Meeting the Babies

I just want to let everybody know again that this is unlike anything we've ever done here crate of live we are just like anything I've ever done but you know what? We're just going to behave as if we know that's right hide better shoot um we're gonna go until in terms of expectations of time we're going to go until we're done on so you're just going to be here with us in this experience I think the important thing is with six month old sixty seven month old baby sitters you know they're just sitting there not crawling gotta be really quick with um on dso if everyone's happy and ready to go, I'll go in do my spiel I'll introduce you know, my team to the to the mothers and fathers who were there and then we'll just get them dressed and just gradually bring them in um nice quiet but quick shoot is a good shape that's what we always say so ok let's see, here we go and I just want to let everybody now comet isn't here and you are just that calming, calming presence so I wanted to really teo...

look, I've worked with these people for many years and it looks calm but it's very, very organized on dh that's the way it used to be with baby, you know, all the care in the world and its owner I've been doing this for thirty years and I just saw protected by the people bring their babies to shoots like this I never take it for granted so let's go meet the beer let's go yeah let's you coming dawning um shall we bring that let's bring so you have what couple would bring head just show it to show everybody it's a good idea so you have multiple outfits correct? Um yeah we've got small medium and large have been extreme oh, an extra little something I hadn't even considered guys came in fibrous comes in all sizes definitely come in all sizes have you had marked on how did you feel before before meeting the babies love me by resisting my favorite parts of the shoes. All right, you'll get it. Yeah, I love a good phase two e I mean just justin and who do you belong? Tio camille this's corliss hello, darling look at you. I remember your friday nice to meet you and this is herbert calls charles lee nice to meet you. Oh, my goodness. How can I make a speech over all of this? How are you guys with two major mija oh god, what a cute name well, look, can I explain what we're doing? Where can I stand so everyone can have one, two, three, four, five babies of course phoenix is a little bit like but you guys will explain what we're doing um okay so let me introduce my team um this is don mcgahn who makes all the beautiful props and styling has been for the last twenty twenty five years or whatever since the mid nineties you guys have met joan there already and you've met natalie already um and um how does everyone know what we're doing okay thiss tells ah a bit of respect yeah, this is my first time I've ever done in life shoot andi it's just great because you know I mean you guys will know how how special it is in a studio environment but most people who have never been just keep asking me what was it like in all this sort of thing? So you know, we really want to show them I want you guys used to forget that these cameras around which is what we're going to do it as well, but I'm shooting the first three images of my next calendar andi it's going to be the signs off the zodiac and so today we're doing leo the lion and I've got a really yeah it's really gorgeous I'll come up quite and show you the image it's been pixilated and things like that so it's just illustration and we've got the city already and it's all comfortable we need is little babies in line outfits smiling I'm not asking so yeah, a little bit of magic that's what we need now oh don't anyone feel any pressure if they don't want to do it it's just fine too you know it's one baby in the image but I'm going to photograph everybody so we've got four bodysuits jonah has it show everyone that border sits and we've got them in different sizes said they're just little louis yeah the lower body six with headed tummies um and we've got the shoes inside and the hat will put on a psych coming to studio better will be won by one yeah um and so I'll leave you guys to kind of everyone is so cute it's a shame to cover up those ralph it's only time in your life that's really cute when you got rolls on your legs yes, I do want teo yeah what do you think? You got a size and good you cannot live with you um you know for sure I'll take it in there yeah, I'll put it on the ledge next to you this is large, friendly, friendly community cuddle child coming, darling oh, hello wei wei are faring writing but you weren't even listening to me were he's like I want you how old is it? A six month nice beautiful before there's lovely you are you're just beautiful he's trying to figure out how to get my glasses oh and my shit when I have everything back feet all right, so I'll see you guys in there one at a time yeah I think we've got to it too large maybe lines to you yeah yeah yeah well I'll leave you to it all right how you been? Good. Yeah, I think everyone's just like god just do it come and let me know you're back I don't miss you so the other sister okay, I'll see you in there all right? That was pretty typical you're going to see but we gotta move fast, okay? Chris when they're away and it runs over excited in right baby y sinners so we don't use apple let happy goodness are the baby's generally all awaken excited the mom's excited that I just really it's really lovely you know, they just just sitting and they love lots of noise and color and when you're photographing they don't crawl towards you you got a captive audience basically so yeah way just white don't get them changed and perfect actually here we need to have a look at the tail the position of the tower because they might shoot the tail separately not that lines come with tail separately but um I think that way should do that you're gonna shoot yeah, well should we've already shot the center of the flower as I said, I used to know have you got that right second and you know it helps travel if you're putting anywhere together digitally like this it helps to have some separate ingredients just in case you need them don't I wood I think it needs to be doing a few options yes, yeah we're gonna go okay, I'm gonna get out from behind here you block the light it doesn't hurt while we're waiting just to you know have all of these options that look this is the benefit of digital photography as well because some, you know, in the, uh in the film dice um I just couldn't do it, could you? So I wanted to let you know that we have a very international audience joining us and and we have people joining us from brazil, the netherlands, belgium, argentina, chile, buenos aires, france, italy, puerto rico, germany, argentina so everybody that's out there thank you so much for joining us. If you haven't already click on the chat icon that is right over here next to you that way you can talk with each other, share your and get these memories with each other. Actually, I wanted to mention that to people while we're still waiting for a baby that if you go to ann's facebook paige, we are collecting she's collecting were all collecting memories that you have of an gettys over the past thirty years if you will on dh there's people already sharing their stories they're sharing photos of themselves or seen somebody who had met you previously and she's got a photo of her self with you another from the mid nineties is on and other people are just sharing their memories people saying how they've collected your every calendar over the years and so it's just really cool to see a lot of the the new mothers these days grew up with my image rights right? Yeah yeah it's really nice you know, I think um babies is so important to so many people and um I started touch with a lot of the bible says I've grown into adults uh it's just amazing you know t actually think that the strength of this work and the fact that it's a meaning pulled so many people says a lot of a lot that's positive human beings isn't really yeah well isn't that as we've talked over the days and months I mean about that's what drives you and that is that I love um that is just everyone just you know you see them tonight they just wonderful they are guile this they they are just themselves you know and I think that's what everybody loves about um and you know you have to therefore should actually be yourself they force you actually just let go of all your inhibitions and and just enjoy being human you know and that's what I find so joyful about you know being a part of this process I'll just froth does look a bit bizarre with tiles city probably needs to come up a little bit from the front door so it doesn't go out of shot okay you have a little you can just watch maybe maybe if it just goes oh look completely different generation it's just going with happy lion and reliant relax lion by the tail all right just wait brian wait okay wait how do you normally work with a digital techniques brian's a dj well yeah hey uh basically make sure that everything gets to where it needs to go you know I've as a photographer it's really my vision and all of this gear needs to operate you know really well and that's why I've got such a great team of people I've got john um who's camera here yes tio tio a lot of people some credit yeah so john tia um and daniel is here a swell coming saying it's really a good team is really, really important come over here don't shine a good ten is really really important times off getting these images to where they need to pay you know and and it's great for me to have the support of the team as well because you know to just it's such a luxury to just be able to say, this is what I know this's, my vision, yeah, and that these people helped tow bring it to fruition. So I appreciate your yeah, you that's great, so we'll get to it, has that, but it's pretty good, isn't it? Looks great. Okay, well, we'll leave it at night with progress with the tail, huh? Kind of in the end booth, you think it will be? I think it needs to just come down around and down, way the baby's not crying, and you have to keep the law, so you tend to be challenged on wei, have got a dead as well, so we'll need does to two stools, but something looks great now. I'm rich.

