12 Pre-Show

Well, hello, Internet. And welcome to Creativelive. My name is Drew Councilman, and I'll be the host for today's course. We're gonna be talking about year today and the course is called Gear Guide with Chris Fano. I'm super excited about this course today. And what we're gonna dio right now for about 10 minutes is pre show. We're gonna make sure that the microphones in the studio here and the cameras are working well so that you can see and hear everything that you need to see in here. There's a bunch of exciting stuff going on a creative live. We have courses coming up throughout the rest of this month. And there's always rebroadcast, Of course, is to see if this is your first time two needed to creativelive. You can always be learning. And that's why I'm so excited about specifically this course. We're gonna be talking about gear today and I have right next to me in the studio today a really cool guy. His name's Chris, and we're gonna be talking about gear today, so I just want Teoh ...

welcome you to creative Ally. Thanks for being here. Thanks really cool. Might be an overstatement. but, um eso eso site that I run is Gary Ott Sat net, which is the A music instrument and musician and recording another. So another such your site for musicians specifically in the heavy music community, that's all. How long have you been doing that for? I've been running the site since its inception, which was the fall of last year. Okay, The site was started by the guys behind metal stocks and metal injection, which are two of the more popular sites on the metal community. You know, Middle Sucks is a little more of on the journalism, and and then metal injections more on, you know, the video end. Although they both dabble in both totally. Um, and you know what they found Was there some really great instrument sites? And there are some really good metal focus instrument sites, even that focus towards musicians in for specific instruments. But there wasn't really a site that was all inclusive. Teoh, You know, the entire community of musicians in the community of heavy music, not just metal, but hard core and other extreme stuff. So that's what we try to do is focus on you know, that crowd awesome. So it's sort of like the umbrella. That's the goal. Yeah, way try to be, you know, like the whole of having music spectrum and also for, you know, not just guitarist basis. And drummers even. But vocalists, keyboard players, you know, ho something from or cable news since news on Ben, you know, recording live sound. You know, friends and light shows, and whatever you got, that's awesome. So if you're if you were watching right now, jump over to its gear. God's satin, right, Yes, we'll be checking that out. So if I'm a singer, if I'm a vocalist, it's always hard. Teoh and I am not in the metal genre. But it's always hard to find good content articles about, like, building vocal stuff. So is it Are you reviewing like microphones all the way from that toe, like vocal techniques and things like that? I mean, that's and that's actually you know, site is still growing expanding, you know, that's that's something we're looking to focus on more in the future because, you know, as a start site that's starting out, you know, we're you know, we're still developing relationships and, you know, figuring everything out And yeah, like, you know, as we're starting Teoh, talk to bands and we've been doing like Rick rundowns on guitar and bass have been searching out. Okay, let's do some more rundown on drums stuff. And I would love to talk to more singers. And I'm always like talking Advance down saying like, Hey, you know, if you've got, like, a cool set up for a vocal Mike, I mean, yes, some singers just use whatever 57 is in the house, but it is disgusting, by the way, a club I I've done vocals it in bands, and I always always bring a 58 because I don't know what life's all right. Just a wipe it down. Even your own 58 can get really disgusting. I actually just replace the the windscreen on my 58 because it was I looked out of one day. Oh, my gosh, Most of that was me, but I But I'm always actually start like since I've been running the site. Now I've always been trying to keep an eye out for Oh, this man's got there doing something cool with the vocals. You know, he's like he's using a looper pedal or, you know, she's got, like, you know, like some distortion rig or whatever, which, which, admittedly, is less common our live show. But, you know, if you know of ah, good band that's got a rig like that, you know? And by you, I mean the Internet, you know, like Senator Link or something too excited. Have to check it out. That's awesome. That's very cool. So we're gonna be talking about here today? Yes, all across the spectrum, right? Sort of like the website your website is. We're gonna be talking about Qatar gear pedals, guitar bass, Strom, stuff of recording stuff, programming stuff, APS, some microphones. So cool. That's so cool. Well, if you're just ah, if you're just tuning in, this is our pre show. We're just checking the mikes. And, uh, I'm sitting right next to Chris here. We're gonna be talking about year all day today, and the beauty of of this course is really that you get an inside look with industry professionals at the gear because if you're a working musician, you can't afford to buy all the gear. So you got to be you've got to be picky and really smart about what you choose. Toe. Invest your time and your resource is in. So that's partially what this courses is. Four. And if you're a working musician, it's It's perfect for you. So, uh, we have a couple minutes left in our in our pre show if you're just tuning in, Uh, this is Gear Guide with Chris Alfonso, and we have some other exciting courses coming up on the music and audio channel. Here we have mastering metal song writing with Ale Levy. He's been an instructor here in the past that creative live, and we're excited to have him back talking about how to craft your next big hit song, which is super exciting cause I'm a songwriter myself and just really excited to have him back in the house here. In addition to that, we have music business course with Steve Rennie. He's a really talented and successful guy in the music business world, So if you're looking to take your band or your project or your studio to the next level, that's going to be really great. Course is, uh, well
