Kim: Pinterest Tips

Let's talk about Pinterest, right quick. Um, again, Pinterest is one of those things. One of those I have kind of approach this again from a standpoint of how guy could give you some quick and easy tips that you can leverage from a business perspective. Obviously, I'm giving you my Pinterest book. Thean initial book was was probably one of the very first Pinterest books on the market. Um, just a few, I guess Gosh, has been a couple of years now, But the very first version of it, which is still on Amazon, um, has since been revised. Or what you guys are getting that's been updated and you will get the updated version. But Pinterest is just in fairness of all and being transparent train of Pinterest has actually changed even since the last update. So there's a few things that are going to be outdated in the book, but the whole of it and the principles behind the marketing elements and how you can leverage it are still solid. So there's a lot of great great information in that Pinterest b...

ook 71 I think, is 71 pages of great stuff. So we're gonna pull out nine things that I think are really valuable from a business standpoint and talk about those. So why Pinterest? It's extremely viral in nature, you know, in its Web based, so people can access it from in, you know, anywhere, their mobile devices they can access it from. You know they're there if there in front of their desktop, so or their laptop. So 80/80 percent of Panzar re pens. So people are actually sharing this content versus you know, that's one of the drawbacks, I think honestly of Instagram is, there's no sharing capability. Well, that's not the case on Pinterest. It's entirely visual, so people can consume him info quickly and share it even more quickly. Again, it goes back to that time element. We are just so time deprived today that we want to share information consuming share information very quickly. It's also an incredible traffic source. It's my number two traffic source. I told you about Pinter Twitter being my number one source and Pinterest is my number two source, and you need to get there before your competition does. I think there's still a lot of people out there who are not on Pinterest and more specifically there, not leveraging it correctly, which it could be. The case could be made for several social media platforms. When I say that a lot of people are not doing it well when it comes to social media. Ah, lot of big brands are not doing social media very well, but that gives us lots of room. That's the way I look at it. So what does this mean? Obviously, I couldn't find a very good updated stats on the traffic that that, um, that Pinterest is driving. But this is what's very interesting to me. Over 10 million visitors in January of 2012 alone, I couldn't find any that were January of 2013 but it this is the part that's really, really interesting. It drives more traffic than YouTube. LinkedIn and Google combined. Wow, more than your right. Is that not amazing? Yes, there's more exposure for your business, obviously, and the more exposure for your business, the better. There's no two ways about that. I think that's a pretty, ah, pretty good statement. So who's on Pinterest? Who's hopelessly addicted can be addicted. I mean, addicted teen. Yes. Um, the bill. You've not been on Pinterest yet. My mother is telling me to get on Pinterest. That's so again, it goes back to what what your ideal clients care about. It's not always about your product or service, and we talked way. Keep saying this. You know, if this is true across the board, it's about what do they care about that revolves around your product or service? That's the way you have to look at it. Then create those boards. Create your boards on Pinterest with your ideal client in mind. Again, it goes back to What do they care about? It's not just about your product in your service. They may care about shoes. They may care about clothes. They may care about hair. They may care about vacations. They may care about their bathroom renovation. You know, it's just a lot of different things that they can can be concerned about and is a problem, a place of community that you they can connect with you on, be a resource for their questions, feed their inspirations, solve their problems. If you could do these things, you are ultimately going Teoh be a rock star on social media plan for success. So I think this is the big thing and it goes back again to the overall goals. And no one who your ideal client is this is Four Seasons bridal. As you can see, this is actually a great example for you. You know, in your business, you can see they dio quite a few boards. Some of them, you know, they're a hotel, incidentally, hotel and resort. And you know they cater, of course, to the bridal industry. But they've got hair, bridal hair, you know, the up styles, the up do's they've got flowers, they've got weddings with a view. They've got food they've got. You know, love is sweet, well groomed, lots of things that revolve around what their ideal client or the person that they're trying to target cares about. Now, most of that has nothing to do with them actually coming into the Four Seasons Hotel, right, But again, they have really focused in on a lot of the different things that would attract their ideal client. That's the key. What is going to attract your ideal client? What do they care about? Um, and that's the big thing. And they've done a great job