Branding and Products

So we're going to talk about delivery. And the first thing that we're going to talk about are the products. And right now, I'm just gonna ask you guys, what are your products that you give to your clients tangible products that you give to your clients? Just go ahead. DVDs. David. He's just David is right. Anyone else? Well, for films, we do DVDs, blue Ray USB sticks and then online delivery and then, for for the photography side to do wedding albums, parent albums, enlargements, canvases. And you can keep going right foot Are you got this? You've got that you've got. I mean, I have IPhone cases. I've got so much stuff, you know, And for photography, this product line that you can possibly have it's like endless cause. Visual imagery can go pretty much anywhere. I mean, mouse pads and aprons, whatever Grandma wants, right? You know, for photography you could do that. But there seems to be a little bit of a limitation when it comes to the products that you can give your clients for your...

film. So DVDs blue ray flash drives. It tends to be the you know that's here. That's your end point there. So we're gonna talk about products in general. In general. When your clients open the box, what did they see? Do you guys hand them the DVDs, or do you mail them nail the cool? So when your clients open that box, what did they say? What's in there? DVD case. Nice DVD case. And then they open and they see the discs, like maybe a standard definite blue right side by side. Okay. There. Yeah. Do you guys do any sort of packaging branding, packaging? I mean, I don't do branding packaging, but I've been just packaging it like wrapping it. Kind of like a president. Like Like that? Yes. When you deliver something to your clients, you want it to look like a present. That's exactly what I think. You want them to be excited when they see it? Think they know what's inside, right? I mean, even if you're doing where you know, you send it to them early and you don't tell them that's the thing. They know what's inside. So make it more interesting. Make it like a present When it comes to branding in general and all of the products that you deliver, you want there to be a cohesiveness to It needs to scream. You know, Rob Adam's films. It needs to scream. The document ist It needs to really look great. And it doesn't have to be expensive. One of the really great things that rob does you can tissue wrapped, you could do whatever you want. He just says It's a debate, a little sticker that has logo on it and that that's what seals it and that's it. Black River Imaging has stickers. They're awesome, not use them all the time. So, Vanessa, so with So I have, ah, Swiss designer. That's really into, like, some crazy book art paper sort of stuff, and it's really it's really it's kind of different What? But it doesn't scream. The document is it'll. But you're saying that I could still keep that because all different, because it's handmade in like hand died and that sort of stuff and then I could just have that and document is and doesn't stick your sticker on it at the document is that's right. All right, So what happens is that consistent design creates a consistent brand image, and then eventually, when you have a consistent brand image, and you've got brides looking through magazines and they see maybe not your film, but they see your logo and they see your brand. It becomes something that's recognizable to them, so think about it. It's kind of comes full circle. You have your whole brand. Your your client gets the DVD. Your friend is there. They see the DVD, they see the packaging, even if after they opened it, you know that cohesive design with your style on it. They recognize that when they get married later and they're looking for somebody, then they recognize you. And that recognition builds trust, even though they may not even have seen your film. So just something to consider their one of the things that Robin I do is we create matching cases, menus and movie posters. So if you just look at the movie poster that's behind me here, um, it goes along with this matching DVD case. Thes are fake names, by the way, so you'll notice that the names on the DVD case are different than the names on the top There on the movie poster were just tryingto protect their clients a little bit, but it matches perfectly with the DVD cases, and then when you open it, he got the matching disk and matching on the other side. Now these are my photography images. However, you know, you, you could totally grab a still from your from your footage that looks like this. It's This is tiny. This is small. You can print small stuff you don't confront movie poster? Probably. Um, not yet. The resolution is getting better, but maybe you might even be able to get away printing something like that or it's for smaller images in the movie poster. So part of that brand cohesiveness we have these matching templates for the movie posters, the cases and the DVDs, And I'm going to show you just how easy it is to make those okay, So what we give them, we give them either blue right or standard DVDs. We just ask, because nine times out of 10 they don't want the blueberry because they don't have a blueberry player. Everyone used to have the PlayStation twos. Is there blueberry players, but