# Excel Level I: Fundamentals

## Overview

In this beginner Excel workshop, you’ll learn the essentials of Microsoft Excel, including calculations, basic functions, charts, formatting, and printing. This basic Excel class is perfect for those with limited experience who want to expand their proficiency. Our Excel course includes practical exercises that guide you through the basics. Learn the concept, watch an example, and complete an activity using the new concept on your own. At the end of the course, you’ll keep your training guide for reference whenever using Excel.

After completing the Excel Level I course, you’ll receive access to our companion video suite, featuring beginner-level video lessons viewable on desktop, mobile, and tablet. These video tutorials explain popular Excel concepts in easy-to-follow steps.

#### Autofill

- Explores Excel's amazing ability to predict and extrapolate patterns

#### Calculations

- Perform mathematical expressions and review the Order of Operations rule

#### AutoSum Functions

- Review the five key functions: Sum, Average, Max, Min, and Count Numbers

#### Absolute Reference

- Changing a cell reference into a constant, which is necessary for certain calculations

#### True or False

- Tests to see whether criteria is true/false

#### Text Functions

- Introduces functions used to modify text in Excel

#### Multi-Input Functions

- More advanced functions that require more than one input

### What version of Excel does this course cover?

The instructors typically present using Excel 2019 or Office 365. However, you can use Excel 2013 or 2016 as well; the exercises and interface are compatible with what we teach (with some minor differences that the instructor will explain).
