we get to hang out with us together. 23 of us. Plus, we got a crew, a Brazilian people back here that have put all this stuff together. We got a ton of stuff we're going to go through. But today what I want you to do is they want you to suspend your belief in photography for just a short amount of time. I want you to forget the fact that there are certain tools that you use every day. And those are the only tools that you can use to produce. Whatever. Let's say that we're professional photographers, right? You are a professional photographer. Correct. All right. You generate a dollar with a camera, right? Yes. Yeah. A year. A professional photographer, right? Amateur. You generate or want to generate a dollar with a camera, right? I say the difference between a professional photographer and a non professional photographer is intent. They're intense. To be able to pick up any sort of photo tool and turn it into a way to generate a dollar, it doesn't matter what that tool is. So what I'm...

doing is I'm asking you to just to suspend what you think those tools are. What does a $6000 camera do better than a $1400 camera? Well, there are some things that it does do lots better, but there are some things that it does the same. Let's experiment with what we conduce with cameras. If we use that simple phrase called What if right, What if, what if we're able to move into the future a little bit? And what if somewhere around the road, we're gonna be selling hybrid photography? And, of course, what is hybrid photography? Hybrid photography for anybody who's interested in photography at any level is going to be a blend of photo plus video plus audio plus graphics, plus anything else that you can fit inside a screen, and that's what we want to do. So what if we were able to play with a section where we're all headed to the same spot? And what if Wall portrait, for instance, right, we shoot a lot of Wild Portrait's at Chicago portrait dot pro? What if we end up having a beautiful wall portrait? That is something that's we look at every day, and it's a beautiful wife and your Children and what if you did a gesture or a movement when you walked past that on your wall and then all of a sudden, how much more impact does that have been? Just a still photograph, because now you've seen them move. You've seen those body gestures, you've heard them. Now you're remembering. I would say that it's 20 years past and these kids are all grown up and, you know, would doing whatever they're doing. You still have that portrait that is hybrid photography. Their little reason that photographs need to be still in the future. We're gonna have everything else that we need, everything that we need to make that happen. Let's continue on What if? What if we took it one more step further? And what if you could hear your kid's voice at age eight, when he's 28 years old, right? My son, Ryan Crockett. He's blast. He's big size guy like me. He's 20 years old. He's a very bright guy. He's on his way to business school. He's going to do really well. Once upon a time, he was in a baseball uniform, and he hated his baseball uniform. He loved baseball, but he hated his baseball uniform because it made him look kind of dumpy and small. And the pants were too small. And he's afraid he was gonna hit up, hit the ball. He's gonna run around his pants are gonna fall off, right? Well, I don't have pictures of my son when he was that little, but I did find Luisa little brother and did the same thing to him. What if baseball cards, for instance? Okay, so what if instead of just trading a piece of paper, plastic or a paper baseball card What if you were ableto have that on your phone? And what if you were able to automatically send that? You know, soon we're gonna have some beautiful new gestures, and we're gonna be able to say, OK, will I need I'm ready to receive the baseball card that you want to send me. And I'm gonna take three fingers and I'm going to do a three fingered gesture and I'm gonna pointed at your phone, and I'm going to do this, and that talking card is now going to be on your phone and you're gonna be able to keep it all that's coming. In fact, all that's already here. We just have to go find it. Let's explore. What if a little bit further? What if you had an extremely handsome customer? I mean, beyond right. And what if that person had a business and they wanted to expand that business? And what if they wanted their business card to speak for you? Why do I want a hand? You a business card? Why don't why? Don't want to give you a piece of paper or plastic business card that only has a few pieces of data on it. You either have to scan or photograph or hand to put that into your particular device that holds. Oh, well, forget about it. I want to be able to meet you, and I want you to know what I do for a living, and maybe you'll be able to hire me. Our most popular E product that we sell in hybrid photography is all about products is e card pro. I Will Crockett, commercial hybrid photographer and photo technology developer. My company shoots photo and video and audio for new media, marketing and advertising Solutions. Way also helped develop some of the products that you see every day in the changing world of hybrid photography. Now, when I show you this a little bit later in the program, you're going to notice that there's one more element that you need to see. And that is the connective ity that we have is, well, we're going to be able soon, in fact, to be able to connect ourselves through our medium to our audience. And here's what I mean. If you're able to have, say, a business card like that that pops up and it's going toe, have some little cliques at the end of its little buttons that you can click to, say, Click here to call. Well, Crockett, click here to visit. Will Crockett's website click here to add these contexts Toe Will Crockett on my contact holder? That's a big deal. These solutions. Come on, Lee, from what if we have to explore? What if we have to be able to find out where this is headed and I want to be able to create these products, but I want to do them profitably? Folks, I don't want this to be any sort of long term hobby. I don't want to have to go to class to learn how hybrid are. Sorry, how Final Cut Pro Works. I know this wonderful network here teaches all kinds of great classes, but I don't want to go take a class on premier. I don't want to go take a class on other editing solutions. I know them. Unfortunately, I've had to learn a whole bunch of them to figure out. But what if there's a better way? What if there is a way to automate the process? Once upon a time when you think about it? We used to be ableto have film in roles, and then we would be able to process those roles. And then all of a sudden, there were companies that came around that said, Hey, guess what? Photographers Photography is popular if I'm talking color photography, too, is popular enough that we