they all start burning out after a while and don't replaces, um, and don't have blurry. So what is how we just end up delivering them. This the SD DVDs we love doing the flash dress. The flash drives air really, really great. When we meet with clients, we tell them all the time that we think devotees, they're on their way out. You know, they're not the best quality, even the blue right or, you know, HD DVDs. I'm not going to compare to giving them that master file on a flash drive. And now with TVs, they just plug this USB flash driver into their TV. Imply it or, you know, I think some TV's they were even having like, internal memory when they can save it. So we like to give them that master files again. Randi Flash Drive. I know this probably questions about this. Rob gets his flash drives from Mexico on dot com. Um, they're fantastic. Also, photo Flash drive has really great ones as well. They're a little bit more kind of rustic looking, and they have these little boxes. They come in and you can really go crazy with all that. But I want to encourage you guys toe always look for more for your products. The products that you have great keeping Branden. Keep them consistent. But always look for more ipads smartphones. Like you said, you give him a mobile version. Think about that. Always give them a mobile version that they can easily load onto their their IPhones and their ipads. Um, technology is evolving. There's always something new, right, Like the evolution album. Now, you guys, you could make an album like this as video first. Now you're not going to make this manage in here. There's, like, big thick thing. This is definitely the photographer. The stop. But you could easily make a small album that only has a couple of pages in it. And, you know, maybe your first aid is, you know, a funky design. And then you get to this and you don't have to have the whole spread here as a picture, because that probably won't print very well. But you could easily do a collage of on that could have been here like this, right? You could grab stills and make a small, small things like this. So if you want to do something like this, that's definitely an option for you. And you can sell these for a pretty Penny. You know, if you I would say maybe around for a small album. $500. $100 for your purchase price. You could probably sell. These school stood $1,502,000 you know? So this isn't excellent. Excellent products. So always be on the lookout for stuff like that. I have just quick screen grabs for you. So you kind of see the whole thing because I'm not gonna create many is for you guys here. Everyone has their own way of creating menus, but we do have templates, and these tablets are actually available in our store. We sell in this complete PACs, and they're great. So what I'm going to do for you guys? It's from our pictures from yesterday's create these movie posters and the cases for you. You can see how easy it is. So I'm just going to get out of here. We'll minimize. All right. So the first program I'm going to use this is photo mechanic and I use this last time we were here. Have you guys use auto mechanic before? If you are also photographers, you're gonna love me forever. For introducing this to you photo mechanic is one of the easiest ways to sort and rename your images without having to wait for them to load in like room or whom cut for been bridge. You know, it's super super fast. So I've got my wedding pictures here and I'll have to do is click and drag it over. And, you know, let's do this week's I think some of the capabilities on here limited so we don't mess up creative lives computers. So you can see we'll do it right here. So do you just normally click and drag it over, and then all the pictures air right here? You can make them bigger or smaller. The thumbnails if you want to zoom them in a little bit more or make them smaller, what I like to do I usually set up three like this. I feel like it just gives me a good view of everything. And I've already cold These, by the way, Um so no worries, but that you can also press space barn zooms it in. You can make this more full screen so you can really see it close and go through every individual one. But all you do is you Organ and color coding these. So you either press the number one. If you want pink to with red suits, you better three If you like orange, whatever. I just go with one and then all the ones that I want to use. And if you want to put it back to no color, you press zero. So I just go through and all the ones that I want to use. I just press one. So let's pick a couple images for movie poster. What I did last night, I should also also mentioned I did edit these cause you know, this is not a photo class. Didn't want to teach you editing, But I use the program called Action Runner and what that is. I just called my pictures out and this program called Action Runner. You click and drag the photos over to whatever action you want to use. And then he hit run, and it puts the action on the photos going running through Photoshopped. What's cool about this is you can do that too, as many as many times as you want and then hit runs. So what I did and if I zoom some nails out is you can kind of see that I've got three different types of Ed. It's all the same pictures. So I've