Although I was very interested in the topic 'advanced color toning' and I'm convinced the instructor is very experienced, the problem with his demonstration of different techniques is, it feels Dave Cross is experimenting himself while doing the class and the result of the applied techniques on the random images he picked are not very inspiring (unless you like psychedelic art or preset instagram looks). While explaining the 'blend if' or 'apply image' techniques, to me it would be far more interesting if the instructor would show a practical example for real use. For instance if you want to replace a sky, you can use 'blend if' in this way. Or you can choose 'apply image' for these kind of adjustments. But now the students are overwhelmed with a plethora of techniques but the instructor fails to demonstrate practical uses of these techniques for real use (unless you like psychedelic art). I would love to see another class on this topic 'advanced color toning' but with more 'real world' step-by-step practical examples: this is the problem and we can use 'blend if' or 'apply image' to fix it. Also I would have expected a software program like 3D Lut Creator would have been mentioned, which to me seems a far more elegant and visual way of creating LUT's, than simply saving adjustment layers as a LUT in Photoshop. May'be a class on 3D Lut Creator for advanced color toning should be considered in the future.

I am somewhat sympathetic with another reviewer who said that the examples were not practical or realistic enough. Nevertheless, in this course David Cross has shown how a few advanced, and at times difficult and confusing, Photoshop techniques work. He has made smart objects, apply image and blend if understandable for me. If I were sitting in the live class, I might feel overwhelmed. But having purchased the class, and being able to watch it at any time to help me remember how a Photoshop tool or technique works, I would recommend it for anyone wondering how to use these tools and techniques.

Dave definitely knows his stuff, but this course really didn't help me with "advanced colour toning". He showed an arsenal of cool techniques and non-destructive considerations for editing photos - but he didn't actually teach me anything about colour toning. This didn't feel as practically applicable as I'd hoped.