of, you know, building outboards that will give value to that ideal client. But from an S e o standpoint, we keep harping on the S. I told you you'd hear it so many times, but use your branded user name whether that's your business name or whether that and actually you can't have a business account on Pinterest a personal profile or a business profile. Um, I have a business profile, and but again, I'm a personal brand. So you know, I'm Kim Garst on Just like I am on Twitter and some of the other platforms Maximize your about section with your website, your blawg or your blood. You are l. And again, this is a great place to put those keywords in so that people know immediately who and what you are. And when people search for you, they can find you on Pinterest under those keywords. Um oh, here. I said that before I said it before I showed it. Um, but again, it's it's all about branding your business. You can also connect your twitter in your Facebook to your Pinterest account. So the And when I say connect, that doesn't mean that things that you share on your Pinterest account are going to be posted to your Facebook or your Twitter. It means that when people come to your profile, they can connect to you in both Other play in those two other places, like to your Facebook account. In other words, it makes that Twitter bird live. It makes it a live link and the Facebook icon a live link back to your to your Facebook profile. So it's a great again. If people are on Pinterest, why would it do make it hard for them to find you in other places? Make it easy for them to find you in other places, um, and then make it easy for others to pin your content. This is the big thing. And I see a lot of people I do not have pin buttons on their website. So, please, if you do not have them on your website, make sure that you put them on there so that again, you want people sharing your content, right? If l pennant, um, you can pennant. But it's so much better if other people are pinning the content from your page. So add that Pinterest app to your IPhone or your IPad because again, it's at your fingertips. And if you're sitting in line waiting for your kids or your at the doctors or you know anywhere that you're out and about and you're not right in front of your computer, you can access Pinterest right from your IPhone or your IPad. Um, and then I think this is a big creating an organizing your boards when somebody comes to your printers profile. And all they see is, you know, just a few boards. You know, that doesn't look so good, right? So, you know, choose one. You have to choose board names that reflect your business, your culture, your interest, their interest, perhaps products, services. Um, when you choose board names, more names are, um, searchable. They're searchable on Pinterest there, so searchable on Google. So you definitely need to make sure is your building out your board names that one? It revolves around your business, obviously, but it also is something that people are searching for based on keywords. Strengths. So did everybody know that those boards were searchable? Yeah, board names, air searchable by Gulas. Well, so make sure that the board names that you choose. You can also go back. And if you've built outboard names and you didn't know this, you can go back and change your board names. So you know, that's don't stress over the fact that you didn't know it. Just fix it so bored names again have the S e o value. Um, with all this said, don't forget to be creative with your board names because lots of times people will, you know, are drawn to some of the more creative board names. Captions on the descriptions for the photos in Pinterest are those also searchable through Google? No, not to my knowledge. Just the board names themselves. Yes, I've never seen an actual individual photo pop up inside of Google, but definitely the board names. Definitely, definitely. Okay. And again, create an organizer boards if you have it. Like I said, if you have ah, presence on Pinterest and somebody comes to your Pinterest account and it looks like this and I can do this because this is my sister's. When she first started, I said, You don't mind if I do this right? You're gonna be my guinea pig. I'm gonna use you as an example of what? Not to dio, but again, it's It's not a great way to start engaging with your audience when you have one or two boards. In fact, you should have ah, all viewable. Everything in the top of the visible screen should be filled up. So you know, whether that's, you know, non boards. Or if that's 12 boards, you should have plenty of content for people to take a look at. You have a question. So two years ago, when I started Pinterest and it was all surrounding my own interest and then after I launched the website and had pennant boards and whatnot her buttons. So now I have one that says my photos in the midst of, like all my other 40 boards or whatever, however, have seen number. I have any of that. How do I now separate and go from my own personal Pinterest to creating a new one successfully when I have, You know, however many followers on my personal one and I want to kind of separate. Okay, well, I personally don't think you should separate your personal from your business because you are the only ingredient in your business that stays the same. Um, on my Pinterest boards. This is an example. I love shoes. So I have a shoe board that's personal Has nothing to do with my