got all my black and whites. This is all like a faded, muted color and then on the bottom is just, you know, regular regular process. So all I did was clicking drag a total of three times because I drive all the images onto three different actions and the press run. And they just did that for me. And I went to bed earlier than Rob because of that. So let's go ahead. I think for the movie poster, I would like to go with the color images, even though I do the back lights. So let's just go ahead and pick. We're going to do this one so we'll just pick four pictures that we want. And I'm really bad at narrowing down pictures, so this is gonna take, like, one or two go throughs, which is good example. Sure, you have photo Mechanic works with that, So I adore this picture. I think she was so gorgeous, this one, too, and I always love a little detail of hands, stuff like that this was just a very sweet picture. Detailed both their hands, You can tell. Already passed for super cute details of flowers. I love her. Look at her. Look at her eyes. Can't stand it. Okay, so that was not a good jumper nearing down, never down what colors I like. So what I'm gonna do is down here in the bottom corner of photo mechanic. The the one old way to the right is all the ones that are not marked. So I just click on that and it gets rid of all the ones that are not marked. When I'm left with is the ones that are so now I can never these down to Maybe for you know what? I get to use a little bit more than four because I'm gonna do the cases while on the case, Has three pictures on the back horizontal one. So that's good. So let's go. These I'm just gonna do select all and then we can if you want to. You can rename them by right clicking and they don't let you right. Click here. So there we go file rename that we can rename them, and it's really nice because you can do sequences to so if I just want to do, you know, creative less sequence renaming it renamed Small for me. But for now, I'm going to copy them. It tells me to pick a destination. I'm just gonna put these onto the desktop, and we'll just call it movie poster and case images. Your copies. So apparently there's an error. So what I can do, actually is since I renamed them, I'll be able to look at them pretty clearly here. So go to sort name and all my seal ones are on the bottom here. All right, so let's do the movie poster first. Have a few different options for the movie poster. Just thought you'd like to see a finished version on the screen there. And then this is what the temple it looks like. It's pretty simple. Um, this is another one. I look a black one image. Maybe we'll pull that in in the template, and this is one will just use real quick double click that will open it in photo shop and customizing. These is really very simple. If you want the instructions over on the layers tab it is actually instructions. But I'm gonna hide those. I'll show you how to do them. Um, let's start with e text. It's pretty simple. The top text here. Her name was Rebecca. And you know her last name since they're married is the same. But we'll go with Smith right now. Well, just center that over and let's go to his name, which is dirt, and we'll center that. All right. I could go down here and change all these things if I wanted to. I'm not going to go into that. Let's go into the images, Teoh, To do these, all you have to do is double click on the layer. That's going to bring up a file that has the drop zone in it. Just go to file place. Gonna navigate to my wedding pictures. Well, the seal ones. Let's get some thumbnails here so I can see that was the top issues. That one. And then all I need to do is with my free transform holding shift here. Just size it in, Okay? And then I'm just going to save it. So command s save. I can close this and you can see it put it right there, and that's it. And I just go through the rest of them. I'll place we'll be ago. Let's do one of her by herself, because I really I think she's gorgeous, all right? It would have any questions. While I'm just kind of throwing these in here isn't executing closing. So any questions over there? The question from Bobo in Bulgaria. What size are those? J pegs? I didn't think there's a little bit small because I was copying them back and forth, but they're they're large. They're from raw files so that their large size J pegs. But then I read them down about five steps, So okay, yeah, they're a little bit smaller at the moment. Any questions for anyone? What's I should baby? Um Well, you know, big enough to print on the movie poster, uh, scrabbling diesel hand ones. We had a quick question about your, um, files I get. They give out that asked what type of file is on the master drive or? No, I don't think something user I wouldn't ask. They wanted to know. I missed the question. What size is the format that they get it in? It's like think is at 7 20 Year 10. 