Editing Sites Demo

All right, let's have some fun Editing. Editing can be really, really dry subject. I'm not I'm not interested, Really. In editing, to be honest with you, I have learned it because 1/2 do. We talked earlier today earlier in this course about our sales process. When it comes to the studio where we'll have a photo session and in that photo session will be a couple little kids, for instance. And we'll have actually three little kids and the one that we're gonna talk about. They came in and they were a lot of fun. And Mom and Dad and the nanny were there, and they wanted to to buy pictures. And the little kids were being kind of annoying, right? Like little kids could do. So the little kids would much rather play with my dog and group around. And I figured you know what, Louis? I'm gonna help you out here. I said I'm gonna take these little kids. I'm gonna goto goof around with them. We're gonna take some pictures of him. So we have a very heavy table like this that we shoot on right? Becau...

se you know that we shoot table shots right Well, one of the things that I did that I just thought was kind of fun was I said, Well, kids love the dance on tables, right? I The table was strong enough. I could dance on the table. So next thing you know, Louise over there with Mom and Dad selling pictures and me and the three kids or dance on the table and we're shooting. And now, Chris, I hopped off. We got pictures of them dancing. I have video of them dancing. And what do they buy? The one a bit dancing. So it just goes to show you that sometimes even though you think you got the shot that you want to, you're going to be able to buy that piece of photo that they want. You could take a piece of video. You can end it real quick. You could get them whatever they wanted to video wise Ban, they go ahead and thereby the video piece. So we were able to do something that we weren't able to do because we had the capabilities of editing. Now, how do we have the capabilities of editing? There is a Brazilian ways toe edit. So what I'm gonna do is I'm going to use my laptop and you're gonna be able to see here live in the audience here with some of the tools that we use. We talked a little earlier today about the slide shows that we call Maya's picks. That we use in my studio all the time. Now happens to be a test that I did for Fuji Film, where they had a brand new camera that had a color. It had this crazy, super high color, and they wanted to have me deliver to them a Siris of images that shows how you use this Fuji camera. I think I might be able to make a bigot for you. I don't know how much bigger it will get you go that shows off color. And remember, part of my job as a photographer is to test cameras. I know people get paid to get test cameras. What a job, huh? OK, so I get paid to be able to go figure out how this camera handles very low light situations, right? Super rock concert. Look at the color on that stuff. Well, there are times when they need all this stuff in a hurry. You think? Well, well, what you gonna do? Are you going to send them a set of images on a gallery? But we've also got some video going on in there to Can I just send them a gallery? What's gonna end up going to Japan's where it's gonna end up going, or can I just make them a slide show that they'll play and they'll watch and they will really dig it? Because I want them to see all the pictures. I didn't want them to just see three or four room. You don't with it. So as you see these air, all images that have a super hard blackness with your camera before it came out. By the way, these are big blast colors right now. How did I make this? How did I edit this and put this together? I just use Pro Show Web, just pro show web. Nothing fancy. That's all it is why I didn't need to crack out one of the big fancy pieces and put it together when this just does a very adequate job of doing when I needed to do so. Here's the point. The point is Yeah, I got a bunch of different editing solutions. There's a bunch of them. There's expensive ones. There's hard won Steve's. There's easy ones. Views. Sometimes even these cheap was I don't ultimatum approach a Web cost. Maybe maybe bucks a year. Whatever is gonna be. But now I'm able to after I go through this video. Aiken, download this. Anyway, I want to say I wanted to After I did this slide show say, I wanted to edit it. I could click on edit. What you could do is you can see each one of the pictures, and then it says, Here is the transition that it used to go to. That picture used a transition called reflection. Zoom in. This one used background drop zoom to go in. Let's scroll on down. Here's the whole slide show in an editing timeline, and that's what this is called. I need to introduce you to a new word that's called a timeline. This one's kind of fun because it says this is just your basic a B edit, right? This is going to be a cross fade, but it's going to be a linear. It's going to be an angle faith. Right now, that time is gonna take 0.69 three seconds. Gore's only a nerd like me would think that that was important, right? Of course, it's not important. Next, If you wanted to add music to that, you could click on add music right here, and you could then upload your own music from your computer. Please be careful when you do that. I never recommend for people to do that by licensed music. Please don't steal music. You don't really Frost rates Frost me is that I've made 78 videos on photo education in my entire career and, you know, with all of except the four of, um, you could hop online somewhere to some overseas website and you can download them or streaming wherever you want to for free. You know, that really drives me nuts because they're going to use the information that I gave them to go make money as a