Creating Great Social Post Directly From Lightroom Mobile

adding type or logos in Lightroom Mobile. Most people think you can't do it, but you can, it's a little buried. And I think it's a way to make your social posts a little more interesting. And or actually to provide a product for a client. So we're going to review how to add text or logos in Lightroom Mobile. And also I'm going to talk about a third party addition and why I like what I mean by that sorry, is to add type with a third party product software on your mobile device. And why I like to talk about this during the masking class or course is that sometimes you need to make adjustments to your file so your type can read or the logo can read and this is a perfect area to explore. So let's take a look. This is how it goes. I will often do a shoot, be on location, do my editing and then when I export I export the images with a logo and it's super fast and easy and it can go directly to social clients. Love this stuff. So here's how it works when you're on your image and you click sha...

ring these are the options that come up, you've got share to link, invite, open, export, export files, share, edit and export as the one you want to look at is export as. So when you're here you can choose your file type and if you notice you've got jpeg tiff or D N G to place a logo, you're going to want to use the tiff version. And what you'll see is you have a choice of tiff size, dimension eight bit or 16 bit compression. But what you really want to pay attention to is include a watermark you have to think about is these logos are actually watermarks. Okay, It's pretty awesome. I'm gonna show you this in two seconds. F Y I you can also change your color space if you'd like to. So when you click on include water market takes you to this dialog box and you can either do a text and type in a copyright or you can select graphic. And when you select graphic, you're going to load in from your phone however your phone works in this way, you're gonna load whatever logos you've already preloaded and show you that in just a second. And then you can position the logo wherever you like. This is very limited but super cool. Let me walk you through how easy this is. So I'm on my image, whatever that images. If I do a press and long hold, you can see what my edit is. I'm going to click on the top to the share. I'm going to go to export as and when I'm here, as I said, you can pick tiff drug or jpeg. But I want tip for this. Okay, so I'm gonna click OK to that again, you could change your sizing here, Largest, smallest custom et cetera. There's lots to play in here. 16 bit or eight bit down here on the bottom, you can see your choice. Okay. And then I go to include watermark. And click on the customize. Now this is where you have to pay close attention. You can either pick a text where you type in your circle C. Right? And then I'm going to go to the graphic. Now, this is where it's very important on this graphic. I have these graphics loaded up on my I drive ICloud drive. I am a Mac user. If you're an android user, you're going to have to figure this out. Google can help you. I don't use android so I don't know. But on a Mac you load it up on your ICloud drive. So I'm going to go to my logos and on this one, before I do a job I have whatever I think I'm gonna need already loaded up. So in this case it's going to be the paddleboard logo and I'm going to select it and once I've selected that I can change the size to tiny or small. It's not really a very sophisticated menu here. I can make it let's go pick or moral pick, pick, I can slide it horizontally. Again, it's it's not super sophisticated but it's sophisticated enough. And then do you see the rotate button here? I can click it 1234. All right, those are my choices. But when I like that and I click on the arrow. Upper arrow on the left hand side. And I go back and I say yes, that's good. And remember on the Lightroom mobile the checkboxes to confirm, I now have my choice of where to export it and I'm gonna go ahead and I could pick instagram, I could pick facebook, I could save my image to my camera, roll, whatever it is I want, let me do another one with you real quick. So I have this picture of my friend kept saying she came for a visit. When a press and long hold you'll see how much space there is and how light it is. I made it light because I wanted to put a logo on here. So again, I'm going to go to the X to the share export as tiff customize and then where the logo goes, I'm gonna pick a logo. So on that one I'm gonna pick Lola And again, I can make it larger. I can change the offset. I can change the vertical offset. So you want to do your visual edits to work for your logo. Right, let's try one more let's say I have this image of a dog and I want to put a border around it. I'm gonna go export as export as customized water mark. And here inside I've actually put a border. Now I have to change the size and I have to change the offset. It's going to take a minute. But now if I wanted to I could put a little border around this picture. How fun is that? You just got to be willing to experiment. And the other thing that's a little weird is you can't see it until you export it. So I'm gonna export that to my camera roll. So let me talk to you about one of my favorite programs on the iphone or on an android, which is lends the start. I use this all the time. I'm going to click on begin project. You see, I use Lightroom for everything. I've got a ton of images already here. You can also select photos if you want to load from your camera roll, from your albums, whatever. I'm gonna cancel that because I already have a picture I'd like to use. I'm gonna use they're going to use this picture. Okay, so I seriously love this program for all kinds of stuff. It has all sorts of lighting effects you can do and particulates snow, I mean heck fire, it's great. But what I'm here to talk to you about is type. So everything all the elements slide over, you just slide, slide, slide slide. Okay, so I'm gonna go to the type which is up here on the top. All right, I'm just going to click on Oswald right now and I'm gonna say, let's see your groovy type. Okay. Nothing, nothing too exciting. I'm gonna hit done. Oh my what's starting to happen here now. Pay close attention here. There's the editing button right in the middle so I can change the color to whatever I want to, whatever reads, let's say for giggles right now I'd like this sand color. I'm gonna let me tell you one other thing, you can change the hue in here, saturation and brightness all inside here. I really love this program, I think I need to tell you right now, one of the other reasons I love this program is I suck it type, I really do. And this program allows me to, I don't know, make some cool type moves. Look, you can enlarge it and I'm gonna let go for a second, click the checkbox. Say yes, I'm going to click on my picture right in the center, I'm gonna grab that type and I'm gonna slide it down. How cool is that? Gonna go back to color and make it brighter. I think I'm gonna leave it there and make it brighter. Um The next thing I want to show you is size so you can change the size which I just showed you that. What a silly girl, I'm gonna show you, wait look at this, you can make it fat or thin isn't as awesome and then let's say you make it fatter. Well then you can change the tracking, track it in tight, tight, tight, track it and track it out. Oh my God, I love this, You can make it all upper case or lower case. Upper. Lower. How cool is that? If you have multiple lines, you can change the alignment. I obviously only have one line here and you can make it soft, like blurry. Right? So wait a minute look an opacity and font and duplicate. Oh my there's so much so I'm going to duplicate this and on that duplicated one, I'm gonna go and slide over and soften it. So you can make a glow over your type. Oh, now, come on, how cool is that? So listen, this is another reason why I talk about this with Lightroom Mobile. You're taking a light ray mobile class. Why am I in lens distortion? Because this is one of the perks of working in a mobile ecosystem and working on a phone and or ipad, you have immediate access to all of this. You could copy this edit if you'd like and paste it to another image. So let's say I'm going to go to this project here. There's my groovy type all over again. Do you see how amazing this can be? I'm gonna go back one go back here and then I can export this. I can export a tiff jpeg max or share it. Oh, who wants to go to instagram with their immediate whatever they have going on. See how cool this is. So again, I know you're in a Lightroom mobile class, but imagine all the extra possibilities you have just because you're in that ecosystem. I demo this on an iphone, but this is available on an android. Not all the functions inside this application are free. Some of them are add on purchases, but heck fire. Take a look at it, see what you like. It's amazing for type. I mean, imagine if you do a engagement shooting folks want to send a save the date or congratulations or some kind of something immediately. Both of these versions were done in three minutes, one in lightroom and one in lens distort. And again, I'm not great at type, but you can produce something pretty quickly that's kind of decent.