80. Oh, okay. There these air J Peg Cesaire Not blind that back for this one was for back from when you were talking about delivering things on the flashed are like, what, 10 80 10 80? Yes. Yep. I'm sorry, actually, yeah. I always want to give it to them in the highest. Uh, you know, the highest possible resolution that we can do. That's one for the last one. I really love this one. And I just want to read on air because a couple of people were asking and maybe missed it. Where can you tell us again? Where the album Miss from evolution albums. Great, I believe just dot com. But if not, you conclude and cook Esquire. Underscore wrote in all caps. Was there a video screen in that book? Oh, yes. What's cool about this one too? It's a video screen in the middle here, so it keeps going even after that. Is there a reason that you are using front of shop versus in design? Some people are asking, um, it's easier, and I like it better. Yeah, Preference. Lots of ways to do you have anything. Yeah, that's pretty much it. You know, you use what you like, use what works for you. That's totally fine. All right. So I could go into changing the colors here if I wanted Teoh and go on with that. But I'm not going to do that now, but I am going to show you is down here in the credits. Um, I always think this is fun. You can put all these little movie style credits here, and, um, I'm just doing that at a little area. That's good. All right. And then we can just change these up here. So this is a font that you can, uh, get for free. It's called Universal Accreditation. So you would put like your studio name here so we'll just do Rob Adam's films and you put the bride and groom's last name. So what was their last name is Smith Morton's in production called The Wedding Day. You just you know, you go on through here and you feel the same. The bridal party names on this line. I don't know the bridal parties names, so I'm just gonna put in all of my assistants names in here and they're all gonna start freaking out when I'm typing all their names here. So it's just it's really cute. And brides love this stuff. You know? The movie poster is such a great way. Teoh. His real name's not Axl Rose, but we are going there. It is, actually just, you know, No, the axle rose. So this is a really great way Thio Thio, Sell them something else. You know, it's we sell our movie posters on metal for about 7 50 Rob and I do use the, um, sort of incentive as if you book the both of us together because we are separate companies. If you book both of us, you know we'll throw in the movie poster for you on just a regular, you know, photographic print, and then the LA times end up upgrading. So, yeah, that's pretty much it go through the rest of these and put all their names in here. Any questions while I just finish this one up? I'm not okay. I'm putting down the microphone. No more questions quickly. How is it if you like Jack up the fund? Like if you're not, that you don't want exactly like You know, you don't want to quite be Vanessa Joy or Rob Adams. And you know, just completely bite your style, and you want oh, even change the fonts and go for it. You OK? But you know your photo shop so you can really play with and do whatever you like. So I'm going with this. I'm just going to see this out. It will save it as a J pay. Vanessa. Yeah, We have a question of which DVD off the right authoring software. Are you using? I believe Rob Muses Encore! Encore! I believe he is going to get into that before. All right, so that's it. And there is our I'm not gonna say over my PST. Then we just have our RJ pick here, and I can send this out, Teoh, you know, to blocker emerging. And that's a great way to do that. If we go from there, we go into the matching DVD case. We don't have blue right and DVD. Just gonna pull the DVD one exact same thing. You know, there's really nothing much different about it. I'm just, you know, pulling in, pulling in the images, so you know, if I do the back here, I can actually. Is that hand one that I wanted? Teoh. But that's pretty much it as faras making them making them goes. So Rob touched on this earlier, but number Our photo from Seattle is asking for the posters if the client is working with 1/3 party. Still, photographer, do you shoot separate images for the poster license? Do license images for the third party if you're not just pulling them from from your video. Um, meaning if you're not the photographer, right? Yeah. If you're not the photographer. I mean, Rob likes to work with the photographer and ask them for images because they're just better quality images and grabbing. Still, So it's a really great way to start developing a relationship with other photographer. Hey, I want toe use. Your images look so great will be great advertising for you, you know? And if you want to make the movie poster, um, maybe offer the get someone for free, right? He was How great. Is that really going through a formal licensing? Yes. You know, you don't really. I mean, you might want to get something in writing, you know, if you've got some easily aggravated photographers around. Thank you. Yeah. You also have a question as to what size are the posters and what kind of paper they printed on? Yeah. The posters. We print any 24 or 36 and they are printed a regular photo paper from Black River Imaging. Although we prefer to print them on metals, they just they look too good on metals, so All right, so you guys get the idea of this, We got this. I'm not going to design this whole case for you, but you get the concept, it's It's pretty easy. Pretty easy branding and just make quick music cases that look really, really good that your clients are going to love.
