influence. It's great. There's there's a roadmap, that soup rice has given all of us to be a world class glamour photographer. Emily devour that road, devoured all of it and has done some really, really beautiful work Here is absolutely amazing. Uh, Danny Rotondo from Josie You confined his website Dan Rodeo at Dan Rodeo Dotson folio dot com. He's on flicker at Dan Rodeo and Twitter at Dan Road. Oh, um, he was nominated by someone else, and his nominator had this to say. He has produced an outstanding body of work worthy of gallery display and book publishing. You would think that street photography is easy just looking at his pictures, but I know that it isn't. His portrait's are mixed with well composed architectural shots that capture what is often a drab environment and transform it into something more interesting. I love this shot of the one man band during into camera rich, saturated colors of looks like New York City. Right there. Beautiful, beautiful stuff. You can see the little bit of, um, photo shop kind of pushing some of the colors. They're really, really great stuff. It's, uh, Zoe, highly from New York City. You can tweet her at Zoe. Highly dot com is her Twitter, Facebook's and Website right there. This is one of my favorite stories. She's a newborn and maternity photographer. She's taken over 50 creativelive courses in two years while working full time and being a single mom. And her story is super inspiring. When I found out when I found Creative Live in 2011 I was an art director that hated her job and a hot broke, single math single mom mess. I cried for many, many nights because nothing I did with my photography business was putting food on my table. Even though every single person told me that I was talented. I spent the next two years taking over 50 creativelive classes while testing and working full time. Every teacher has left their mark on me, and every classes help me grow to become the success I am today. I'm now fully booked and making my clients very happy. I am proud to say Creativelive I'm proud to say I was educated by creative life. And I tell everyone about you and about what I have learned. I am deeply happy and thankful to creative life for all that they've done for me. Our favorite courses are 20 days with Sue and newborn posing with Kelly Brown. We have a couple more here. Uh, this is Zoe Noble. Uh, at Instagram Zo No photo. Twitter zone. Oh, Photo as well. She's a photographer and a re toucher. I've always been a firm believer in self teaching. If you have the dedication and termination, you could learn so much with amazing platforms like creative life. She was 30 when she realized that the career she'd car for herself wasn't making her happy. And without websites like Creative Life, she never would have been able to you redirect her life and become the success that she is today. Favorite courses. Fashion photography. One on one with large aid efficient lighting in post production with Jared Platt, Gorgeous and, uh, attains CEO of The Fool Ease. So he is a clothes, a creative clothing and entrepreneur. You can tweet at Julie's and sorry at Trudy's clothing in an instagram at Julie's. Uh, he his work is about positive messages on clothing and fashion. Um, here's what he has to say. My customers air known as bullies and bullies, air so driven and so motivated to change the world that they are called fools for even trying to do so. Every single day I work towards empowering and pushing my customers the next level every single day. Creativelive is doing the exact same thing. We push and motivate people to change the world, and that is the only goal and mission that matters. So check him out at the Folies website, maybe by a uh inspiring T shirt that you can wear as you're out there, creating your own love that he's doing making a living doing business with a message with something to share. That's a positive influence on the world. Cool. We got two more folks that we're gonna share. This is Shandy K from Denver. She's a senior senior and portrait photographer at Shandy K is her Twitter Instagram Shana Kay Photo. And this is I wish we had cool. Senior portrait photography like this was just the Yeah, and it was really awkward. Yes, we're starting to run a little short on time so I won't go through her wonderful quotes. Her favorite courses are foundations for a working photographer, Zacarias Late essentials from Don Jamadi and, like, really, really great work. Just amazingly beautiful, super cool stuff. And last but certainly not least, Randy Bed sold. Get that right. Rocky Pencil from New York USA. Rodney Bensel and Instagram Rodney Bensel, his a wedding and portrait photographer. He started watching Creativelive about six months after he picked up his first DSLR, and what he had to say is, most of what I've learned about photography has been through Creativelive. I've been I've even been to your studio as a student for Penny Delos Santos, a photography course old school. Creativelive has changed my life. I am well on my way to becoming a full time photographer. My skills have improved dramatically since I started watching creativelive classes. Uh, and that is the end of our, uh, general program. I love seeing all that work. Some of the folks were in the chat room, and it was great to be able to see and share with them the excitement that we have for this program because we get to show off. We get to show off the people who are part of this community, like I love that people come here and feel like part of a community because that's that's what I got out