business. Um, obviously, I mean, you wouldn't know that I love shoes by the flats today, but I knew I was gonna be on my feet all day, and I decided not to wear heels. But I do low shoes. I have way too many of them. And, um, I'm Yeah, I'm a little bit of a fanatic when it comes to shoes, but I also have a lot of other personal things as well as business things. So what I would suggest is you don't try to separate those things. Let the reflection of you be just what it iss instead of you saying Okay, I'm just gonna be all business, like now. You can go back and reorganize your your boards if you want to rename them, You know, even delete things that you don't think. Or maybe appropriate or maybe things that you might not want to share. Um, but I don't think you should take out like if you have. Ah, I have food I have, you know, a great bathrooms. I have a lot of things. They're just personal in nature. On my my Pinterest account, that is again. It's a connection point. From a personal level, people are gonna connect to you personally way before they connected with you On a business level, I'm a big, big believer in that to be a fact. So just, you know, don't don't try separate. It would be my one less thing to take a less thing to do now. What's the difference between a personal page and a business page? Are Izard. Are there different options that they give you? Well, they do give you the option to have a personal profile or a business profile. And honestly, as far as looks are concerned, there's there's no real difference. Um, functionalities the same. You know all of that. It's just giving you a business page and letting you know you have the business opportunity and they're actually building out a lot of business application right now. I was just reading their blawg just this morning on a couple of things that have changed even since the last time I realized that you know something sneak this stuff in on you and they don't tell you? Um, you know, they've changed. Used to be able to put, um, just by simply putting a dollar sign in the amount of the product that you're selling that would show up in the right corner. I'm sorry. The left corner of your photo. Well, you can't do that anymore, But they are building out a lot of different applications right now for the business end of it. So it'll be interesting to see what they come up with. There was actually a great block post on their block this morning about some of the things that they're doing to move forward. So I think what that said there will be things that the business side of the house is going to have and some capabilities that the personal profile is probably not going to have. So if, hypothetically, if someone just started on Pinterest, uh, and was also starting a business, would you recommend the personal page of the business page? The business page? Yeah. I would go ahead and go. Let her night. Yeah, I have a quick questions. This is great. I have a client who has a fashion boutique, and I don't think her customers are really Facebook users. But I think they do use Pinterest. Do you feel that? I know the perception of Pinterest a little bit is that it's very female orient. It's very fashion oriented shoes, shopping, clothes. Although I do know men who are on Pinterest do you feel that it's more geared and more driven by certain businesses than others? Like I'm trying to think who I might direct to Pinterest versus directing them to instagram or Twitter per say, Well, I don't think that every business has a place on Pinterest like if you're a plastics corporation, for example, you know you may be struggling on Pinterest, but if you, um I think a lot of businesses don't understand the visual aspects of their business because they haven't been creating visual content, whereas I think there's a place for them if they just dio, you know, create the visual content. So I think there's a lot of application for businesses on Pinterest that they haven't haven't embraced yet. But I do think with that said that there are some industries in some businesses that are just a natural fit for Pinterest. You know most of the end users on Pinterest are women, like 82%. 83% are women. But think about it. Who are the buyers and most families? Women, Even when it comes down to cars and things that you would, you think that there are men driven consumer purchases? Women have a big say in that you know they have, whether it's the color, it's the style or, you know, they don't have a cup holder here. You know, it's a lot of things that man don't think about. And ultimately men will. You know, the woman has a big say in what's bought in a household, and I would I would argue that probably 80 to 90% of household purchases are driven by the by the woman. So, um, you know, most any brand what that said should probably have a place on Pinterest simply because that's where the buyers are. Most women are going to be the by the purchasing decision in a family. So anyway, OK, so with that, we go on, we talk about so again the viewable port part of your Pinterest account should be filled up and have some great content in it. And again be something that people are gonna be really interested in. One of the things that I did that I think really helped. Instead of just breaking social media and lumping social media into one big category, I actually build out boards that are specific, like Pinterest for business info. A Pinterest infographics, Facebook for