have the ability to send these rolls out to some place to get a maid. While who is that? We're now seeing the emergence in hybrid photography of companies popping up to say, Wait a second. We could do some of this for you, and that's where we want to go. Let's talk a little bit more about he's will crooked. He's a talented photographer. That photo equipment makers asked to help them. When they develop new products, he actually gets paid to shoot cameras before they come out. Lucky Dog sponsors over 45 brands think Will's educational content is some of the best there is. He's even worked on photo projects with the Pentagon. Has quite a resume, but you never hear him speak about it. That's the guy he is. Some people think he's nuts because he says, DSLR, zehr, dead ducks, fearless cameras air going to replace everything and thank goodness they're smaller, lighter, easier toe. Learn faster to shoot projects with And there are a heck of a lot more fun. Learn hybrid photography with the group that invented all this stuff. That's right. My group and I come on along with us. It's trouble I got into I. D. Is a larger dead ducks. OK, Ionia Sellers, I shoot DSLR. I love DSLR DSLR zehr still here and they're viable tools. Can we shoot hybrid photography with DSLR? So of course we can, but you won't see me shooting with them today. You're going to see me shoot with tools today that are made for hybrid photography. That's right. When we take a look at things like muralists cameras, we learned really quick that mere lis cameras have a couple of really unusual features and functions to them Here, in fact, I'll pick an older one. Do you know most mere Elice cameras, for instance, like this one here, which is a loom ICS G H two. This is not the current model. This is an older model. This is actually has started its life as a video camera, and then they added photo functions on top of it. So the things that it does, the way it auto focus is the way it processes. Audio, for instance, is really based upon video. And when we talk about hybrid photography we're talking about, well, we're talking about making e products, which means we're talking about sight and sound. Here's how it all fits together. It gets a little confusing. First, we've got to understand that hybrid photography is shooting photo and video and audio doesn't matter what camera you use. You can use an IPhone, I guess if you wanted to, then you need to be able to build your photo skills upon hybrid photography. So you're gonna need to learn a different way of lighting. You're gonna have to learn continuous lighting. You're gonna have to learn a little body, but about microphones, because you're gonna have to record audio. Then you're gonna have to be able to take those images, and you're gonna have to edit them together somehow. How do you put together a photo and a video and audio and graphics and music and all that other stuff and put it together into into something that somebody wants to buy That doesn't cost you a fortune to create? Well, here's where Crockett comes in, right? Part of my job is as a photographer. Do you know the other part of my job is as well Consultant, right? What the heck does that mean? My biggest consulting clients, in fact, is the United States military and we get to work with them on a variety of projects, including how we're going to make talking Portrait's sure portrait's need to talk. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna work on an E product. We're gonna work on how we're going to make that first talking portrait. So what? I want to do is I want to move over to the other set here. And if you don't mind, uh, can I make your picture first? Okay. Please. Would you mind? Okay, Louis, can you fire up that set back over that way? Do you mind if I move over that way? All right. I'm a scoot over that way. Didn't screw us up. No. Okay, let's sneak on over that way. Come on. This way, we're gonna move this way. And remember the light that Louis saw that Louis showed you wouldn't sit right there if you would. Please, my friend. We've moved it over this way. Yeah. We moved it over this way, and I position it in the way that I typically work in. Now you're gonna see that I'm a spin this around here a little bit. There we go. Here's my main light to select that I'm gonna work with. Yep. Same thing that you just saw. We'll go into detail more about equipment for you when you're ready. Right. All right. And on the camera here, we're gonna have Ah, mixer. I'm gonna go over some of more of these parts here a little bit, but I want to be able to show you the bear assets, the bare essence of hybrid photography. And that is the talking portrait. So we want to be able to create a piece of video as well as a piece of photo that could be easily made to talk. Right, Because we're going to do first thing I wanna do, sir, is scooped you up. So years close to the table is humanly possible. And I'm gonna set up this camera so that I'm gonna work in black and white today, if you don't mind. Alrighty. I'm also gonna set my camera so that I'm gonna work in what we can. I format this card right ahead, sir, You've got and I'm gonna format my card. I'm big into formatting my cards. I'm going to set this to shoot in square format, and I'm gonna come back, and I'm gonna talk about that a little bit later. I'm gonna tell you why. Sometimes I like to shoot and square aspecto actually can't because we're plugged into HTM I So I'm gonna work in a basic 16 by nine aspect ratio. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna cut off that background just a little bit back there. So when you get a chance to see me in action, you'll also notice a lot of times they use these big black cutter cards. What those do is those Knock off light from the background back? There we are. Then you'll notice, too. Underneath. I've got a little bit of a microphone here. Okay, so here's where we go. All right, sir. Okay. First thing, I'm going to do a test shot, and I'm gonna shoot just a still photograph. Here we go. He looking terrific. And I'm shooting wide open here. We'll talk about the specs a little bit later. I'm also gonna put on a pair of headphones so that I could hear you talk when we took when we talk in there. And so can you give me some test bar? Say hi. My name is Lorenzo. Thank you so much. That's all I needed. And I want you to be as comfortable as you possibly can be, right? You're gonna say hi. My name is Lorenzo, and I am a photographer, and I'm extremely glad to be here today at Creativelive. And I'm going to give you a countdown. Okay, I'm gonna go 321 And then when I point at you, that's when you're gonna look right in the camera, and you're gonna give it your best. All right, First of all, I got to see a smile. There we go. And we're gonna have 321 Hi. My name is Lorenzo, and I am very happy to be here on creative life. We got official smile waiting. Go. Nice job, buddy. Excellent. OK.