of this. That's what I got out of this before you ever became part of this company was being able to just be a part of a community that understands and that loves creativity and art. And that's what the honor roll lets us do. Show off those people who are doing cool work who are helping people in their community and are just showing how it's done. Yeah, that's great. Speaking of people who are showing how it's done, this is something that I am a really excited. When I heard about this, I, like, jumped out of my chair. So I'm gonna just move down and let you introduce our gas. Great. A eso. A new member of the Creativelive community is myth. Miss Madeline Trait. She is a multidisciplinary designer, photographer, artist who is creating amazing work in the San Francisco Bay area. What? We only had to come up metal and join us. Yes, so or welcome to credible. Thanks. Thanks for having me. For the next two months, you are going to be working out of the creative life San Francisco office. Uh, doing a capstone Learning project. Creating art along the way is showing your process. What got you interested in the artist in residence program? Actually, I wasn't super familiar with creativelive. And after hearing all the stories to I'm even more excited because just the idea of learning new skills and helping that develop my art further in my business further, that's it really kind of may be really excited to do this and get into the artist in residence program here. Cool. And so what we did with the other residents program was we looked at the local communities in Seattle and San Francisco, which is where we're based. We met a lot of really interesting people, and we put out sort of, Ah, quiet. Ask for who wants to come and be an example of participating and creative live classes and learning over a two month period and share your stories along the way. So you're gonna be kind of open and transparent for for all of the other folks out there over the next two months. Yeah, I feel about that. Exactly. I feel excited. I mean, it's fun to share the process because I'm always just so in my head all the time and at home and yelled instagram stuff here and there. But it will be really fun to you. Kind of bring people along the journey of starting from this initial idea and then what it develops into cool. Well, maybe take a look at some of the work you've already done. You can tell us a little about that. And then at the end, you'll tell us about the projects that you're gonna be working on over the next two months. It could have live. So, um, this is uh, I started doing flowers a couple years ago, just aside thing and then friends Family kept asking me to do it, so I started doing it for mainly for weddings. But a lot of my art is nature based, so and florals really makes sense to actually work with the real thing. And this image is my studio where I have this painting in the background that I did as well. So it's kind of showing the two mediums working together, bringing a lot of things from different places. Teoh inspired by nature. What are some of your your other inspirations? Um, other where just other creatives, other artists, my friends and just, I think just my general community to just talking to people. I get ideas from them, and it's not necessarily they have to be another artist, but just it's just talking to people on kind of throwing things out there. And some will say something, and I will just trigger just some random idea which will turn into something like this. Cool. Well, tell us what this this is. Actually it's really fun. This is part of the Art in Storefronts program for Central Market, a couple years ago and which is a neighborhood in San Francisco, right? Yes. Forget that. Not everyone s so in San Francisco, and it's an area that is not necessarily the nicest area they're trying to redevelop it. And this was part of this program is to take old empty storefronts and put artists into it. So this was called trash formacion. And the idea it was I took aluminum cans and they transformed into a swarm of butterflies. And I wanted to be a kind of this jewel like box and to get you had to be accepted. And so I sketched this idea, Um, which then, you know, turned into the real thing. So it was really fun and exciting to be part of the community project and and again, you know, involved nature. And I decided to use aluminum cans because it's kind of trash and must release information. And this is now here's a piece that goes in a totally different nature and trash, and now So, yeah, I'm definitely interested in jewellery as well, which I'm wearing a piece of made, which is a different rendition of kind of what I'm interested in. This is a couple years ago, Um, and I made this apple cake kind of bracelet, and I wanted to show it in an interesting way. And so I drew the hand and then just put the brisket on it and photographed it. And in a way, I kind of like it just as an art piece. Now, not necessarily is like a product shot. So to me, it's like it transformed after a couple years of just not looking at it and then looking at again and be like, Hey, you should hang this on my wall. Cool. Yeah, that's great on So then again, totally different direction. Which kind of popular here? Yeah, So what? What are these? These are cake toppers. And so I threw the flowers again. It's like this whole transition and process of you just get interested in different things on doing weddings. I would do flowers for the cakes, and I thought it would be really interesting to have something fun and different tohave