business. Facebook infographics. You know, I bet I broke it up in the individual content pieces, you know, so that people could if they were interesting Facebook, they could get Facebook content again. Your business is gonna be very, very different. But I only share that with you so that you can understand that you know, breaking it up and busting up your your your content or the way you present your content is only limited to your to your imagination. And, frankly, go take a look and see what everybody else is doing. You'll get some great ideas by just looking at you know what some other folks are doing? Whole Foods does a great job incidentally, on Pinterest. Love them, create vision, visual penna ble content and I just gave you some resource is to create your own visuals, but photos and videos are great YouTube videos in particular you can share on Pinterest. I I heard, and I haven't checked this, but I heard that they were going to be implementing Demio as well. And I'm I can't speak to that. So I'm not going to say that that's Ah surety. But I know you can definitely share YouTube videos on Pinterest infographics air huge on 10 tourists. People love them. Um, just let me give you a quick tip on infographics infographics air. Very expensive to have created for you and your business. They can cost you 500,000 sometimes thousands of dollars, depending home. How involved they are. But there's a website or a platform out there called pick toe chart. Um, I think it's picked a chart dot com. If this doesn't work, let me know, and I'll give you the correct link. I'll look it up, but it's a Web based platform that you can create your own infographics and, um, it's very reasonable. So I mean, you know, just a few dollars. Definitely check that out. You know, I shared with you a phone app, but there's a great Web based app. I mean a great website called pic monkey dot com, where you can do some great image image editing, creating your own images there, Um, you know, correcting red eye and stuff like that. If you have a photo great resource, highly encourage you to check out pic monkey. It's free to paid. So there is a free model on and it does have some paid application. But it was all with all social media. Just be human because, you know, I shared this earlier. Very first thing I talked about was, you know, Social Media's humanity. Just be human. Share your business. The behind the scenes always works. People want to know what you're doing, What's working for you, Um, and you know, care about what they care about. That's the key. That's the real key. Let's talk about some statistics on Penn engagement pins with a call to action, see a team or 80% more engagement. You know, we talked about the calls to action on instagram Facebook. It works. If you ask people to do something specific, you're going to get a larger percentage of people actually doing what you asked them to dio and pens with a tutorial or a guide. Or do it yourself. Sor recipes are huge on Pinterest. They see 42% Morrell engagement pins relating to trending topics. C 94% higher, and you can pay attention to what's trending. You know you can go to the popular page. You can see what people are engaging with most, um, but these are, you know, huge numbers to increase your engagement, but you want to. Basically, it's us all about empowering people to share your content. Um, win. Depend lots of times. You know, you hear this question a lot. I get it a lot. When do I pin on or wind? I post on Facebook Window. I tweet window I. You know it's all a process, but there's actually some proven times on Pinterest that work better supposedly than others. So during the day between two and four, what happens during the day between two and four, it's well, if you have little ones, they're asleep. They're taking their nap, right? So you're on 10 tress checking out what's happening. That's in my opinion. I think that's probably what's happening. A night eight PM to 1 a.m. That's a pretty widespread again. I think a lot of it is, is, um, after the kids go to bed and women are getting back on their computers, that again, that's my take. I don't know if it's true, but that's kind of what I think of. Statistics show that pens posted between these times seem to get a lot of hits. If you add Penders to your social media, Um, plan, then you know include it. Obviously include include Pinterest in your social media strategy, especially if your ideal client is somebody who's going to buy your product or service. Pinterest has lots of buyers. Lots of women curate other people's content. You know, don't always just focus on what you're doing. You can actually share and reap in. Other people's content would definitely encourage you to do that. Um, you know, again the self promotion peace. Find that mix and then again, share share other people's content. Be the go to source for info. This is the critical piece across the board on all social media, honestly is when somebody has a thought about buying or needing a resource, they have a question around something. Who are they going to think about? Are they going to find you? Um, are Ultimately, if they do find you, are you going to be that source for them? The next time they need a resource, are they gonna come back to you? That's where true community comes. And that's where the first step towards a sale happens is when you've made initial contact, they come back to you the second time. That means that you've