Adobe Photoshop — the most useful image editing software ever created — is almost 30 years-old. Want to celebrate with us? Join us for Photoshop Week 2018! We’re bringing the world’s top Photoshop experts to our studios May 14-19 to teach you everything you need to know about Photoshop and Lightroom. Check out the full schedule here and watch them all live for free!

While there are a whole lot of people to thank for the state-of-the-art Adobe product we have today, there’s no two people more important than the Knoll brothers — Thomas and John. The two brothers accompany CreativeLive instructor Russell Brown and Steven Guttman as the only names on Adobe’s first splash screen. Why? The sons of a university professor and avid photography hobbyist are the visionaries behind the initial full image editing software. Between 1987 and 1990, Thomas and John worked tirelessly to bring their vision to life.

All these years later the powerhouse that is Adobe Photoshop has become an easy staple of the creative professional’s workflow. The amount of tools that are added and updated consistently push the envelope on what is able to be created in a digital environment.

We gave our experts the opportunity to go back to where it all started and see how far Photoshop has come. Watch the video below to see their reactions.

We’ve come a long way from the days of 1.0, and if you’re looking to expand your Photoshop knowledge or learn how to use the platform to transform your work, your brand, or your visual content, Photoshop Week 2018 is here to help.