I just read the other reviews and think people may not have watched the preview video or listened to Kenna's explanation of what was going to happen. I felt the class was exactly what was advertised, and thought Kenna did an excellent job keeping things moving when there were obvious delays or unexpected events with "the talent" (the babies). I felt like I was at Anne's studio and experiencing what actually happens when she is working on a project. You can't script babies and pets, so you go with the flow and adapt. I think that's what they said and did. Kenna was always prepared to discuss Anne's books, or other topics and did a great job getting personal/and professional with Anne-just as they said they were going to. It is Creative "Live" so it could have been Much less organized, and much more chaotic, but I was actually Very impressed with the production and smoothness of the Creative Live team. I did feel like my view was blocked at times when I wanted to see how they were setting up some of the actual shots- but in general I think they did just about as well as you could in those conditions. I am not paid by Creative Live nor do they probably even know me, but I'm very happy to support and actually buy their content-because I don't know another place/format that teaches so many different, practical, and interesting topics as they do and I Love that they take chances like this and really do Deliver. Anne was very clear that she is not a technician. Creative Live has Tons of Great Technician classes in So many genres of photography (and of course other area)- with Anne's class there is Plenty to Learn from her, but the value does not come in the Wam Bam machine gun delivery of latest tech and tools, it is in the methodical, patient, But Driven pace that is anything but chaotic (as one reviewer said). As I said at the beginning, I think they delivered exactly what was advertised and I am very happy with my purchase. There is a wealth of information and frankly entertainment, for someone who is interested in really seeing behind the doors... AND, it is good for new people and experienced people, who are looking to get better in their craft, more successful, or maybe even famous-if they are honest...to see that not every day in a studio (or in any profession really)-Even for Anne Geddes- is Glamourous, Exciting and "Sexy": sometimes it is crying babies that need their diapers changed.

I had the honor of supporting Anne in her launch of her beautiful line of baby clothing here in Washington ( as her fulfillment provider ) and her attention to every detail, their willingness to share their commitment to an unforgettable experience for every customer - it was such a pleasure to see the magic on the photography side of the business that I never had the opportunity to witness. Pure perfection, and thank you so much for sharing. Best to Anne and Kel! Michelle Harden

Watched the first day of this event and it was very different than other creative live workshops. Different is sometimes good and sometimes bad, this session was just that good and bad. It really lacked the teaching aspect, they did not go over her equipment, basic camera and lighting settings used to create the look she wants in her images etc...The lady who was interviewing her was terrible Anne seemed really open to share but the questions were very poor and lacked follow up and really diving into what Anne was doing. It was really neat to get to watch her work, she has an amazing personality that really is soft and kind and it showed in the way she worked with the parents, babies, and her team. It was a great overview of how she approaches the studio and a project and the detail that goes into making a top notch image. It is however weak on giving you the info strait up on how to improve your own work. If you want to see what it's like to work with a big team on a major project this is a great workshop. If you want technical teaching it is not so great.