created enough value that they're willing to come back and see what else you have to offer again. Use those calls. The action. Ah, pin, it'll win. It's who Anybody familiar with the Penneteau Winans. They're similar to contest, you know, on Facebook or whatever. You can drive a lot of engagement using the pennant. A win. It's This is one. Actually, we did this on Ah, this was the product I was sharing with you that was live on the Home shopping network. Um, the client I had we did up in it to win it contest. They are great again. Lots of this is just limited to your imagination. What you can do with promoting your products and your services Let's say, for example, let's just go back to that pinnacle. Win it idea. In case you don't have a product, how do you use a pen? It'll when it in another way. Then, when it's not product based, let's say, for example, you are, um, a personal coach. Or, you know, I guess the personal coach. Maybe you could give away 33 minutes of coaching, for example. In other words, you can't high in a service in the same way that you can tie in a product so you can give away a piece of the service that you provide to so that you can get a window of opportunity into what else you can do for them and then allow others to post on community boards. That's a great way to again build out of the community within, um, news. In other words, you can create a community board that not not you can post to it, but so can other people, and you can invite people to post to it. And, you know, I'm a big proponent of honestly just using your manners on social media. Um, you know, whether that's on Twitter or whether that's on Facebook or wherever you know. Don't forget to tell people you appreciate them. Thank them when they re pin something. It doesn't mean that you have to do everyone. But don't don't dismiss the fact that a lot of people are amazed when you reach out with a thank you. It is incredible. The power of manners on social media there, just not expecting it. Nobody doesn't anymore. It's like, Ah, card, who sends a card anymore? When you send a personal card to people, it's big. I mean, they're like, Well, I got a card in the mail at mentioned people using the at sign similar to some of the other platforms. Repent, comment. And like other people's content, that's a big thing to, you know, Don't just be all about you. Make sure you're out there communicating and connecting and repenting, commenting and liking other people's content. How do I use Pinterest to drive traffic to my blawg? Um, it is critical to have a photo on your most. Everybody uses a photo on their blocks, right? Usually you you have Ah, you sure you're blawg Post? There's a photo at the top. Or maybe you incorporate some photos inside of the block content itself. Um, but my biggest tip is it relates to driving traffic from your, um from Pinterest. Back to your bog is just something very simple. Let's say, for example, I had this nine tips for making Instagram. You're a professional secret weapon. That was my blog's title. Now most people would probably just put a photo of Pinterest. I mean, instagram up there on their blawg, and people would immediately identify it because, okay, that's gonna be one. It's obviously a blawg title that's talking about Instagram and the graphics about instagram. So the connections there, right? What if you sell? What if you separate these two pieces and I pin just this this photo of the instagram logo to Pinterest? Okay, what happens then? There is a link back to my blawg. But is anybody going to click on this link because all they're going to see is an Instagram logo? What? Referenced to anything? Is that right? So how am I going to get them to click on my mic pitcher on Pinterest so that they can I can drive them back to my face? I mean, to my block keep want to say Facebook? Well, it's pretty simple makeup log, and they make a graphic that has the title of your ah blawg post on the actual graphic. So when I pin this graphic now to Pinterest, there's a reference point. So if say, for example, if I had a blood post about yoga and I had a stream of running water on my blood post, that would make perfect sense, it's in context. Total. Everybody would totally get that photo if I pin just that photo to Pinterest. There's no context anymore. All they see is a picture of running water, And why would I click on that? So my point is, include the block title in a graphic that you put on your website pin that depend trist. Now people have a frame of reference. They know when they click on this, that they're gonna get nine tips for making Instagram. Their professional secret weapon is that that's how I drive traffic from Pinterest to my block and it is more effective. You'll notice that I said I have more traffic coming from Twitter and Pinterest than I have coming from Google. I'm leveraging social media to drive to and I have one of the top social media blog's in the world, and I'm doing it purely through the power of social media. Wow. So So to summarize this one again, you've taking the first image that is in your blawg and then actually using what kind of that program do you can go to Pic Monkey, for example, and create a graphic that has, on overlay of your blog's title on it. So just that extra step, one little thing makes such a big difference. And who would have thought of that? Yeah, it was like, You know, how do you get people Teoh engage with your content, right? You have