This is a great course, Simona is very good explaining the techniques. The only thing I really wish was the video could zoom in when she is talking about different makeup brushes. It's a bit too broad for me that has little knowledge of the appropriate makeup tools and brands, a list of good makeup brands for concealers and even a good starter/ essential eye shadows kit would have been very nice. The class is great, just need more material on how to put together your own kit to support it. Thanks CL and Simona, as always very nice, I'm glad I bought the course!
I love this course and came to it because I saw Sue's Glamour Photography course. I learned so much. The BIGGEST missing piece from this course is a handout that lists Simona's kit contents! There was a hair product that I wanted so bad, but had to stop the video ten times to try to see what it was! So a list of Simona's must haves would have really rounded out this course nicely. I was so happy to see a photo of her key brushes in the slides, so I can fill in my kit with what is essential. I loved the self esteem discussion at the end, because I find Sue Bryce just so compelling and inspiring. Beautiful. Just a few picky things to make the next one even better...I would have liked the camera on the face of the subject more during Simona's demos because it seemed to show Simona talking (which is nice) but then I couldn't see the make up process. The demo with Ms. Lobdell, was great, except the side of her face that Simona was doing her makeup on was the furthest from the camera. BTW, her make up was so pretty.. Thank you so much for this wonderful series! Hope you keep having them!
I was really looking forward to this class. Unfortunately, now I would love to get my money back and spend it elsewhere. Most of the information was vague and disjointed and I felt like they started the class in the middle. I would have LOVED to see more detailed video and instruction on how to style the hair and information on products. I was nearly in tears after watching the makeup section! I felt like I learned more about what to look for when hiring a makeup artist and why women need to feel beautiful than how to apply the makeup!!! Most of the information in this section was vague as well, and the cameras spent so much time focused on Sue that I felt like I didn't even see half the application process. As some other reviews have said, you can find more information on YouTube than in this class. That being said, as a mother, homemaker, and homeschool teacher of two, and as a business owner, I do NOT have the time to spend hours searching for videos and watching them while trying to guess which ones will hold the information I need. I wanted a class with all of this information in one place. CreativeLive, I am usually impressed with the quality of education you provide here and I have quite a few of your classes. This class was a HUGE letdown. I would encourage you to hold another makeup and hair class (or even a bootcamp) with an instructor that is clear and not disjointed or rambling, with MUCH better camera work so that we can see the process from beginning to end. With this class, if felt as though the makeup artist instructed the students that were there before you even started the cameras and then gave a haphazard, disjointed, vague, mumbling explanation to the rest of us. Overall, I feel as though I did not learn nearly as much as I expected and I am left just frustrated.