photographer and they didn't have the decency to spend 10 bucks or whatever it's gonna be. Oh, that's just frustrating to me. Or here's what I do. Add the music from the library from Pro Show. Now, like granted, it's not the most perfect gorgeous music, but in the whole world that there is. But you know what? It's good enough. We didn't need any music for this piece because it was going right back over to Fuji, and that's that's all. That's all that mattered. Now you can add extra effects if you want to. You can watch whatever you need to. Let's see. I'm just gonna go back a little bit when you want to go to download, save that piece of video. You have a couple of OCD options. Now I use a piece called Dropbox. Dropbox is a A subscription program that allows you to have a chunk of space that's literally up in a cloud. And I've gotta think five gigs worth of space. What we can do is we can park things up in that cloud. Then we can go get a link to that and Aiken, send that link to you. And I could say, Here you go. I authorize you to be able to take this link and download it and do it ever do with it with you. What? You please. That's what's nice about Dropbox. Well, Dropbox plays nice with a lot of different applications, one being Pro Show Web. And of course, remember we talked earlier about brands that there are certain brands that any time that brand comes around, we love it where you got it. Anything from Pro Show is always going to get five stars from Mr Crockett. So here what we got, we've got the ability to download the standard video. Now they refer to the standard video as Ah, 3 60 p. Now that mean that's going to be pixels tall? It's going to be an MP four, which is the compression style video. It's not that bad now. Then there's DVD quality, which arguably isn't really all that terrific we want to deal with. So there's 480 if we want to. And of course, and there's 2 for the mobile now these air just the basic videos, right? Well, there's HD videos here that we want to get back down to now. What we're gonna do is we're gonna go on down here to the Crockett section of the menu. There you go, full HD video. Let's go. But a 10. p and an MP four. Do I want to save it til I drop box Woo. That means I can click this Aiken, close my computer. I could go back home or back to the hotel, and by the time I get there, it's going to be on the Dropbox. So if I want to share it with you and with you and with you and with you, all I have to do is get a link, send out the email, sent out the email. You can download it from Dropbox than Dropbox. Convey eel with it, not a problem. Or if you want to, you can download it right here. You can download that whole darn thing, though. It's gonna be a Chevy file, right? That's big file. I love this basic HD video, right? 7 20 p. Basic HD video. All right, here's some of something else. That's kind of cool. Let's say you want to burn a DVD that you want to play in a DVD player. You can't just take a file and burn it to a DVD and expected to play a video file. When you plug it into a DVD player right, it needs to be put into what's called the I s O format, so that when the DVD is put into the DVD player, where recognizes it's a movie or it's something that needs to be played and it goes and plays it well, we've also got Blue Ray, right in case you want to burn a disc for Blue Ring, right? And the only difference, by the way, between a DVD and a blue raise one is is small, nasty standard definition and blue rays h d. So that's all it is. A blue Ray is an HD DVD, and Blue Ray was one of those things six years ago when we went to see S they all said Blue raise Next biggest things like I got on this four k stuff we got going before. You know what? Everything is going to be Blue Ray. And until you buy a blue ray player, you're realized that is slow as mud, right? It's very slow. It's huge. You can't scan through it very well. I've got a couple blue Ray players. I hate him and then there's edit with pro show. Oh, here's your upgrade. Say you get pro Show Web and now you decide. Well, hang on a second. I like this. This is a good tool. I wanna edit this with Pro Show and Pro Show is a stand alone device to standalone applications. So the three flavors that come from our friends at photo decks the 1st 1 is the one you're looking at. Pro Show Web. That's where you start your a total rookie. You're on a total budget. You're a college student. You want to get ready to do all this hybrid photo stuff. You go right to pro Show. Webb can't afford to go to over Dan Fosters Lab. That's okay. Approach a web. Then. If you want to, you can edit with Pro Show, which is gonna be its own its own separate piece of software. You just click there you go to create. You gotta love that right? All right, let's get out of here just for one second. Let's move on to another option. Say I have this video here that I want to share so I can click on this here. It's going to give me a bunch of options just a second that I can share it on Facebook, Pinterest, whatever and you know what else I really like because I'm a member. If I want to turn off the pro show branding and I don't want it to have a pro show logo on it, I could turn it off. And if I want to make it custom, yes, what I can do, I can upload the Will Crockett hybrid photographer logo. Sorry, it's gonna take a little while Fat pop up, but it says OK, no problem. Will email me when it's complete. When you wanna change the unbranded the logo. Put the logo up there. I mean, boy, that's really nice, guys, let's let's let's you know, let's let's give him given their props when they deserve it And right there, that's a company that deserves it. So first class stuff. Now let's say you didn't like that you wanted to a quick remix. Oh, you sure you want to remix this show because it's