# AutoCAD Level II

## Overview

This intermediate-level class builds upon fundamental skills and guides students through more advanced and technical AutoCAD projects. Students will learn how to create templates with defined layouts for printing sheets by setting units, drawing limits, and using scales. Students will also learn how to use the interface to complete advanced layering and blocking techniques.

**Please note:** This course is designed for PC users and our in-person classes are PC-only. Mac users may attend online but should be aware that the Mac AutoCAD interface differs from the PC version, which is what the instructor uses and what the class focuses on.

## What you'll learn

- Improve productivity with advanced tools for accurate positioning, parametric constraints, and block usage
- Learn how to create, organize, and manage reusable content through custom block libraries
- Set up and customize drawing templates to maintain consistency across multiple projects
- Design and manage advanced layouts with viewports, paper space, and scaling techniques for print-ready drawings
- Master annotation styles to ensure clarity and standardization in dimensions, text, and hatching
- Integrate external references (Xrefs) into your workflow to manage large-scale drawings and collaborate across teams

## Prerequisites

Attendees should possess a basic understanding of AutoCAD equivalent to our [AutoCAD Level I](/classes/autocad-level-1) course.

### Can I attend this course as a Mac user?

Our in-person AutoCAD classes only use PCs.

We allow Mac users to attend our AutoCAD classes online. The Mac AutoCAD graphic interface is different from the PC version, which is what the instructor uses and what the class focuses on. However, the tools are the same and the keyboard commands are almost identical. The instructor may need a moment of screen sharing to navigate the Mac interface with you a few times.
