# Using AI to Prepare for Difficult Conversations Course

## Overview

No magic wand exists for difficult conversations, but this course comes pretty close. With Claude and other free, publicly available AI tools serving as your personal preparation coach, you will learn how to approach and work through the conversations many people put off, avoid, or handle poorly at work and in life.

Waiting does not make hard conversations any easier. Showing up unprepared or leaning on language that does not feel authentic to you can send things in the wrong direction. Whether you are tackling a performance issue, resolving conflict with a peer, offering feedback to someone who struggles to receive it, gearing up for a high-stakes conversation with leadership, or sorting through a difficult situation outside of work, this course lays out a clear, step-by-step approach to using AI effectively. You will learn to prompt AI in a way that captures your voice, prepares you for how the other person might respond, and gives you space to practice before the real moment arrives. You will finish with a personalized plan and a reliable approach you can return to any time a difficult conversation comes your way, at work or beyond.

- Refine an opening and overall approach that opens the door to dialogue instead of triggering defensiveness
- Engage in live AI role play and take stock of your own performance through structured debriefing
- Finish with a thorough, personalized conversation plan you can put to use right away
