The Day Before

so obviously a day before the wedding batteries charged bags are ready we have everything packed because jody and I like to take the evening before a wedding and have nothing to do we like to relax sit down chill um you know have dinner together and just not be scrambling the night of or the night before so easy in the morning I'm putting formatting all the cf cards cleaning the camera's making sure everything's put together all batteries are charged that morning and then we just have a much more relaxed evening get to bed early and then we can sleep really well yeah we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to shoot winnings and my mom has started to get get back into photography which is funny because my love for it came from her so remember calling me she's like oh my gosh I have a wedding tomorrow she's like I'm so nervous does this ever go away and I was like no no no it doesn't so like we tow help us cope with the wedding maybe always make sure that we're just wanting to really chill...

ed calm ourselves and be relaxed a couple of things that have really helped us too obviously relaxing eating well stretching in the morning because he noticed that the end of the day and legs were just so tired way also pack snacks and water and usually makes him little bits of food that can stay in the car or whatever all day that are going to go bad because sometimes you don't get a chance to eat your driving from one location the next night's the only time to grab some food or drink so and then staying of course very hydrated and there were always praying together and then having very good attitudes actually great story jodi and I were married if we don't get along all the time usually at a wedding if we're disagreeing about something we're not seeing it from a client that's more like you know nobody's looking there's something like that so johnny and I did something similar to what we did here um I mean in this thing called photo vision where they basically followed us to a real wedding and recorded the entire day and the guy that was filming it on pierce is like a master of photography like he knows everything about the art and I was like he's going to see through every trick we have you know and I'm like I mean I know what I'm doing but we have cameras on this morning of course like when we were here so if we're done before live right now and I turned on my wife and go hey can you stop talking like a blockhead or something like that every year thousands of people just heard that so we realised there listening in on these ear pieces all day and jody night for some reason right before a wedding we always have some tip some argument to get into and then we make up right when we get to the wedding on the car right over something always happens so we're like today we have to be cool we have to be nice region they're listening all day right so then we went we shot the wedding and it was the most stressful wedding probably ever it rained and it all this stuff and they're filming and we want the images to be amazing because they're going up on the screen just like your state of lime you suck you know you just have bad days shooting sometimes or bad clients or bad weather and you're just letting this dressed like that so we had a lot a lot of stress ian amazing winning so at the end of the day we had the most fun with each other that we have things we've ever had a wedding even though it was the most adverse circumstances I realized later on attitude is a choice you choose like just like love love is not something you fall in and out of her you feel if everybody did what they felt everyone is selfish and we would be in a disaster of the world right now but we realize that we need to help our children so we choose to help them even if they're knowing than living daylights you know if your kid annoys you it doesn't give you the right to not love them anymore does it it means you've got to do what's right being adult and do what's right so all that to say that we realized that great attitude and a wedding is a choice we chose to do it that day and ever since then we've gone let's have a great attitude larry and all son you have a great attitude and we love each other more we feel more in love having a great attitude so little side okay so now the day of any questions on that any questions coming in any result marital conflict doing well e can this one just came in from veil fishes photos uh on the day of the wedding do you refer to each other is baby et cetera do you ever kiss in front of clients with the media make out sessions you know like back of the church we do you know we definitely um you know if I need to get jody's attention I always know if I whistle like it gets the attention really quick if he's far away we have our little radios what we do way want toby zack and we want to be professional yes we're also going to be a married couple were not like sitting around like cuddling or anything but we're like posing in front of our clients and we're getting close to each other we're showing them that we don't mind being close and I'll call him like I'll be like a book I mean zach you baby but we'll call each other baber you know stuff like that but then well we'll try to keep it professional the same time I don't know if you really kiss and front like at a wedding I think we're too busy toe make out but I mean we don't remember making lately kiss that's we don't make people that's a tv wait we're definitely ourselves you know we're definitely ourselves laughing any other questions a couple of people pineapple tree wanted to know if you have kids we do not have your cats wait do not have any kids get we've been talking about it a lot lately but we do have two cats starbucks and beans no yes and fun and they're both black cats did you know that black cats or the hardest cats to adopt because of the superstition so if you're looking to adopt a cat adopt a black one and they don't adopt most adoption places won't adopt him during all the weed because people adopt him hurt him way of the two cute this little cats there were these little tiny like black cats are actually kind of undersized super because so q there really cuddly and beans is that one boy I'm a little girl and being is like hilarious and he sticks his head under my arm and I'm petting him and funny thing is I'm allergic to cats oh they're in our creative live promo video you want to see them I'm allergic to him but I put up with him because jodi just loves them and I'm goingto love both of them a lot more so no we don't have kids and I think you know when we do have kids because a lot of people are like well shoot you don't have kids so how'm I supposed to do all of this so we definitely get that those with kids or in a different place than we are and I think that's interesting too is that people people sort of live that mentality based on what everybody else has done or what everybody else said if we do what everybody else did we'd be making an average income and we'd be going out of business probably last year that's what most happens to most photographers so we chose to do something different than what everybody else did so a lot of people are like you know I've been at workshops and we're talking about our process and people go wait you have kids it's all over our you're never gonna be able to do this or whatever you like kids were supposed to be a blessing I thought this isn't gonna I don't want to think that it's going to somehow ruined my life because I want to have kids and if you want to check out go to instagram and follow mike larson he's a photographer husband and wife married to both of them work together and mike just had his first kid the most adorable little chubby chick oh my gosh she said super successful studio one of the most successful for starters on the west coast and he's got pictures of his daughter the two of them shooting a wedding in combo you know she's in like the little backpack there carrying her everywhere she's on the beach he's got this photo she's on the beach with a smile on her face laying in the water and most new parents I'd be going oh my gosh and I remember talking to mike and he said I want to live my life with my daughter with my kids and this is what we love to do and she is gonna love doing it too and he said I got to see her touch sand for the first time and she was six months old this is what I'm talking about you want to go out and be a uh destination photographer and have kids do it you just got a come on you gotta make it happen captain you know or if you want to sit home and stayed home all the time and that's kind of your thing that's cool I said no you know but you can run a successful business with with or without kids for sure ask jeff and julia woods and they have four kids and one of the most profitable studios in the country so moving up we'll be asking all of you there tio I know some of you in the room have kids something you submitted videos with kids throwing up on you so you can say it better than I can keep moving along here so um wedding day a day of marketing what are what is our mentality when we're going into a wedding day for jodi and I it's definitely the experience again harping on the experience the experience first that's the most important thing we can do because we could go in and probably take good pictures and be mean to people at the same time but they're going to look back the bride and groom are going to remember remember how awkward this was and how mean he was being and how back how weird I felt when he was shooting my foot when I was getting ready that's gonna be the memory it's gonna trigger whatever emotion was happening at that time so they'll look back at it it could be a beautiful picture she's crying but she's crying cause of you she's not gonna wanna hang that on her wall when she goes oh you know photo and I was going like this with the blue sky I felt so awkward cause that's not me and my petar never didn't know it so experience first
