Track Your Time To Increase Productivity

I know you guys have been dying to talk about this so I'm just not going to hold it back anymore we're going talk about time journaling um so another little question for you guys how many of you have ever done a food journal yeah yeah and is it surprising are you like yeah I knew right then surprising surprising right um it's the ultimate truth teller and when you do a tie or not a time journal but when you do a food journal you can actually see what you eat it allows you to make these decisions which you weren't able to do without without doing the journal it just really brings everything to the forefront um it could be a little upsetting because you know you go throughout your day a hershey's kiss hair uh you know, a coke here it just all adds up and until you sort of put pen to paper you don't really realize that well it's the exact same concept with time journaling andi I even feel like time is sort of mme or something even more hard to track um so I would encourage you whether you...

're you know interested or not it is the most fascinating thing to see how you spend your time um so I actually this is one of those instances where I actually prefer pen to paper there are about a thousand aps that can help you track your time I prefer pen and paper it is so ultimately simple so this is an example of what uh pen to paper time journal might look like and in the handouts that we're going to give you guys there's actually a link to this exact one and this one breaks it down in ten minute increments so literally you're waking up you're taking the dog out you're going to get a workout in you're showering, everything is documented on dh it has different areas which you know you can say you know this is a priority this wasn't a priority ice I felt like I did a really good job here I feel like this process could have been improved I don't pay attention to that stuff but what I do pay attention to our stars and I designate stars to say when I'm checking instagram when I'm sort of like fallen off the beaten path and you know, going down the rabbit hole which over time it's like wow that's that's a lot of interruption so I encourage you to make it your own and uh and do what you you know do make it you know, customizable, but at the same time we really want tio track down to the minute how you're spending your time and again we do this because over a week's worth of information we can really see oh, you know what you know, a tv program here there doesn't feel like that big of a deal, but if I spend ah week tracking my time I realized oh, you know what? I'm spending ten hours watching tv. Well, what would I rather be doing with those ten hours or their priorities where I'm not spending as much time as I would like? So this really allows you, teo, be more aware of how you're spending your time and to be able to be proactive and make decisions that support your priorities, so it may sound like a silly task to do, but I think it's the base of any good time management um sort of exploration and have you guys have a better word for time management? I'm all years because I I feel like that is the most corporate sounding world word, so if you guys have a better a better word for it, please let me know for me when I did this, tv was a big one was like, oh my god, I'm done with bravo, andy co and you have got to live my life and instagram it's just like I'm just on it and yes, I use it for my business but you know, you get tied up there's this great example well, I mean it's great because you know, whatever it's my example, but I ended up on steven tyler's instagram feed, and he was like the most ridiculous hat. And, of course, I had to share with my friends, and they were like, what are you doing on his instagram feed him like, I don't even know how I got there. I started out with my friends and somehow ended up on his instagram feed, so you can really waste a lot of time. So again, time journaling is so, so very important.