all done and it's been downloaded and it's been shared. You sure you want to? If you do, go ahead. If you hit remix that allows you to tear it apart, change everything else, get it done. So pro show web. Yea. Next question, sir. When you finish sort of rendering that whole movie there and you get a link, you're sharing it. Now, when you go to remix it, hold on to that same your l or link that it's created any edits that you're making its now sort of recreating that whole video. But keeping the same you are all it does keep the senior all That's right. It does keep the same you're else. So if you if you're sharing it instead of downloading it and giving it to someone, right, if you're just sharing it, you're exactly right. Updates. Yeah, You know what? I'm gonna tell them that they need to change that from remix toe Update because that word would work better for that, wouldn't it? There it is. Well, actually, they're probably watching. So, Amanda, if you're watching, please do me a favor and take that. Take a look at that. Okay? Now, here's what we've already talked about. This is my card, not pro. Did get some questions over the break about my involvement to my e card, not pro. And I do believe in complete transparency with everything that we do here. I do own a piece and I do contribute to my car dot pro in multiple ways. And I'll tell you exactly how I do it when you go to different websites that are that are part of our group, right? The little Crockett group that we've got a bunch of different companies that love what we do, and they want to help us every way that we can. For instance, I had a color checker chart here not too long ago. That's the Mac group, and that's the same folks that make the me photo tripods. Right? When I called them up and I said, Hey, I'm going to do, ah, program on Creativelive said. I need a bunch of tripods. Would you mind sending some over? And they go? Of course. Will. How many? Which ones would you like? Right. It's never all. Let me go check. Let's see. You got budget to pay for ups. Never go. What else do you need? So I need this in this missive. Sure. No problem. And we'll send it over there. How fast you need it there, Right? You gotta love that. Well, a lot of those companies air connected, right? We're now getting some new ones that are connected in there. The folks of pro mark brands and pro mark brands of the ones that own quantum now, which, of course, I've been heavily associated with forever. They bought Quantum. Yeah, they're Assoc. They own cool luxe brands. Now they don't own the light. Smarter, right? That's a different story. But, ah, you will find videos of Mr Crockett on different places like, for instance, on my E template. Don't know nobody panic these air Totally fine. My e template dot pro. I think it's still 90 temple dot pro and may have been changed. Let's see if it still goes there. There you go. And guess what? There's a big video there of Oh, it's Jasmine Used to be a guy named Will Crockett, but now it's jasmine mash ins. Yeah, she's lots prettier than me anyway, So thanks for new Jasmine. I know you're watching. Thanks for doing such a great job on that. Okay, Now let's talk about some other editors. Now, there are some editors that are available that are ones that I don't use, but I have to tell you about him because they're pretty darn good. Better than you would ever imagine that they are ready. YouTube. Did you know that YouTube has an excellent editor? Now, when you're logged into your YouTube account, which I am here, I'm logged into hybrid photo dot pros YouTube account. It pulls up the last bit of videos that have been uploaded here, Right. And it also says, All right, And by the way to get at this, you go to youtube dot com slash editor and it brings up this page. First you log in their YouTube account, then you go to you to do that job con slash editor. All right, then you take a here. Let me just get rid of this here. I think you just get rid of that. Maybe not. Should be. There we go. Let's say I take one of uh oh. Here's a picture of a monkey that took a picture of in a zoo not too long ago. There you go. Got a picture right there. This little guy. Now let's say I want to edit that to a picture of his hybrid here. Oh, yeah. Okay. Now, here's one thing I'm gonna actually bones posits a second here. I'm going to zoom in on this A little bit more. Let me zoom in on it over this way. Okay. Look at what we got looking. We've got got the ability to change the times here. The start time bones to the end time. Wow. Those are nice. Say, you want tea into the Samsung phones working this milk repairs on the larger side, the overnight industry, and click on this one. And let's make this a little bit smaller. Nice. And, you know, we can actually change the transitions that are between those two things. Better than that we can actually let's disable that. We can change brightness contrast to use auto fix if you want to, but I'm not too sure about that. Watch this. Look. You can use slo mo se. You want to slow it down four times. Watch. I'll move it up a little bit. It really does. It'll slow things down. E. I have a boat to take over the World Bank. Paul is dead, Polish dead. It's got a pen and zoom. It's got some stabilize. Okay. It's got a bunch of features on their what? I like a bottle. By the way, here's the filters is a bunch of different filters, etc. They shot better in color than they do in black goers to the Samsung phones. I'm using the note. Sorry to the peace over here. Yeah, this thing is really pretty slow. So I've got the ability to add some text. If I want Teoh, I choose whatever typeface I want. And then I put the text in here. Hello, Apple I thirds, too. And then whatever height I want to put in there, and it will put it in exactly where I want