Cavalier: Two Puppies on Posing Bag

Well we've got two up here now, asleep. I can sort of transition this little one up here. And we can bring this one on. And pose them together. We've got both heads sort of in the same, direction here. (mumbles) Yeah, last man standing. Last girl standing I think, yeah. She want's to in there, that's okay. So I'm just gonna pull this little one's bottom half out just a bit. There we go. And bring their faces around together. Which means their bodies have to be... (mumbles) Yeah I'll slide my hand down here underneath. There we go. (mumbles) She's laying unhappy there. There's a cloth there, if you want to stuff that in there. Okay hang on. See if I can just turn her over a bit here. There we go. She's turning again. (laughing) Let's see then, if she's determined to go on her back like that, let's see if we can turn him. And do you need his head this way? No, we'll keep him there and they can be side by side. There we go. Yeah, that's too cute. And I'll just grab, someth...

ing to pop underneath their heads, and raise them up a bit. Okay, so just turning them in towards each other, so their little faces are side by side. So with this set up, I'm gonna shoot from above and down. I just want to pull that blanket as tight as I can there. Okay. (mumbles) Okay, are their head gonna stay? Perfect. I can hear their little bellies. (laughing) So I'll shoot from above again with this one. But what I think might be kinda' cute... You see their bottom legs are kida' coming, out a bit there. I might just tuck this up. Over the top there. Get those feet down. And then if I can get you, Jadey, to give this a good pull. Try and get rid of as many wrinkles as possible. I'll pull up from the other side as well. And she did, she went in there to go to sleep. I'm gonna give it a pull. They're right in there. So it's gonna be a fairly close up one. (camera beeping) (camera shutter) Camera settings haven't changed. Looking at that histogram, looks pretty good. So I might just kind of make a few little tweaks here in terms of getting them absolutely perfect. What I need to do is bring this little guy's bum down a bit. He's going into a nice sleep there. There we go. (mumbles) It's so cute. (laughing) Turn his head in a little bit. We've got a tongue out. Okay, there it is. Oh my gosh. Hold that tongue. Dreaming. Garret, can I get you to come in and grab the other side of this blanket... So we can get it just perfect. (shushing) This one. Just stick that tongue back in. Take that thumb away. (shushing) That's cute. She's gonna go. And there. (shushing) (puppies whining) (camera beeping) (puppies whining) (camera beeping) Whenever you're ready. (clicking) (camera shutter) (clicking) (kissing) (camera shutter) Too cute. That was a really close up shot, so I caught him sleeping and her awake.

I am not a photographer. I do compositing using Photoshop and was interested in seeing how they set up and pose such lively subjects. Such care was taken with the puppies and I learned a lot about getting just the right poses using different setups like muslin, bowls, etc. For compositing, it's important to know what you are looking for in order to bring images together correctly. This course, besides being fun to watch, has helped me, even if my images don't wiggle as much as these puppies.

I loved everything about this class!! It was so obvious by the handling and the way you interacted with the puppies how much care and thought goes into the artwork you created. I'm so excited to put all of your ideas into my own creativity. Thank you for providing me with the inspiration to move forward with pet photography!
