## Overview

### Learn Sketch Fundamentals for UI and UX Design

You will learn to design web layouts for mobile, tablet, and desktop (or screens for apps) using text, graphics, styles, and more. With artboards and layout guides, you can design on popular grid systems like Bootstrap, making it easier to create responsive webpages.

Symbols are where Sketch really shines. They let you reuse design elements such as buttons while allowing each instance to be customized individually. Being able to update symbols globally enables you to create flexible design systems that are easier to manage.

Sketch is vector-based, so graphics can scale to a variety of sizes and export as high-resolution (Retina) graphics for the web or apps. Exporting graphics is quick: mark what you want to export, select the file type and size, and you are ready to go.

### Do I need to bring anything to the class?

In-person classes: No, we provide Macs with Sketch installed.

Live online classes: You will need your own Mac and a copy of Sketch (which may require a recent version of macOS so please check the system requirements).
