ood morning, I'm powertel nous I am right a sort of quirky lifestyle photography food blogger called mirror mirror which is some mira mira dot typepad dot com on I'm member xx on two to an instagram I was actually in one of his classes for room photoshopped week, and I thought I was quite good at light room and realize that actually I'm not so I'm really excited to be here this morning. Hi, my name is marie blud scare and I also have, um, blogged about cooking lifestyle it zoe, mostly a vegetarian, can easygoing anger may style of cooking, so I twitter, I'm at under me world, and I'm really looking forward to learning more about light room, hopefully using some of the techniques for food photography and just really looking forward to his workshop. So I like the fact that she said that she's she doesn't easy going vegetarian blawg and I think that's got to be hard to be vegetarian, so how can happy like I it seems like you have, like, really search out places that they will give you something you like that's not easy going that's difficult, but not if you make it yourself you don't really have, then you don't have, so you wouldn't worry about buying meat so that's pretty easy going your own food is difficult, those well, like I have a tough time with that like to be in jail about as far as I get, is it that's, right see the eventual destination a teo teo that ok, good I discovered something about myself high on patty stokes I'm a photographer and I specialize in portrait I do some big events and I like fine art um you can find me at patty stokes photography on facebook and that'll lead to my website and twitter um I have used light room probably the past few years started with light room to here we are at four point four and sometimes it's a mess I just found out with the spray paint can was used for last week so I always thought it was a retouching tool so love yeah, and so I'm really looking forward to the next three days and doing a deep dive in the light room, my usual light room a lot and looking forward to finding out some things that I don't yet know excellent well, in addition to our in studio audience, we also have you joining us from all over the world we're seeing some great locations coming in on the chat room if you want to just shout out your name where you're joining us from what you're excited to learn, that would be awesome and jim and I would love to give you a shout out for starters, we have a meal from romania good morning and sky from switzerland let's see we got uh per varian from oslo, norway and we have melissa from lancaster, massachusetts welcome you guys yeah and we have a hell uh with lots of exclamation points from spain welcome shave hello back with that money those an exclamation point on michelle coming in from fredericksburg I'm guessing that somewhere a europe let us know and we got peas s w photography hello from gilbert, arizona you're back a backyard so that was my front yard, right? We have asked fred writes from pennsylvania and another marion from romania. We got charles in dubai who says howdy doody from by the second you always over and I decided that I would fit right and I'm gonna I'm gonna go good to dubai them yeah. Good morning to amy in taiwan we love to see people from all over this this great world coming to us it's so it's so it's fun, it's exciting! I feel like we need one of those maps. You know where you have like the pins where everyone comes from is that too old school? I don't believe you can act and have their own like ken where they are were chatting over as we were beginning about jade's history and his background and photography and it was really fun to hear all of your really glamorous beginnings and like photography positions he's had a really thick past would you like to share like e good that's good you know, like my my glamorous childhood I was I was raised in a town with more cows than people so that was interesting was very high high end glamour there um I my first my first photo job was taking pictures of frat parties and you know, just just an ass he is big party school and so I was just the most ridiculous drunken brawls taking pictures of random people on by and my purpose was to take pictures and then I would we would post them on the frat or the sorority wall and then they would choose the pictures and I think really they were just trying to prove they had a good time cause they don't remember a thing that was going on you know, so fact, I remember one of the photographers were little she was like a maybe five foot nothing short pretty little girl and they had thrown her into a fountain with her cameras and stuff, so I mean it really they were nutty parties, so and then I had another job taking pictures of animals on santa's lap that was interesting on day always had the it was always the humane side that would have like someone coming and dressing a santa and so it wasn't the real santa it's for anybody who's listening in a home or kids they're watching it wasn't the real santa knows of someone pretending to be santa and anyway, so so they would have this like a little lady coming and dress up in santa and then they would hold the pets and one guy brought in a boa constrictor and this portal of what he's like holding a book and said that that was not fun day for her so strange strange beginnings and photography actually so yes, it sounds awesome I love hearing out everyone kind of don't know evolves on arrives there? Well, you do it do what you can do right? And but the thing is is I think that those kind of experiences are the best way to learn I learned mohr shooting at frat parties about photography than it did in college because college is more about art, you know all the it's, all the high brow discussions on art and composition and whatever but the technical side it's hardly ever taught at a college even in the more technical colleges you come out of there and you still know almost nothing about the technical inside of photography it's it's the trial by fire that's when you really get that information ingrained into you because you know I was paid by the usable frame and so if I if I couldn't get thirty usable frames out of a thirty six roll of of film, then I wasn't making any money, so that kind of trial by fire is important so there you have it. Kids from professor plot go find the fat party that's, right on shooting with a film camera in manual mode with no auto focus and no auto flash. That's. How you learn what are very impressive, that it is nine a m and we're going to get started officially, with light room one on one with the light room professor entered platte.