to give them something. They have to know where they're going, in other words and why they should go there. It's similar to what I said about videos on Facebook. Now give them a reason. Give them, uh, you know what? It why do they need to pay attention to that piece of content you have to tell? Yeah, we have a comment from Sky burger dot com. Who says OMG saving the best tip so smart on. Then they're saying the other people who just said that they had had t pop out that they missed the Gooden's. Uh, yeah, this is This is a big tip right here. You know, whether again I live. I've told you guys this ah, several times during the course of the day. How important your content ISS. It's a connection point for pretty much every social platform out there. It's a great, great way to drive traffic. Incidentally, you could do the same thing with every platform. I mean, I drive traffic from Pinterest to my blawg. I drive traffic from Twitter to my blawg and to Facebook. You could do the same with Pinterest. Incidentally, did you all know that you could pin your content from your Facebook profile, your business page to Pinterest so that when they click on it, it goes back to your Facebook page? So again, it's just a cyclical thing. You just have to know some of these little tricks. Teoh leverage them all against each other, practice, practice and practice and and honestly it. There's a lot of pieces and parts to it, but again, start with one or two things, get comfortable there and then start adding and the rest of it. But Pinterest is is a great platform. Probably if if I had to choose over Pinterest and Instagram for you know, if you were gonna say OK, which one should I go for? I would probably recommend Pinterest simply because there's a lot more business application from a traffic driving standpoint. Then I think Instagram has doesn't mean I don't think Instagram has, um that I don't think is valuable. I definitely dio But again, I think that Pinterest can You can leverage the traffic piece a little bit better on Pinterest than you can on on Instagram. So if you had to choose 11 definitely go for Pinterest. Okay, you've broken it all down throughout the day. But the main thing is driving back to your blogging and having content. So something that was a great big web of a mess of what do I dio? As long as we have a simple little goal, it's it's simplified it. So I think it was pretty cool. I'd also ended. I love hearing that. Well, it's interesting. The Pinterest peace and of course, social media across the board honestly is just, you know, stepping back from it. And in saying, um, you know, you know you want more business from it. That's the obvious, right? But how do you break it down into smaller chunks that you can dio and, you know, set some goals for that particular platform that's achievable? That's measurable so that you can know if it's working for you. And if it's not, how do you fix it? That's true whether it's Facebook, whether it's Pinterest, whether it's instagram, all of them have that one common theme in in place. I think in kind common that you have to have some goals so that you can know whether or not you're actually achieving anything by using that platform. It's very hard to say, Like, for example, when I say measuring like I know, for example, that Twitter is my number one traffic source because I can measure that. I can see what kind of traffic I'm getting from the efforts that I'm putting in. So I know that that works Pinterest same thing. This little tip right here is my number two traffic source. Just this one thing and I can measure that. I know that that one strategy is paying off because it's generating traffic. So just the little things that you you put into place to meet a goal set that are measurable goals, strategy measuring. We have a few questions coming in from the community that's chatting out there. Snappy Gourmet and Katie James photo That kind of a similar question about scheduling Pinterest posts because I kind of started the day talking about revealing some secrets, how we can schedule Facebook posts and stuff like that. Is there anything because it looks like, um, actually, is there anything that you can use to schedule your pins? To my knowledge, no, There used to be a platform out there that would allow you to schedule pins, and they went out of business. And I don't know if they went out of business simply because a lot of the platforms air tightening up what they call their AP, as which means that third party applications are people that support that application from the outside in, um, are struggling Twitter in particular, eyes really tightening down their A p I. So a lot of the applications that were built to support the Twitter a platform by 3rd 3rd Party people are going by the wayside because Twitter is no longer allowing them access to their a p s. So whether or not that was what happened, it was the only platform out there that I'm aware of. But to my knowledge, there gone and there is no way to schedule content to Pinterest. So there's no shortcut on a slate of Pinterest that I'm aware off. All right, thank you. Well, we're just having a few minutes left Teoh to wrap up. And I know the whole day has been about how to manage all of these things. But the question come through from Mallory back in Seattle, who's actually also one of our hosts here, creativelive, but really summarizing. We have so many solo preneurs that are out there and