to do the Samsung. James, I'm using good stuff. I have a question that kind of goes back to some of the things we're doing earlier today. And that was when we were shooting these two fine fellows on their E cards. And I'm wondering if you can talk a little bit about not the technical side, but the the interaction side, the connection side. What are we had a question and let me see if we can find who it was from. But what are some of it was a c. M 83. What are some of the simple questions that we should be asking when we're making an e card. Do you have, like, a list of questions that you come to our that when you're interacting with their clients to get them to where you want them to be? But those are the best questions ever because I think that I have just a natural ability to connect to some people. And what kind of weird is that? If you ever get a chance to go through an airport with me, if there's ever a dog or a baby, for whatever reason, there's a gazillion people that air there. They always look over and they make on contact with me. I have no idea why. I just I think I was a dog in a previous life to begin with because I'm very dog like right? Well, we found so many different ways that we can make people comfortable in front of that camera. And one of the reasons that we get people that say that's the Ekkehard Pro, for instance is really cool. But they can't close the sale or they don't want to close. The sale is that they're really afraid that they're gonna freeze when they get on TV, right when they get in front of a camera that they're really nervous. That's really odd for me because, say, your sales person you're on all the time. You're you're making sales presentations. People are looking at how you eat a sandwich. They're going to decide whether or not if you're going to be able to sell their cell A card, seldom a car by how you eat a bowl of soup. So why would you not want to be able to make the opportunity to hop on that e card and then make it happen? Well, ah, couple of things that we do to calm people down is that of course, we asked them if they've written down what they've said. Usually they say no, right, because we asked them to write it down. Is it at least right down the first few pieces? You don't have to write the whole thing. I don't script whole thing out because that's the other thing that we ask him not to do. We say whatever you do, don't script your e card because then they're gonna come in and they're gonna want to either have a teleprompter or they're gonna wanna have notes all right. As soon as they say that, we tell them. Look, just really just don't do it. Trust me. Don't do it. All right? The next thing that I do is what I'll try to do is I'll try to mimic what they're gonna say. Let's say they're they're gonna say we're getting you're getting your pitch again there, too. But but do it in an awkward way because you're really good at what you do. Do it in an awkward way. Just give me your just Hi, I'm I am Chris. And I help, uh, businesses with their graphics looking good. There you go. That that's a That's a typical graphic arts person that comes in that the boss said, You got to get an e card me, and he's not quite sure. And it is not. It doesn't feel like you want to be in front of a camera and he's got to come back in there and I said, Okay, Chris. OK, man, we want to spice that up a little bit. Okay, so here's what we want to do. We want to make sure that we want to be a little smiling and we'll say try it again, right? So then he tries again and say he's still not into it. Right? Then I'll say. Okay, Chris, hold on just a second, man and stand up here, Let me try. And then what I'll do is you don't have to send. So what we'll do is I'll move over and I'll sit in into his spot, right, and I'll tell him I said, You go sit in in my car, go sit in my chair and right in front of my camera So he'll be looking inside the camera and I'll pop right in there and I'll and I'll do it. I'll built like him. I go, Hi, I'm Chris and I'm from Rocketman Creative and I wanna be your graphic designer. They go. Holy cow! How did you just do that? I go a little. Come on, I want you to do that, do it to then you know what I asked him to do? I said, Do your impression of me and that's usually what it takes. They'll go back on over there to cool. Sometimes they'll be goofy, the Gohar, right, because I mean right, but it gets them enough courage and confidence to be able to try and pop it out. Also to You'll notice one of things that I do when were coaching people. And that's what it is that's coaching people when we want to coach people in order to be able to get them to say what they're going to say is we break up the E card into those different spots, right? The first piece of video of the E card Pro is high, My nine. My name is so and so such and such. Sometimes we'll have them put their titling, particularly their medical professionals. They like to put their title in right away, right? And then that's all they have to remember, because we can teach anybody to memorize easily one sentence or two sentence, particularly when it's their name right Then we make sure we break out of that. Then it has whatever piece of video and we go back Then, it says. I specialize in Children's paediatrics and whatever, whatever and do this and whatever, and I do what it's whatever and then that's it. They're up Well, that just means they only have to memorize four sentences because I'm going to split it up over two spots, and they could get that without a problem. We put the graphics between them. We put the graphics in the front, in the back. It's now seconds long. Makes them look like a champ. They didn't have to do anything they feel much better about. It's better than to go on a trip, going to get to the dentist, right?