as a decoration and just popped in my head one day. And then I started drawing and laden with laser cutting. It was obvious way to make them, and so so here we have a San Francisco heart kick topper and then taking the plunge. Very cool. Yeah, we've got a couple of other. Yeah, really expanded on the cake topper. And the idea to with the cake toppers was its You can use it as a decoration, and then you could actually use it as something as an art piece and at your home afterwards. That's really cool. So I mean and then it just with the laser cutting, it's really kind of expanded What I can dio. And so with the wood and being able to paint the wood so I can take my idea, draw it out, get it laser cut, paint it and then make it into jewelry, making a cake topper. Maybe it's under piece. So yeah, kind of takes all those ideas. We've got a couple of, um, like of actual physical things that you've created here. You can grab that one right there on its super intricate and really need. The laser cutting is just amazing. The hell precise you can get and transform your very specific illustration that signs really fun thing about the laser cutting is how detailed you can get and that's actually a custom piece doing for someone based on Burning man. And then this is kind of a standard piece I have that I created for my own illustration and ideas. Very cool. Um, we'll look at a couple more and actually what we look to the end of your your work when you tell us what you're going to be working on over the next two months at CREATIVELIVE. And some of you know, the types of classes that you're gonna be taking from us and how you'll be applying that to your own creativity and work. So the idea I have the concept is my Lou, which is like your social environment or your physical environment and kind of taking that idea place and applying that to just illustrations and seeing what manifests out of that, Um and then the classes. I really want to take some photography classes, some of the business, you know, just getting better about capturing when we're capturing the process and talking about it. So I kind of want to take all the classes. So there's no be really busy. Yeah, And as part of this process, you have Teoh produce a kind of final piece of work. And do you know what that might be? At this point? It's a activities. Ah, messy journey and want to put you in a box too early. I don't have a particular final piece, but I wanna have a final show so it can show the process pieces as well as the final piece, which could be an installation. It could be a mural. Could be a body of multiple little pieces that come together. So I don't have an exact piece in mind, but I'm kind of just excited about seeing what happens. Cool. Well, that's that's the great thing about learning is you don't know. You don't always know where you're gonna end up where you start and you're gonna be inspired along the way. So great. What was awesome to meet you. Where Where can the community find you online? My website is madeleine trade dot com. I'm on Facebook by Madeleine Trait, Instagram Madeleine Trait and Twitter Madeleine Traits. So pretty much of a my name on that would be just to be sure, spelled t r a I t. So everyone out there maybe give her a little, uh little social media love and support and will be keep it on the Creativelive blawg over the next two months to see her work in progress. Wait to see what you do in the next couple months. All right, Rick. That's a day right there. That's a that's a full day way. 13 members of our community were featured through arson residents and honor roll. We rolled out. I made it Friday's. Hopefully people are hash tagging and sharing and commenting and using the new galleries. Yeah, and just actually really quick. Just we've got a minute or two. I just want to hit a couple of questions that I saw from folks coming in online. We had Wrigley, who was wondering whether there was any security to prevent others from copying and using your photo. And yes, there is. We've disabled right click and save. As so we are concerned. We understand that we are not taking any rights to, you know, Teoh, do anything with the photos. This is about sharing. This is about you getting out there and letting other people see your work and getting support and just showing what you can do. Giving yourself that impetus to be creative and to really make something if you want to make something. Yep, I love it. Let's say one other question. I think we've got here maybe one more time. Uh, Paul was wondering whether we can upload images now. Or do we need to take a class first? Absolutely. You can go back into the classes that you've taken in the past and upload for those galleries as well, just to show what you've done in the past. So, folks, I think we are at about the time where we are going to have to wrap up for today. Rick. Thanks. Thank you. There's a lot of fun. It's been killer. It's been so cool to see what your team has been doing. What the other teams, that the Danes team and everyone around here a creative life are just so excited about giving everyone that opportunity to learn and to take the initiative. If that's what you feel, toe, actually take your desire, your passion, whatever it is you've got for life and make something happen. We're all about taking the initiative and learning here, and so we love to see it. I hope that you guys will be able to participate with that with our I made it Friday's participate by showing you're working your galleries. You take classes and show you work on your profile.