our creative live audience. And her question is, if you were the only constant and you're keeping a close tie between the personal and the business, how do you do? How do you create a social media strategy that you are working on and not in? And she's referencing that the myth. I don't want to be a slave to my content calendar and online engagement and all these portals soon to be so demanding of your time and real time participation. And it's just that again starting back from the beginning like, my goodness, I know you're telling me I could do this, but I'm still feeling overwhelmed. So tell me again. Okay, How I can do this. Well, one of the nice things about leveraging Social Media's ultimately you want to do so to get more business, correct. So starting with one or two as to where you can manage the balance of the time required in the effort required versus just saying OK, I'm going to do seven social media platforms and I'm just gonna kill it. You'd be spending all day every day trying to do that many. But the value of suggests starting with one or two until you feel comfortable and you start getting results in your start. Getting more clients and more sales is that you can start hiring people to assist you so your teams all of a mat automatically starts to grow and you have more. Resource is at your fingertips, right. So now you can have access. Teoh, you know whether or not they're doing other things in your business that allow you more time to devote to the social media? Or are they going to be helping you with the social media piece of it? Maybe they're gonna be right in your blood content. So the by virtue of the fact that you leverage social media to get more business also turned that income that added income into you know, whether it's a part time V A. To help you with some of this stuff or whether it's a full time person. Ultimately long term. Maybe it's that person you have been waiting to hire, but you just simply didn't have that extra income to do so yet. So again, I think you have to re invest and invest in your business as you grow using the power of social media. Um, but that's again. That's just one of those things that is za balance between, you know, trying toe do it all and then choosing what to do something well and then, you know, continuing to add on as you grow. I think that's probably there's no riel. Great answer for that because it is time consuming and there's a lot of pieces in parts to it. But do start small and then continue to grow out as you your business grows and you have. You know your resource is more specifically gross. A great way to learn and keep track of what's happening with your pins is if you'll go to Pinterest dot com. Ah, fourth slash source and your user name are your You are MP's are your u R l You'll be able to see you know how many people are retweeting I'm sorry retweeting re Pending your articles, your post, your page, your pictures you can actually get a feel for some analytics. There's also analytics on Pinterest Now where you can see the you know, Whos pinning your content etcetera Eso This is actually the very last slide. Um, but anyway, I think that is pretty much it as it relates to Pinterest and all the others. Even if you have a question about something that's come, you know earlier in the day, please don't hesitate to ask. You don't have to just stick with instant instagram of interests. Go for it. I just have a quick question about Pinterest and they may have missed it in beginning because they spent so much to absorb but hash tagging in Pinterest Yes, there is hash tagging and Pinterest on Did pretty much all platforms hash Teoh Pinterest went through like a brief two week stupidity spell. I'll say it, um, where they were going to do away with Hashtags. And, you know, there was quite a for around that. Ultimately they said, No, no, we're not gonna do away with Hashtags Hashtags air Probably, in my opinion, one of the most amazing tools you have at your fingertips across all the social platforms. Literally. Now, except for um, LinkedIn really doesn't have a hashtag functionality, but definitely Pinterest instagram Twitter Facebook now has them. In fact, if you go to Facebook and search in the search bar for hashtag keyword, you'll be able to find the key word. I mean the hashtag that keyword link, and you'll be able to pull up conversations that are happening in real time right there on the spot within Facebook, interestingly enough, and this is something I pointed out earlier. Not only or you put, is Facebook pulling in content, that is, and conversations that are happening on Facebook. But they're also pulling in content from Twitter, using that hashtag. So if your content is on Twitter with that particular hash tag, the chances of getting pulled into Facebook where people can engage with that content is very good.

So, I don't want to give this a thumbs up, but I don't want to give a thumbs down. It has a lot of good content for people that are just dipping their foot in the pool of social media for marketing and branding, BUT it is 4 years old, and I had to go online and find the relevant numbers and content to some of the things stated her. Also, I felt as though some of the content was redundant and even contradictory. I would say that the most value in this course are the parts on Thought Leadership and all of the pdfs to use. All of the presenters were great, but I think that this course needs to be refilmed.
