Class Introduction

Today we are going to answer some major questions, because last week Adobe just released a brand new program that has the same name as the old program. It's Lightroom CC, so a lot of people will think, "Lightroom CC, well I already know what that is," or "I've already used that," because it's that really big amazingly complex, like lots of stuff you can do. But that's not what Lightroom CC is anymore. So what Adobe did, is they actually changed the name. They introduced a brand new program that they built from the ground up, with same concepts in mind as Lightroom, but it's called Lightroom CC, which is what you always called Lightrooms anyway. And then they took Lightroom that you know and love, and they gave it a new name called Lightroom Classic. Which was really kind of a very confusing, difficult transition for everybody. And so we're gonna clear some of that up. But we're also going to, in the process, and mostly for the next two days with an extra eight segments of class, we are...

, this whole class is all about Lightroom CC, which is the program for organizing and editing your photos. But it's much more simple than the original Lightroom was. Which Lightroom was also very simple in comparison to, say, Photoshop. So Photoshop was like complexity, really really high complexity. And then Lightroom was introduced, and it's much simpler, it's more photo based, people love it because it's more like going into a darkroom and doing something very simple and very photographic. We're not trying to swap heads out and stuff like that. Well, Lightroom CC now, the new version of Lightroom CC, is even simpler than that. And to prove it, I brought my mom to class with me. (laughter) So this is my mom, this is Mary Platt, she is the one that made me. And so I brought her with me because I figured, you know, if I can teach my mom to use this program, then anybody else can use this program, right? So that's always the challenge, is teaching your mom to do something. There she is, she's right there, and we're gonna teach her how to do it.

This class blew my mind! As a full-time professional photographer, with a very complicated workflow (that is next to impossible to explain to my assistant) I cannot express how essential this class is to overhauling and simplifying my workflow. I am so excited to finally be able to split my workflow between multiple laptops and work stations WITHOUT having to build a server at my studio. I love that I now have a framework to start building a new organizational and backup system that I can easily train others on, and mobilize quickly. With all of the changes and improvements that Adobe is bringing to Lightroom CC & Classic, this class is integral to understanding and utilizing the program to its fullest potential! Jared Platt is a wonderful teacher and this class especially is perfect for novices and seasoned professionals alike!

I was lucky enough to participate in-studio for this class. Jared is a great presenter and broke down the complicated Lightroom CC vs. Lightroom Classic changes. His conversational style of presenting kept things interesting and participants involved. This course was much more than just learning what the programs do. Jared walked through sample workflows to show when and why you would use the multitude of sliders and editing tools within the program. The course is worth every penny! Topics will remain pertinent well after newer versions of Lightroom CC and Classic are released.

I won't be able to watch all of this, but I purchased it anyway. Jared's ability to address the technical as well as the artistic aspects of Lightroom is unparalleled. He is one of my preferred presenters, especially for Lightroom. I especially appreciate how he has clarified the differences among the versions of Lightroom that are available. Thank you Jared!
