Guided Edit Overview

We're gonna pop over to guided edit now and talk through what this is about and we'll do an example. So guided edit. It has a lot of fun features. If you like to be able to take a photo and straight up just wanna play with it. What is something so fun and cool that I can do this photo and I don't have to have a ton of experience or spend too much time learning something? I can just go here, okay? So go to guided edit. You'll notice that there are some sub divisions here. So within the guided edit, we've got a basic collection, a color effects and color stuff you can do, some black and white edit, some fun edit, some special edit, and this option to do photo merge, which is really cool. So photo merge, while we're here, I can just mention this to you, because I think the coolest thing in photo merge is the scene cleaner, I think. And I am not gonna show you this today but there are some good examples within this eLive you can see. Some good examples. This is useful as you are on vacatio...

n someplace and you go to, you know, a big touristy spot, like I suppose, here in Seattle, maybe that would be at the Space Needle. And if you take pictures of the area, there's gonna be a lot of tourists around. So scene cleaner works by you take multiple photos of the scene and then the scene cleaner stacks them together and stitches them together in a way that gets rid of any of the variables. So if you take multiple pictures, this guy in the red jacket's not gonna be in all the photos in this same spot. So elements know that he doesn't belong and then it'll just erase him like that. So it's kinda magic. So that's kind of a neat thing you can experiment with. And this will walk you through the whole process. Over under basics, some neat things, some of it's redundant, so here's cropping, obviously, we already talked about cropping photos. So it's really just simple. Adjusting brightness and contrast, correcting skin tone. Those are things that you can do in the quick work space as well, of course, in the expert's work space. But here, it's just a different way to access the same stuff. So this is guided. What that means is they walk you through steps.

a Creativelive Student

Just watching this class live. It's my first class with Khara; she is a wonderful teacher, moving at a steady speed but always being careful to let us know what she's doing in the moment. I would classify myself as intermediate in terms of PSE but I've learned lots of little things that will make further use even easier and more fun. I really appreciated her descriptions of the difference between PS and PSE and her encouragement in using Photoshop Elements and all that it can do.

I have only been able to watch portions of this class but every single part that I have watched has been technically clear and inspiring to me. Based on this experience and the thorough, 58 item list of lessons, I will surely be buying this class soon! Thank you Khara and Creativelive for making a class on this topic and making it be super!!
