## Overview

#### Anyone Can Make a Website with WordPress

WordPress enables you to create and maintain a website, even if you have no web design background or knowledge of the code that makes websites work. Whether you want to create a new website or blog or manage an existing WordPress website, this class is for you. This course is geared towards students of all experience levels, and no prior experience with computer graphics or coding is needed.

40% of all websites are made with WordPress because it offers a wide range of functionality, including the ability to create themes (templates) that control the look, feel, and functionality of a website. In this class, you’ll learn how to create pages, edit content, and understand how you (or the people you create websites for) will interact with WordPress when creating and editing content.

## FAQ

### Do I need to bring anything to the class?

No. We provide computers (Mac or PC) with a web browser. Choose your operating system at checkout.

### What's the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org? Is the training different for them?

[WordPress.com](https://wordpress.com) is merely one web hosting company you can use (which is run by one of the original creators of WordPress). Because of their name recognition, they are typically more expensive than other web hosts (such as GoDaddy, etc.) where you can also host a WordPress website.

[WordPress.org](https://wordpress.org) is the place where the open source WordPress software is hosted and documented. Webhosts that offer easy WordPress installations get the software from WordPress.org

This class is general WordPress training and it does not matter who your website is hosted with. WordPress.com does have an alternate (non-standard) interface it uses by default, but there’s a way to use the standard WordPress interface that we teach (and ever other WordPress hosts uses).
