Final Thoughts

You know, Cheryl, it really boils down. Teoh people constantly. We've heard it all. I think the original word I heard that startled me was morbid. I I think that was the 1st 1 of the first times that we had created these sessions that we were hearing that word. And we've gone from such strong words to your angels, your beautiful. What you do is a miracle. And and we've had so many photographers and and more so people who have never had Children or people who are not photographers. We hear this all the time. I couldn't do that. Or how could you do that? There's just no way. And and I think we've said it before. But when you go through this process, when you actually provide this service and you deliver these images and you've heard from a nurse's perspective and from the parents perspective, the depth and the meaning of these images goes far beyond anything that you could do in this world. And so for us, it's How could you not do this? It's something that we just cannot imagine not prov...

iding this requirement. I made the statement years like right out of the gate and I think it's become honestly one of the trade mark statements of our organization because truly we cannot change what's happening to these families. Whether we as photographers, go to the hospital, we provide this service no matter what. These families will not go home with their child. And so, although we can't change what's happening to them, we literally changed the way that they will heal for the rest of their lives. Days and months and years. Thes families will go back to those images and they will forget you and they will forget the moment. But they will have their child, and I just feel like that is so important. Now I have Teoh really give tribute here to such an incredible person. Cheryl has really been. I'm sorry, but you know, I I know I get I know my name is attached to this, but without Cheryl, this never would have existed. I think you put all of your energy and all of your grief and I was kind of running behind tryingto get the photographers enlisted. But Cheryl really did do something amazing. But more so than that this beautiful little boy that came into this world that, um, touched his parents live and touched my life so quickly has touched tens of thousands of people over the years when we've seen our website. Now I lay me down to sleep, has had millions and millions of hits. People all over the world have reached out and read about Maddox and heard your story, and it's It's so inspiring to know I always feel like where the tiniest little part were like a speck of dust in the massiveness of this organization. But it definitely is an honor. And I am grateful that I've had the opportunity, sir. Well, I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't know where our family, where I would be where family would be right now. Um, after the loss of a child without those photographs, they're hung prominently in my home. It's not every day that I go and stand in front of them and stare Adam, but if I walk in the room, it's just that comfort of knowing there, there, there. And like I said earlier, there's a story with that photograph, and that little boy has a name, and generations from now my great grandkids will be Who's this? And again, there is a story that goes with that photograph. But, um, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for for being there for us at night. I mean, this is a woman that, um it originally had plans with her family, and it changed everything to be there for my family and to create those memories for us. But not only do I want to thank you, but I want to thank every photographer out there that has ever done a session for family. If if if if What I have conveyed of what the images mean to me, I mean, I could just imagine what that family feels about their images and their child. And again, they have a story and, you know, they have, ah, legacy that they have created, you know, with that child there. So and again, Thank you all for this is wow. I mean to be I mean, I you know, I'm just a little housewife in Evergreen, Colorado. Okay, kids back and forth, but it's it's incredibly honored, and I'm very humbled to be here. It's just it's awesome. So I think we I mean, we could spend four more hours thanking from the ground up people who magically appeared about the time that we were going to fall apart and go to our knees and have built this organization. But honestly, if we could do it just a global thank you to the many people that have supported these organizationally done incredible things. But today I think the support and honor truly needs to go back to our wonderful friends at Creativelive. Because, as I said before, you guys have given us this this voice that we could have never had. And I think you have giving us the opportunity to go far beyond where we were headed. So thank you so much. What I'd like to do is just share with you a final video and then we'll close the show. This'll is little Angel Maddox, born into this world on February 4th 2005 received unto the Lord February 10th 2005. Maddox only lived a short time on this Earth, but he has made an enormous difference in the lives of thousands of other families who are grieving the loss of a child Maddux was born with a condition called myo tubular myopathy that prevented him from breathing, swallowing or moving on his own. On the sixth day of his young life, his parents had to make the excruciating decision to take him off life support. But before they did, they called professional photographer Sandy Push to take beautiful heirloom portrait's of them cradling their son. The's tender photographs documenting Maddox is eternal connection with his parents inspired Maddox's mother, Cheryl Haggard and photographer Sandy Push to found a nonprofit organization to serve families who are suffering through pregnancy and infant loss with the gift of free professional portraiture. They named the organization after a simple bedtime prayer. Now I lay me down to sleep. When a baby dies, a world is turned upside down. There is confusion, sadness, fear and uncertainty that cannot be explained. There is sorrow where there should have been joy during this time. It might be impossible for families to know what they might need in order to heal in the future. This is when the now I lay me down to sleep. Foundation gently provides a helping hand and ah, healing heart. We offer these families soft, gentle, professional heirloom portrait's of their beautiful babies. These images allow families to honor and cherish their babies and share the spirits of their lives. Our volunteer photographers offer their time, talents, skills, compassion and sensitivity. They capture precious moments and preserve visual memories for families to cherish the love and beauty of a new life that touched their hearts so briefly. Our services are available for infant loss as early as 25 weeks gestation or at the discretion of medical personnel. We need your help every day. Approximately 145 babies between 20 weeks gestation and one year of age die in the United States. More professional photographers are desperately needed to serve the families that are requesting our services. Our photographers provide the family with a private and sensitive photography session and a CD with images retouched if needed at no cost. The family will use the CD to print images of the developer of their choice and at their cost. Many of our photographers also give the families a beautiful DVD slideshow set to music that now I lay me down to sleep provides for this use. We provide our photographers with extensive online training and emotional support through a private photographers forum located at www dot now I sleep dot com. In addition, we offer periodic training seminars and have volunteer retouch er's available to assist photographers in their efforts. Please consider joining our organization together. We can make a difference in the lives of these families. Uh, do you want We've been waiting for you The thrill beside why coats came in hats low talk for close the curtain evidence, I said.
