Dixie Dixon: Getting Started in Fashion Photography

It’s funny, the majority of  photographers I get to interview don’t grow up wanting to be photographers – Astronauts, athletes, writers, and movie stars sure, but not photographers. Dixie Dixon is one of the few exceptions. A young and talented artist out of Texas, Dixie’s unique style has attracted clients such as Nikon, Florsheim Shoes, Get Out TV, ProFoods, Inside Edition, Rangefinder, HDNET, PDN’s PIX Magazine, American Heart Association, Nikon World Magazine, Professional Photographers Magazine, and more.

During creativeLIVE Photo Week, I had the chance to sit down with Dixie to talk about how she broke into the fashion photography industry, her tips for creating an awesome portfolio and why Abercrombie and Fitch sucks.
