Adding Capture Folder To Session
So we are already in Creative life session. We've got a session that has all of these folders that are separate folders that air that are linked from other jobs and other capture of holders, and you'll see that we have a capture folder here. We know it's a capture folder because we've said it's capture folder. So there's two different ways for us to go from here. I'm gonna go first by adding a new capture folder Control. Click the Capture New Capture folder. And that's how we'd added another capture folder at the bad at the bottom called Nino Shooting or Nino Tethered. That's the quick and easy right. That's the quick and easy added it to that one. It's now a separate folder that's in your session. Let's go slowly and show where it is. So if we go to where it is in the finder, right Nino tethered is linked inside of creative life session creativelive session. Need each other? We just created another capture folder in there. That's a simple as it can be. We see the capture logo. So that...
's how I do it right now. Yes, what happens if somebody accidentally delete that folder. How will it show up on the capture? One side. Will it show up with a folder that was there with a question mark that I can't find it anymore? Or if somebody clicks and drags and moves it somewhere? Or is it just go on? It's not gone. It's just not linked anymore. There's a offline. It's not linked anymore to show that it's offline or has some kind of notation. This is the best part of this. Let's do it. Let's do it. Let's do it and breaking How to link it lets That's pregnant. Artist. Break it like OK, OK, so let's go head to it. Control, that's go find it in our finder. All right, there it is. Eso it's here, and if I take it and say Delete, it's no longer there. And now there's a large a Dave. It's no longer there warning. Now that means it's thought it was there. There's a road map to where it was, but it no longer exists there. The software is really smart. It will tell you it will tell you in sudden use these warnings and you just don't think it's wrong. Stop and think What did you do wrong, Right. What? How? Doe. I rethink through it. So it showed me that it's no longer there. I can Then go Nino tethered and say get rid of it and no longer see it as a favorite. It's not there anyway, so I don't want to go to the favorite. It's not existing in there anymore. So that's one way to do what? I'm gonna do it real quick again and make another, you know. Okay, Very importantly. Take a look because I've learned I learned more from accidents. Capture folder has exclamation. Why? There is no capture folder anymore which deleted the capture folder. So we have to either designate one of these is the capture folder or create another one. So new capture folder, right? You know, you know may know better. Really? Plus you you know each other and there you are. So we're ready to connect Untether now the other way. We would do this file, go ahead to make a new session, right? We're going to come in here instead of a blank tape it. We're gonna make a four model session. We're gonna call it Nino Tethered session session and hit, OK, going into image files. And I was going to create a whole session for you. Now you have a separate selects folder, a separate capture folder, separate trash hole there. All set automatically made for you there. So your call in which one we do. What we have to do is make sure that the software knows which one word and capture into right now. I'm just gonna get out of this one because I'd rather keep it all in the same non. Yes, I accidentally move a folder. Is there a way to re link that folder without moving the like? If I move a folder from one place to another and finder and I want to re link that capture folder and capture one to the other folders airway to rewrite a location, location. So what? Let's do that. And that's goes back to the question that was thrown out There is, um, show us how to link that or not. We don't have to import. Show us how to see these files. So added to session favorites. Go ahead and hit. Plus, it's gonna go find it. An image files. I can just go find in my image files a folder full of files that air that wherever that one waas. And so if I know that, let's say it's just the Death Valley folder and there's my Death Valley captures and hit ad. So all I did is added it. It's now is a favorite. I haven't imported it. The raws stay where they were as captured in the job that they were captured in. But now I can see it here by taking a look at all of my Death Valley images. It's going to slowly bring hundreds of images back in right, and so we bring them in. But there's it linked again. So if you lost the link added back, Okay, no tethered. Now we're into Nino tethered. I showed you shooting with metadata added in to begin with copyright. I want to do that review. I want to show why we copyright. It's at a copyright metadata style for you now

Yes, per some other reviews this started slow. What turned me off was the sales spiel for the class. It also came across as a sales schtick for C1, which is ok given the presenter. Stuck with it (well most of it, had to step away at times) and found it useful. I've had my eye on C1 for a LONG time. I'm not a pro, but would consider myself a pretty serious amateur. I document old mining and narrow gauge steam engines, general travel and now do our product photography (started a new company, so all $ goes to that rather than C1, which I would LOVE to own after seeing C9). Went with Aperture back in the day because of its cataloging and price. Back then C1 didn't have cataloging, though it DID have a 2 tier price structure...(Phase WHY did ya'll do away with this?????). Back to the class. After lunch on the first day I think they found their stride. Second day, especially Nino in the afternoon was quite good. That was probably my fav session. Seemed like most questions came from the in-studio "captive" audience. Expected more from the web? Constructive feedback. 1) Could have condensed things down quite a bit. I liked the more casual approach it took later on first day and on the second day. Dave especially seemed more at ease. 2) Ya'll (Dave especially) seemed to have his topics scripted out. Given the two day nature of this, would have been nice to give the attendees an idea of agenda/timeslots for topics up front. If an agenda/timeline was presented...I totally missed it. But then, I couldn't back up or rewind the live stream when I had to step away several times... if I paused it jumped to the realtime stream :-( 3) C Lve was pushing the "free trial download"...isn't there already a trial download from Phase? What value are ya'll offering in this area above what they offer? I found this annoying, if there's an extended trial period or something through ya'll cool. If not...I'm back to the annoying aspect of it. 4) Nino, get a Cintiq :-) If C1 doesn't have a profile for Cintiq (I'm going to download the trial from Phase) Phase you need to add support for it. 5) Dave's material he presented should be in vids on his website to help him expand his C1 market..fantastic selling tool there Dave....or even better....embedded in the product itself (ala SilverFast). Phase, you listening? 6) Nino, given he's coming from a different angle, eg no skin in selling C1?, he could do a 3-5 hour intensive vid(s) and I'd pay something for that. YMMV but I liked his approach and presentation. Was disappointed no C1 on his YouTube :-( Would I pay 99.00 for this class? Honestly, no. We use 3D graphics (ZBrush) and CAD (Rhino) in our company and have been learning those over the last year. To compare. There is another tutorial company whose name I shall not mention (no, it does not start with an 'L') that specializes in vid classes for those and other 3D products. They structure their offerings on a AFFORDABLE monthly/6mos/yearly all-you-can-eat fee structure. Much more consumer friendly, and quite honestly their videos are very focused and about 4-6 hours per course. I don't see myself paying 99.00 much less 129.00 for just one course like this (especially with the sales spiel content) when other companies have a more customer friendly consumption model. A value for the $ thing. In the end I did learn some things, and I'm glad I watched what I could of it. And yeah, I'm pretty sure after this review I just got taken off the free C1 license contention list...but I'm just being honest...Dave, I will be ordering some of the LCC pocket accessories if I ever get C1...those were cool IMHO. C1 has come quite a ways. When I can, I'll add it to our software arsenal.

I have been a user of Capture One for a couple of years but have strugled to get my head around the way to use this software as my chosen raw converter, I love the improved quality that Capture One gives me but always seem to end up scratching my head and going back to Lightroom to save time. I haven't been able to watch the full presentation due to time difference, (I am in the U.K), and other commitments but I have learnt so much in the time I have spent watching that I can finally see me waving goodbye to Lightroom in the very near future. The presenters are excellent teachers, they are funny, engaging and thanks guys you really have made a p[ositive difference to how I interact with Capture One software.
